STEVE SPERIER:
A COMMITMENT TO HELPING OTHERS
Steve Sperier, a Family Service Counselor at Grace Funeral Home, has dedicated his life to serving the Northshore community. He has called Mandeville home since 1978, attended Southeastern and later graduate school at the University of Georgia. His strong faith guides his life. As a Deacon at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, he credits his faith, along with the influence of his parents and coaches, with his personal and professional success.
Many in Mandeville will recognize Steve from his 21-year tenure as the owner of The Spokesman Professional Bicycle Works, but he began his career as an adaptive physical education teacher, traveling throughout the parish to support children with special needs. This experience laid the foundation for his current role in funeral planning, where empathy and guidance are essential. Steve added, “Teaching kids and guiding families both require patience and a big heart. Both roles are about being there for people when they need it most.”
Steve made the transition to Grace Funeral Home in August 2023. He finds fulfillment in helping families navigate the complexities of funeral planning. Reflecting on his new career, Steve compared the team at Grace Funeral Home to a second family. “The support and camaraderie here are incredible.”
Steve’s key to success: “Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer.” This guiding principle shapes his life of service and faith, inspiring those around him.
