Hertford ‘Bridge of Sighs’ New College Lane, Oxford.

A covered bridge over New College Lane, it is so called the ‘Bridge of Sighs’ as it resembles the Venetian bridge of the same name, although it was never intended to be a replica. Completed in 1914, it links the Old and New Quadrangles of Hertford College and was designed by Sir Thomas Jackson.
