Santa is coming to town as Plymouth gears up for a Christmas to remember
Plymouth is being turned into a Winter Wonderland this Christmas with everything from giant snow globes, real snow, fabulous lights and decorations, to a Santa driven train. The City Centre Company, Plymouth traders, the city council and the Waterfront Partnership have joined forces to make this a Yuletide to remember.
The Christmas holiday calendar officially kicks off when X-Factor winner and Coronation Street star Shayne Ward turns on this year’s beautiful illuminations on 17 November. The hotly-anticipated annual event – always featuring a top celebrity - launches the Christmas countdown and marks the start of Thursday late night shopping for all those hunting for their perfect gifts.
The Christmas holiday calendar officially kicks off when X-Factor winner and Coronation Street star Shayne Ward turns on this year’s beautiful illuminations on 17 November. And they’re hoping more people than ever before will visit Britain’s Ocean City to see for themselves the great shops, eateries, events and entertainment on offer from November to the New Year.
10 woinplymouth
From 4pm there will be a host of entertainment for the whole family, centred on a large stage in the City Centre Piazza.
The Corrie favourite will be performing some of his hit songs along with other performances by youngsters from the Pauline Quirke Academy, the Plymouth Performing Arts Academy and local rock band Rockafella. Children will be able to meet some of their favourite Disney characters, including Belle, the Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty, as well as superheroes Spider-Man and Captain America. From then on the celebrations keep on getting bigger and better as the special City Centre land train begins running the following day right up until Christmas Eve, every Wednesday to Sunday from noon until 5:30pm. Driven by Santa and his elves it will carry visitors from the West End across the city to Drake Circus and back, allowing passengers to gaze at the amazing illuminations and stare at the dazzling shop windows. Then the Piazza will be completely transformed as the Christmas Market sets out more than 50 beautiful log cabin style stalls trading from 1 to 18 December.
The stalls – selling unique hand-crafted gifts from the southwest and further afield – will be festooned in fairy lights offering warming drinks, a Bavarian bar with heated seats and festive food to keep visitors going - perfect for those chilly, late night shopping trips.
"
And new this year will be a central marquee where local bands and singers will be performing festive favourites with a quirky twist.
Santa and his little helpers will be meeting children in his Grotto at Drakes Circus from 17 November to Christmas Eve, as well as at Rumpus Cosy Derry’s Cross from 3 December to 23 December. Traders at Drake Circus – where people can find designer labels, High Street favourites and hundreds of thousands of gift ideas – will be staying open until 9pm every Thursday, with festive entertainment and choirs.
With so much to see, do and enjoy in Britain’s Ocean City, this year will be a Christmas to remember.
"
The popular giant snow globe returns to the middle of Armada Gardens from 17 November to 23 December – allowing visitors to take photos and create some great festive memories.
Bargain hunters can take advantage of some serious Christmas knock down prices on Black Friday on 25 November when the centre will be open until 7pm.
And the popular city centre Nutcracker Trail is back, along with a new waterfront Snowflake Trail, both run from November 18 and end on January 3.
And shoppers and visitors are being encouraged to don their most garish festive pullovers for Christmas Jumper Day on 3 December to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice.
The idea is to write down all the names of the hidden giant soldiers in the city centre and snowflakes in a trail around the Barbican to be in with the chance of winning a host of great prizes, including iPads.
To celebrate the Nutcracker Trail, Plymouth’s Central Library has a number of special events planned, including visits from story book favourites Elmer and the Gruffalo, Nutcracker parties, Clive PiG storyteller and Fairytale
Hairdresser creator, Abie Longstaff. Plus every Thursday from 17 November until 22 November at 6pm, the library will host a special Christmas story time. Everyone knows Christmas is a time to overindulge and the Royal William Yard will be hosting two Good Food Markets on 6 November and 4 December – with over 30 stalls showcasing some of the region’s best foods, recipes ideas and gifts from beautiful chutneys to home-made cakes. Small Business Saturday on 3 December will see local traders unite at Frankfort Gate to show off more unique, hand-crafted gifts for even the fussiest family members. And this year’s Christmas Panto at the Theatre Royal – which attracts more than 50,000 theatre-goers every Christmas – is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which promises fabulous costumes, stunning scenery, a magical mirror, seven friendly dwarfs, a beautiful princess, a handsome prince and plenty of audience participation. There’s even a fairground in the Civic Piazza from 14 November until the New Year for Christmas adrenaline junkies. City Centre Manager Jon Walton said: “Anyone coming to Plymouth is sure to have a day they won’t forget. There will be gifts galore – from designer labels to hand-made crafts, bespoke jewellery to unique pieces of art. Please see visitplymouth.co.uk for the latest information.

Visitors will be able to take Elfie Selfies, run by Pin and Pose, in a special log cabin where children can feed three real Reindeer (Sunday only) with Elf treats, receive a certificate to send to Santa - as well as face painting, wooden gifts and mince pies. The Estover Soundhouse Brass Band will be playing, followed by a performance of the Plymouth University Musical Theatre Group, including Yuletide favourites sung to backing tracks. Then, on 24 November, the Barbican will host a special Illuminated lantern parade commemorating Thanksgiving and the Pilgrims’ voyage to the New World, continuing the official countdown to the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower sailing in 2020. Children from a number of Plymouth schools, community groups and business leaders will join the Illuminate Parade to ‘share the light’ and inspire a sense of unity between Plymouth and America.
Waterfront Manager Sarah Gibson said: “This year is going to be spectacular for everyone visiting Plymouth, there’s a huge amount to see and enjoy. “Over the weekend of 19 and 20 November, the Barbican and Sutton Harbour will be magically transformed with real snow, reindeer, Christmas carol singers, festive lights, Santa arriving on the RNLI lifeboat and the beautiful Dickens’ story A Christmas Carol set within its cobbled streets. “There are great places to eat and unique places to shop, with hand-crafted gifts, antique shops and art galleries. Come and take a selfie photo with an Elf, rub shoulders with a Mayflower Pilgrim and watch Santa arrive on the lifeboat. “Then on Sunday 4 December the Royal William Yard will celebrate the festive period with a special Christmas Food Market, with entertainment and fun for all the family from 10am to 6pm. “All businesses across the Waterfront love this time of year, making it a special and unforgettable visit.” With giant snow globes, Santa, Reindeer, Elfdriven trains, twinkle, glitter, fine dining, carols and glamourous gifts galore – It’s Plymouth Ho Ho Ho all the way. DREAMING OF A

art matters by Norman Holmes, Kaya Gallery
Jackie Gale As part of the Dartmouth Galleries festival last month they ran a ‘Free Art Friday’ when pieces of art work were placed around the town for visitors to find and take home. As it happens, apart from a crumpled up crisp packet I found on a bench which might have been an entrant for the Turner prize, I was unlucky not to have found anything, but nevertheless what a great to encourage visitors to the town and their art festival. It’s an idea Plymouth would do well to copy. And yes I know this is the Christmas edition and you’ve been bombarded with gift ideas, but I would sound a note of caution when buying art for a friend or relative as, like juggling with chain saws it has the potential for disaster. In truth to choose a piece of art as a gift is a really nice thing to do but it’s a minefield to get it right. Firstly you have to remember you’re not buying for yourself and whilst you may love the naive style of say a Brian Pollard or the humour of a Beryl Cook it may not be to the taste of the recipient. You probably need therefore to do
22 woinplymouth
your homework in advance which may involve collusion with their partner, but better this than seeing your gift assigned to the downstairs toilet or worse still left under the bed never to be seen. Thankfully most gallery owners understand how difficult it is to choose for someone else and will happily give you your money back or at least a voucher to spend on something else. Over the coming weeks of course there will be many Christmas art and craft fairs at which you may have to just bite the bullet and go with your instinct but at least you will be safe in the knowledge that you are supporting an independent artist. As well as the many Christmas Fairs, I would encourage you to check out Jo Beer’s amazing exhibition ‘Fleshy’ on throughout November at the Theatre Royal, and on until 19th November is a fascinating exhibition at the Peninsula Arts Gallery showcasing work by Turner prizewinning contemporary artist Douglas Gordon under the title of ‘Searching for Genius’.
There’s also an interesting exhibition at the Devonport Guildhall throughout November with work from over 15 local artists. Finally, still on the trail of Christmas gifts, it is worth visiting Southside Street on Plymouth’s historic Barbican where Mayflower Gallery has the 2017 Beryl Cook calendars, Glass!! has some new stunning glass pieces from Ian Nicholls, Mathias in 45 Southside has sourced some beautiful new ceramics, Blue Peace has a range of beautiful handmade soaps, What Not Wood has an extensive range of personalised gifts, Vicky Sewart exhibits the very best in handmade jewellery and Kaya Gallery has the very latest originals and prints from Jackie Gale and Brian Pollard alongside other galleries and other fabulous places to stop for a mince pie and coffee. Enjoy Christmas and when you can, do support local artists.

Celebrate the festive season with Prosecco and Claret. by @BistroWineMan Stephen Barrett Just a few more weeks to go to the Christmas holiday so I will be featuring wines that are both good value and good taste! Wines don’t have to be “off the clock” in cash terms to be good but each individual budget differs and so will my selections.
out for recognisable discounted favourites for a Christmas treat, But White Bordeaux also merits a mention with Sauvignon Blanc driven wines showing subtlety and minerality rather than a blast of Lychee scented alternative from (say) New Zealand or South Africa.
Sparkling wines, whether Prosecco, English sparkling wines, Cava or Champagnes are all under the microscope where Christmas is concerned. As I have mentioned before prices will be a key to Supermarket purchases as Sparkling wines will be offered almost at cost up to and over the Christmas and New Year period.
These are subtle and gentle wines that are a great match with food. I sipped on the lovely Dorthe La Grand Cuvee AC Bordeaux 2015 – Sauvignon Blanc - £8.99 Waitrose this week with a selection of vegetarian dishes. It worked really well.
Prosecco is a winner for the casual Fizz market with lots of styles and prices at all outlets. I am never sure if we know enough about Prosecco?
Prosecco is a winner for the casual Fizz market with lots of styles and prices at all outlets. I am never sure if we know enough about Prosecco? Not many brands come to mind as we slurp our way though this foamy fizzy style of wine. The Italian market has scored a bull’s eye with Prosecco as it ploughs forward with no abating in sight. So Prosecco it is then and what have I been sipping? Duca del Poggi Extra Dry coming in at 11% by volume at just £5.99 from Bargain Booze. This is a genuine Prosecco with the DOC label of authenticity to the cork stopper. It is (fairly) dry, drier than most with the unmistakable grapey/melon fruit blast over a soft easy drinking style. This is a moderately priced wine that is available now and will be this price for the foreseeable future i.e. it might run out! Claret is another wine that seems (along with Port) to be a favourite at Christmas so look
32 woinplymouth
Its red brothers also showed very well starting with a favourite of mine I have written about before. This is the new vintage of 2014 for Chateau Brassac £9.99 from the Co-op. This is an easy drinking vintage wine based on Merlot with Cabernet backing up the blend. It is unashamedly full of fruit and spice with a supple dryish finish. A very easy sipper is this one! Last the intriguing Diane de Belgrave 2010 Haut Medoc available from Oddbins at £18.50 Equal measures of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a smaller back-up of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot make for a more complex wine. Rich, ripe black fruits on the nose are quickly followed by a soft approachable wine of distinction. The wine is at its peak with six years bottle age and would be a great match with the classic Ribs of Beef. This is mid-priced Claret that deserves a grand supper that I know many of you will be creating sometime over the Christmas holidays. As the man said – Something for everyone! Refectory cocktail of the issue
Dry Martini Martini is undoubtedly the forefather of a classic in the cocktail world, the Dry Martini, the Marguerite deserves its own place in the history books..Sophisticated, simple and possibly the benchmark by which cocktail bars are measured. The first ever recipe for Dry Martini highlighted Plymouth as the recommended gin in 1896. By the height of the cocktail era,Plymouth was synonymous with the iconic cocktails of the time. Ingredients: The Marguerite (1904) 50 ml Plymouth Gin 25 ml French Vermouth 1 dash of Orange bitters Method: Shake ingredients with ice and pour into a very chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with either a lemon twist or an olive. You can try experimenting with your quantities of gin and vermouth: more vermouth makes a 'wetter' drink; more gin dries it out.
The Refectory Bar is Plymouth's most exclusive cocktail lounge, situated in a unique building within the historic and world famous Plymouth Gin Distillery on Southside Street, Barbican. Serving up some of the finest cocktails in the Southwest and specialising in classic Gin based cocktails, Bar Manager Harriet Ingram and her team are trained to deliver quality service with a great selection of mixed drinks that also includes wines, bottled beers, Champagnes and over 120 spirits.
To add the the exclusivity of the lounge, The Refectory becomes a members bar after 7pm on a Friday and Saturday.
With its chic, classy interior, The Refectory is also available for private hire and for hosting cocktail master classes. If you love the taste of classic G&Ts, vintage & forgotten to Martinis and even the bar's signature drinks, then the team of expert mixologists can teach you how to make them at home.

A vote for
Independents
Much has changed over the past 20 years on our typical British 'high street'. Technological innovations, economic pressures, ever evolving products, tastes and strategies have influenced the landscape as well as our shopping trends. The growth of out-of-town shopping, compounded by the impact of on-line retailing has created enormous challenges for the traditional high street and especially for local, independent traders as they battle with adapting to change but also maintaining their uniqueness and independence. With tougher economic conditions gripping the UK since 2008, coupled with many national chains severing their links, the traditional high street is now showing signs of reverting back to an older model - when Britain was considered a 'nation of shopkeepers'.
Unique Items:
Independent shops are the perfect place for a unique gift or item. Typically, a local trader will focus on local producers whether they be a local artist, designer, author or farmer - items that you will not see on the shelves of a national chain.
Boost to the local economy:
Recent research suggest that 63 pence in the pound spent at a local, independent retailer would find its way back into the local economy, compared to just 40p with a larger business.
With many national chains severing their links, the traditional high street is now showing signs of reverting back to an older model - when Britain was considered a 'nation of shopkeepers'. If you ever wondered what the benefits of using Independent shops may be to you, your town and the local economy, then read on:
Traceability:
Most local retailers will know exactly where they or their provider gets their products from. This enables your independent retailer to let you know where the product was made/grown giving peace of mind as the purchaser. With recent scandals involving supermarkets and 'meat' providers this extremely sensitive situation can be avoided.
48 woinplymouth
Increase in house prices:
The impact of a thriving independent high street has a knock-on effect to the cost of local house prices. On average, house prices in a prosperous area such as these have risen by ÂŁ40,000.
Community:
Continuing the community theme – as more towns promote and support local retailers, in turn local retailers will support the local community by holding events, fayres and markets to entice more people into the local community as well as add a 'social' aspect to area.
Personal touch:
As soon as you walk into an independent shop you immediately notice the difference. Not only will you generally find the owner of the business on hand to give you their advice, background to the product and expert opinion but also you will inevitably find that (depending on the item) you can 'try before you buy' – giving you piece of mind and a sense of 'customer service' that has long been a distant memory for many larger businesses. You may also find that you get more for your money. How many times has there been an extra roll thrown in for a familiar face to the local bakery or a little discount when purchasing a couple of items. Again, something that is alien to the big chain and certainly something the member of staff will not be sanctioned to give.
Choice:
Having Independent retailers within any shopping district gives us as buyers choice. Many town centres and high streets have recently been criticised for being 'cloned' - offering the same uniformed goods, products and services. As we all have different tastes and styles, independent retailers can offer this choice which adds something different to what would be a very boring high street. With the years busiest shopping period on the horizon, we take a look at some of the best areas of the city to find Independent retailers and even highlight some that desrve a special mention.

And if the arrival of Christmas and a significant anniversary weren’t enough Val and Richard have also launched Furniture Revolution – breathing new life into old furniture. Both the restyled furniture and paint are now also available at Marie Hewitt Interiors and Art Source Gallery at Cargo 2, Millbay. “We started stocking Everlong chalk paint and furniture accessories such as knobs,” explained Richard. “After training and building on our previous experience we have been restyling furniture for sale or restyling or just recolouring our customers’ furniture in situ or at our workshop.” So it looks like the next decade will prove to be just as busy for this gifted pair.

property As 2016 comes to a close, we ask some of Plymouth's most respected voices to comment on how they feel the property market has performed. We also ask them to dust off their crystal balls, to see if they can predict what 2017 will have in store.
Darren Desmond Hindhead Property It’s that time of year again where everyone starts to look forward to celebrating what has been another busy year for the Plymouth housing market. It has been an interesting year for us at Hindhead Property as we opened our first high street branch in Mannamead in December last year. We set out to offer something different to vendors, landlords, buyers and tenants, by having extended opening hours where clients are able to speak to a human about their property at 20:00 in the evening if they wanted to.
Scott Parry Atwell Martin
2016 has been a mixed bag of activity in the residential property market here in Plymouth. The first quarter saw a flurry of sales particularly from investors seeking to beat the second home stamp duty changes, ironically there is now a growing clamour for the Government to revisit this legislation and we hope for a positive announcement perhaps in the Autumn Statement. No one needs to be reminded that the second quarter was taken up by the European Referendum and this undoubtedly had a negative effect on the market, during this period vendors and purchasers alike paused for breath whilst they waited for the outcome. Immediately after the vote and indeed ever since we have had a growing “supply and demand” problem with our new buyer registration levels up by 23% and viewings booked up by 34% when compared with last year, we have not seen new stock levels increasing in a similar trend and buyers are increasingly reporting difficulty in finding property that suits their requirements. Unusually we are heading into Winter with a large portfolio of active buyers and there is no reason why you should not be talking to us if you are contemplating marketing your property – why wait until the Spring! We continue to launch fresh initiatives to expose your property to the widest possible audience including a completely new website – www.atwellmartin.co.uk and a London and Surrey Show on the 4th and 5th November, the show is being held in conjunction with The Guild of Property Professionals and our associate London Office on Park Lane.
72 woinplymouth
No one needs to be reminded that the second quarter was taken up by the European Referendum and this undoubtedly had a negative effect on the market. Looking forward to 2017 there is no doubt that the Government will have its work cut out negotiating beneficial terms for our exit from the European Union, there are mixed messages coming from both the financial sector and big business and quite how this will affect the market is difficult to predict. One thing that we can be sure of is that Plymouth and the surrounding countryside will remain popular as a “lifestyle” destination, bolstered by our beautiful and accessible waterfront. We are also home to major employers including Plymouth University, Derriford Hospital, Princess Yachts International and of course Devonport Dockyard. Our buyers recognise these combination of factors and are choosing Plymouth as their Westcountry home because for many it offers the elusive perfect “work/life” balance that we all dream of.
Our industry is continuing to evolve and we have set ourselves up to offer the best of both worlds – a visible high street presence coupled with a state of the art interactive website where viewings and appraisals can be requested online as well as extended opening hours. I am pleased to report that our model has proved popular with many clients. By having fully licensed and qualified staff we have found, through reviews, comments and recommendations that investing the time and money into our staff that our clients are seeing the benefits in smoother transactions, better prices achieved or less rent going unpaid. Hindhead Property have continued to create jobs with our team expanding by four in the last couple of months. As well as opening our second branch in Keyham our belief that the property market will remain stable moving in to next year has given us the confidence to invest in our third branch that will open in St. Budeaux in early 2017. Whilst many agents are opening ‘super’ offices where one branch services the whole City, we believe that good old face to face estate agency at a competitive price offering good value is what clients really want. Our fantastic ARLA qualified lettings team are always on the hunt for new landlords and we are delighted that many are now starting to move their portfolios over to our management team. If you are a landlord and have a few minutes spare over the holiday period, why not call in and have a chat with the team and find out how we can tailor a package for you? We may even be able to rustle up a mince pie and glass of wine! We have some of the most qualified staff in the industry working for us at Hindhead Property and even if you are just after some advice on your home move, whether it be in the sales or lettings market, we would be delighted to hear from you on 01752 875075.
Running out of Ammo… Chairman of the BSA, Dick Jenkins
"
In all my years involved in the housing market, I have never seen the Government so energised about trying to solve the house building shortfall.
"
Whilst arrears and repossessions rose, the level of stress on household budgets has been far less acute than in the previous recession, even though this has been a hard few years for many families. The Financial Crisis of 2008 onwards has been met by a very different policy response to the previous recession of 1989-1993. In that earlier recession, the crisis was made much worse for home owners because it was characterised by high interest rates and high levels of unemployment, a lethal combination which gave rise to record levels of arrears and home repossessions. Move the clock forward 20 or so years and the Bank of England; now independent from the Government, has been far more active in throwing everything but the kitchen sink into trying to stimulate the economy. Interest rates went from a norm position of 5-7% in the period before 2008 to just 0.5% in March 2009 and have stayed there since, except in the last couple of months when the Bank’s Base Rate has been cut even further to just one quarter of one percent. Not that the Bank has acted alone in this regard. Central Banks throughout the developed world have done the same and doubtless can be credited with staving off an even worse crisis.
Back in the summer, the Bank of England signalled that it may cut rates further still and announced a package of measures, including further squillions of pounds of cheap funding designed to keep lenders lending. But when we looks at those countries which have taken down rates to below zero (in which banks are charging customers to keep their money with them, rather than paying any interest at all on savings), the Governor of the Bank of England doesn’t appear to like what he sees and is telling the politicians that he has now pretty well pulled all of the levers that he has and it’s time for the Government to do the rest.
The Bank of England is running out of ammunition. So the Government is starting to think that borrowing money to invest in infrastructure could be a great way of stimulating the economy not least because large swathes of the electorate are clearly fed up with austerity. Besides, borrowing is cheap in the current climate, and; let’s face
it; there is no shortage of important things the Government could be spending money on. Like housing for instance. Every way you cut it; politically, economically or socially, the inability of Britain to build enough houses is a major problem. It has been calculated that Britain needs at least 250,000 new homes a year; the last year in which this number of new homes were built was some 40 years ago in the 1970’s. There are a number of obstacles which would need to be addressed to solve this problem, the planning system, freeing up the land market, the structure of incentives for developers who; acting rationally, tend to sit on land banks and are prone to boom and bust in a stop-go market. Solving the problem of finance for would be first time buyers has been a priority for the Government, and laudably so, but it’s only a part of the equation. In all my years involved in the housing market, I have never seen the Government so energised about trying to solve the house building shortfall. It’s a massive, complex task; 40 years of under investment won’t be sorted by Thursday teatime. Let’s just hope that it stays at the top of the political agenda long enough to make a difference.

Healthy sales at Cavanna’s 504K thanks to ideal location Location is proving to be a key selling point for Cavanna Homes’ major Plymouth development 504K.
Owners are now moving in to the latest phase, which will ultimately see 275 new homes at the flagship Derriford site.
"
Sales Manager for Cavanna Homes Karen Heywood-Cann said: “504K continues to attract a wide range of purchasers, from first-time buyers to families to retired people.
Each home has dedicated parking, and all are designed to offer efficient, low-maintenance living with PVC-u double glazed windows. Some homes also have solar panels. For peace of mind, all homes come with a 10-year NHBC Buildmark Warranty, in addition to Cavanna’s award-winning two-year customer service package.
The Constable features two en-suite bedrooms, a kitchen/dining room and separate living room with a downstairs cloakroom, in addition to a dedicated parking space.
504K continues to attract a wide range of purchasers, from first-time buyers to families to retired people. “Because of its fantastic location it is proving very popular with staff from Derriford Hospital, who appreciate the convenience of being able to walk to work. 504K is attracting people who live elsewhere in Plymouth and the surrounding areas, but we are also finding that people who are relocating from other parts of the country are moving here too." As well as being ideally located for Derriford, the development is also close to the University of St Mark and St John, the Plymouth Science Park and a wide range of local amenities. Situated off Plymbridge Lane, near Tavistock Road, it is also only a few minutes’ drive from the Devon Expressway, and 15 minutes from the city centre. It is also well served by Plymouth’s public transport network, and new buyers get a free six-month bus pass as part of a dedicated Travel Plan. The development is made up of a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes, in a combination of finishes with a variety of renders, slate and timber cladding.

In independent surveys of new home purchasers, more than 90 per cent said they would recommend Cavanna to family and friends. Cavanna are one of only eight companies throughout Great Britain to have earned this coveted accolade for four years in a row. The team building 504K have also been honoured by the industry for the high standards of their work. Ian Rankin was named regional Site Manager of the Year in the 2015 Building Safety Group awards, which followed a prestigious Pride in the Job Award presented to him in 2014 from the National House Building Council (NHBC). Newly released, phase 2C of the development offers a range of nine different house types, from the Redwing one-bedroom coach-house to the three-bedroom Stokesay III townhouse and the four-bedroom Barnard, which comes with an integral garage.
