OUR VISION Every individual – no matter their disability – who wants to find and express their creativity can do so at the Indefinite Arts Centre.
OUR MISSION The Indefinite Arts Centre provides artistic training, creation, and exhibition opportunities for people – of all ages – with developmental disabilities, and shares the power of their creativity by advocating for their inclusion in the contemporary arts locally and abroad.
Thanks to support from the Rozsa Foundation, Indefinite Arts Centre staff have led the development of our Compass which will guide all aspects of our organization. Our team of staff and volunteers will look to our Compass as we continue to innovate and find new ways to support our remarkable artists.
excellence. We are an arts organization, supporting artists in reaching new levels of excellence. We strive for the highest standards in every facet of our work. We offer our artists the best platforms for training, creation, and exhibitions.
We believe in excellence, and that our artists deserve nothing less. This pursuit of excellence needs to permeate through every level of our organization, including the support of staff and volunteers to advance their competencies that, in turn, will improve the many ways we support our artists. At the core of our programming, we employ artists who have an unwavering passion for teaching and mentoring. Their aim will always be to deliver the highest standards in artistic training, creation, and exhibitions for our artists.
courage. We are unapologetic social change agents. We always challenge the status quo. We have the courage to ask questions and test societal assumptions about diversity and inclusion.
Our artists face tremendous barriers, and there are norms and assumptions around matters of diversity and inclusion that should always be challenged – particularly in the arts and culture sector. We are courageous because we believe in our role – and our artists’ role – in shifting perceptions around disabilities, and advocating for meaningful social change that puts our artists on a level playing field with others.
empowerment. We empower our team and our artists to harness opportunities to succeed and push boundaries. We empower our team and our artists to seek their fullest potential.
We can only succeed when we empower ourselves and others. We give our artists the autonomy and platform to explore the opportunities and rewards of their talents. Our organization also empowers staff by giving them the tools necessary to advance their professional development.
