Introducing Natalie Cleghorn, S enior Winemaker, Nagambie Estate
In a major coup, Halliday-rated 5-star Victorian winery Mitchelton, has appointed highly regarded winemaker Natalie Cleghorn as Senior Winemaker of its Nagambie Estate.
The former Katnook Estate Senior Winemaker/Site manager takes up her new position, bringing over 23 years of experience as a winemaker/ wine show judge and a passion for winemaking to Nagambie’s iconic Mitchelton Estate.
“I am a history buff and I adore telling stories about the wines I make, so the opportunity to be part of a historic Australian brand is a great honour. As the custodian of this iconic brand, I am excited to be given the opportunity to continue the Mitchelton story and make great wines that speak of the vineyards and place.” Says the two-time finalist for Australian Women in Wine, and Winemaker of the year awards. Since its first vines were planted in 1969 Mitchelton has grown to become Central Victoria’s most iconic producer of wine. Today, Mitchelton produces several wine brands including Preece, Mitchelton Estate, Blackwood Park, and the newly introduced Gabriella Possum Nungurrayi Collection.
Mitchelton aims to elevate its reputation as a maker of wines displaying the unique regional characteristics of its award-winning estate-grown varieties capturing the heritage, landscape, and people of the region.
