According to an unofficial traffic crash report provided by the Selmer Police Department, Eric Lemilliere was driving a 1999 Honda Civic UCE when he rear-ended 2008 Chevy SK1 driven by Terry Marbar as he was slowing to turn off Poplar Ave. near the intersection of West Court Ave. Lemilliere was then reported to have fled the scene after backing up and driving around Marbar’s vehicle and speeding down Court Ave. The accident caused ex-

Fire consumes Bethel Springs buildings By Jeff Whitten Head News Writer

Firefighters from Selmer Fire Department, the Bethel Springs, McNairy County, Finger and McNairy volunteer fire departments battled a blaze in the old grocery store building and an abandoned building behind it last Friday between Front and Main Streets in Bethel Springs. The fire started in the building behind the grocery store and spread to it, burning the back of it. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to County Fire Chief Darrell Goodrum.
