Holiday Giving Programs As we enter into the holiday season, The Retreat has announced the agency’s annual Holiday Giving Programs. In the true spirit of the season, The Retreat asks supporters to join together in brightening the holiday experience of courageous families affected by domestic violence. During the holiday season, an increasing amount of families seek out The Retreat’s services. Many women and children find that during the holidays, domestic violence increases due to money problems, and increasing amounts of alcohol and drug use. The most peaceful time of year, sadly, can be the hardest. In an effort to infuse light into some of the dark realities these families have to face, The Retreat is looking for help in providing sur vivor families with a joyful holiday experience during Thanksgiving and the December holidays. S u pp or te r s ma y co nt ri b u t e to The Retreat’s Thanksgiving Gift Card Drive. The agency asks for gift cards to local food stores so that clients can shop on their own and provide a fruitful Thanksgiving experience for their families. Please send gift cards to The Retreat at 13 Goodfriend Drive, East Hampton, New York 11937 by Tuesday. Supporters can also consider offering support to The Retreat’s annual Adopt-A-Family Program by donating holiday presents or gift cards for a family in need. Call The Retreat’s Holiday Help Line at 631329-4398 and ask for Christiana or Lisa, to lear n more about becoming involved in brightening the holiday season for survivors of domestic violence.

by Asher Lee ARIES (Mar. 20 - Apr. 20) A rush of ideas followed by a flurry of activity. This is the energy this week. Take out a pen and paper and make some lists so you can keep track of all those ideas and when you finish one project another will be ready and waiting. It is a great time to get stuff done, so make a plan. TAURUS (Apr. 20 - May 21) The energy gets a bit heavy this week. Try to avoid the part of you that wants to go to the worst-case scenario place. Beat your fears into submission since right now all fear will be bigger than is probably necessary. Take a breath and trust all that has led you to this place and trust yourself into the future. GEMINI (May 21 - June 22) Take some alone time when you need it and gather your strength. It’s not a time to check out, simply a time to refuel. Mercury, your ruler, will finish its retrograde motion and you will feel better by the end of the week, as will everyone around you! CANCER (June 22 - July 23) Find a way to communicate that uses few words, but gets to the heart of the matter. You will most likely need to conserve your energy this week, so make the most of each little thing, including your words. Find a way to be heard and understood. LEO (July 23 - Aug. 23) Nice and creative time right now, so do take a moment and find something creative to do. It doesn’t have to be a big thing; it could be re-organizing your silverware, or putting down new shelf liner paper. All of those mundane things can be a creative experience. Do your best to bring things, ideas, and people together. VIRGO (Aug. 23 - Sept. 23) Hang out with a Leo and be inspired to do something creative! If you tune in to your energy, it will lead you to the next creative thing to do. You will just have to shut off the chatter that is telling you everything you have to do. Listen and FEEL what you want to do and try doing that. LIBRA (Sept. 23 - Oct. 23) You are right to be waiting for that new idea, that moment of clarity that will help you know what to do. A situation that has seemed vague will most likely find its resolve this week. Be ready to jump on that moment of clarity. SCORPIO (Oct. 23 - Nov. 22) I
know you love everything intense, but this may not be the time to indulge that part of you that goes to the crazy places. Check your energy and try to feel when you are centered and ‘normal’ and then when the crazy person starts to take control. Look for that shift in the energy and do your best to make a different choice.

Today’s Birthday: Emma Stone, 1988
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21) A little detachment will take you far this week. Things can get sticky as your ruler moves through the sign of Cancer, so try to stay detached from what people are doing and not doing and you may need to keep your opinions to yourself. I know it’s hard, but other people do it all the time. CAPRICORN (Dec. 21 - Jan. 20) This should be the week when the energy breaks free. A small gathering of planets in your sign should open up the energy so you can see clearly what you need to let go of and where things really have to change. When in doubt throw it out; clean out your closets and make room for the new. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20 - Feb. 19) Your spirit of rebellion is high right now, so make sure you know what you are rebelling about and what you want to move toward. Don’t rebel just because it is an option, get clear on what you truly want and make sure that you don’t rebel against exactly what you are looking for. PISCES (Feb. 19 - Mar. 20) Time for some calm negotiation. Do your best to stay rational and detached and just make sure you show up. You may need a short rest, but make sure that you get back up and stay in the game. You can effect the situation and there is nothing to lose by telling the truth. NOTE: If you were born at the end or beginning of a sign, read the sign before and after your birthday. Asher Lee is a professional Astrologer and Tarot reader. Emily Stone grew up on the grounds of a Country Club in Arizona and made up her mind to be an actress early on. In fact, she appeared in 16 local stage productions before she had even graduated from grammar school. She dropped out of high school when she was 15 and moved to Hollywood with her mother to pursue a professional acting career. They found out another actress had already registered with the Screen Actors Guild as “Emily Stone,” so Emma Stone was born. Stone found regular work on assorted TV series and then landed a role in Superbad opposite an equally young Jonah Hill. Offers began rolling in, and Stone landed roles in several more films, including Paper Man (which was partially shot in Montauk) in 2009 and Easy A her first starring role, released in 2011. The latter earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She hosted “Saturday Night Live” later that year. Stone also had pivotal roles in The Help and The Amazing Spider Man. She won the prestigious Screen Actors Guild Award for her work in The Help, and three People’s Choice awards for Spiderman. She recently signed on to appear in Woody Allen’s next project. Stone now lives in Greenwich Village with her co-star from Spiderman, Andrew Garfield.
