Socks that Keep Your Feet Warm as Toast and Make a Great Holiday Gift 6 Tips to Keep Your Feet Warm & Toasty Plus 50% Off Each 2nd Pair of Wigwam Socks 1. Don’t wear cotton socks in the winter. They absorb perspiration, stay damp, wet and suck your body heat away. It doesn’t even matter if your wearing a well insulated boot—don’t wear cotton socks in the winter. 2. Wear wool socks (or synthetic fiber if you’re allergic to wool) they insulate even when wet. 3. Wear polypropylene or silk liner socks under your wool (or synthetic) socks. Liners do not absorb liquid so your perspiration passes through them into the outer sock. The liners next to your skin always stay dry. Your feet perspire 6-24 oz. a day depending on activity level. Keeping the fabric next to your skin dry is the best thing you can do to keep your feet warm. 4. Wigwam has developed a new sock (called Fusion) that combines the sock liner and the outer sock into one piece of fabric. 5. Reread #1 and apply it to all the clothing you wear. 6. If your feet are still cold, use mini-heat pads or consult a podiatrist.

East Hampton Day Care
On Sunday the East Hampton Day Care Center held a fundraiser at The Palm in East Hampton. Clockwise from top; Natalie di Martini, Arlene Notel, Beth Johnson, Frank Quevada; Barbara Edwards, Murray Lopdell-Lawrence and Jim Edwards; Chini Alarco Whitmore and Dr. Anne Testa; Fabiola Sandoval and Aurely Castillo.
Hamptons artists and galleries were in the spotlight at the 23rd Art Miami and its new sister art fair CONTEXT Art Miami. The first days were marked with record breaking attendance and numerous sales. Southampton’s Jeff Muh’s work was shown by Chicago’s KM Fine Arts and Kevin Berlin was shown by Kasia Kay. Bridgehampton gallery owner Mark Borghi exhibited Warhol and Lichtenstein. Both Palm Beach’s Arcature and Miami’s 101 Exhibit showcased works Larry Rivers, a longtime Hamptons favorite. Eric Fischl whose triptych “Scarsdale” was a major hit at the opening of the new Parrish Art Museum was shown by three galleries: Contessa Gallery, Jim Kempner Fine Art and Mark Borghi Fine Art. Works by Chuck Close were shown by no less than five galleries - Contessa Gallery, Pace Prints, Jim Kempner Fine Art, Zadok Gallery and Shaheen Modern and Contemporary Art. One of the highlights of the CONTEXT Art Fair was the controversial “Banksy Out of Context” presented Art Miami, in conjunction with new-photo sharing platform I PXL U founded by noted Southampton gallery owner Stephan Keszler. Seen around the fair were East Hampton gallery owners Vered and Janet Lehr.

On December 12, 1944 the great musician and bandleader Glenn Miller was on his way to entertain the troops fighting against Germany when his plane disappeared over the English Channel. One of the most popular musical idols in American history was born on December 12 – and he was every bit as popular as Elvis, Michael Jackson, or Justin Beiber. Of course, Natalie Della (Garaventa) and Antonio Martino Sinatra never dreamed their son born on this date in 1915 would rise to such heights. In fact, the youngster, Francis, had very little ambition growing up in Hoboken, New Jersey, and was thrown out of high school after only 47 days for fighting. He worked as a delivery boy to make ends meet but always possessed a pleasant voice, and was often asked by adults to sing. As a teenager he began listening in earnest to the big band recordings of the day and decided to become a professional singer. He joined a singing group, “The Hoboken Four,” that won a radio talent contest. Harry James hired him to sing, and in 1939 Tommy Dorsey, who had the hottest band in the country, lured Sinatra away from James. By 1941 Frank Sinatra was the hottest male vocalist in the world, and young women -- his fans were dubbed bobby-soxers -- swooned and screamed and caused mass hysteria wherever Sinatra appeared (Elvis and the Beatles had the same affect on young women). The rest, as they say, is history. “The Chairman Of The Board” remained on top for more than five decades both as a vocalist (11 Grammys) and as an actor. In 1953 he earned an Oscar for his role in From Here To Eternity. Sinatra was always in the news. His love life, including marriages to Ava Gardner and Mia Farrow, was a persistent focus of the gossip magazines and tabloids. His association with organized crime figures raised eyebrows with the movie studios and the FBI; his support of John F. Kennedy helped the young senator from Massachusetts get elected president. Big band music was replaced by jazz on the charts, and then rock and roll, the British Invasion, and so on. Musical tastes changed and the radio airwaves captured the flavor of the moment. Through it all Sinatra found his way to the top of the charts with megahits like “Strangers In The Night,” “That’s Life,” It Was A Very Good Year,” and “New York, New York” among them. His rendition of “My Way,” released in 1967 at the height of the British Invasion, is still one of the most requested songs of all time. “Old Blue Eyes,” proud, defiant, emotional, and passionate, died in 1998, and he went out on top -- his way. ARIES (Mar. 20 - Apr. 20) A week designed to renew your strength. Take whatever alone time you need and surround yourself with your favorite things and feel the renewal. You are strong. You will survive, so take some time for yourself.
All you’ve ever wanted was family -- however you define it -- people around you that love you. They are here for you, just ask for help and you will see how much love is here for you. Just ask.
TAURUS (Apr. 20 - May 21) What new things would you like to initiate? Now is the time for you to be clear about what new things you want to add to your life. Some things have probably already made themselves known, so open yourself to receive all that is good.
LEO (July 23 - Aug. 23) You may need to take a different look at your life. Are you seeing all that IS working, all that IS going well? Or are you lost in being focused on what is messed up and not working? Get focused on the good stuff and you will surely create more of that. Focus is key.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 22) Love given and received in equal measure is what you deserve and what you have earned the right to have. Look at your relationships and all those you align yourself with and take a good objective look to see if things are equitable. If not, make some different choices.
VIRGO (Aug. 23 - Sept. 23) Magic is in the air, so you will have to disregard most of what you see and trust that the Universe is working another plan beneath the surface. Just because you cannot fathom a successful outcome doesn’t mean you are right. Trust the magic of the Universe.
CANCER (June 22 - July 23) Open yourself to the love that is around you.
LIBRA (Sept. 23 - Oct. 23) How are you defining success these days?
www.indyeastend.com
If you pull back and see the bigger picture of your life, does it seem more successful than you may be feeling in this moment? Make choices that support your version of a successful life and make everyone else mind their own business. SCORPIO (Oct. 23 - Nov. 22) Time for some alone time. Really. You need to take a break from social things and activity for activity’s sake and spend some good quality time with yourself. Alone time is the best way to process all that has gone on in recent weeks, so give yourself some hermit time. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21) You will have to make an extra effort to be prudent during this time. The energy seems to be pulling you in the direction of “bigger is better” and ‘more is best,” but it is an illusion. You will need to do your best to do things one step at a time. Less is more. CAPRICORN (Dec. 21 - Jan. 20) You don’t have to defend yourself or justify your choices to anyone. If you catch yourself doing just that, take a step back and find some other way to communicate. No defending, no

fighting, just the truth. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20 - Feb. 19) Finding a good way to communicate what is on your mind is ver y important right now. Some may not be able to hear you, just because of your style. Find a compromising and compassionate, heart to heart, way to speak so you can be heard. PISCES (Feb. 19 - Mar. 20) You will need to be authentic right now. In order to do that – guilt, duty and obligation will have to come out of the mix. Once you get those pesky ideas out of the way you can be sure you are being authentic. Try it. NOTE: If you were born at the end or beginning of a sign, read the sign before or after your birthday. mar vel and Martin Freeman is wonderful as Bilbo. Nevertheless, there is a sense that Jackson has stretched things out and diluted the story, and the guess here is the public might well lose interest before the finale, assuming the third film is released during our lifetime. Still, it’s well worth seeing.

Deadfall (R) A big heist goes awry, and the siblings behind it split in a blinding snowstorm. It’s a crime caper, it’s a love story, and it’s a family drama. The actors, though, turn in quality performances and hold things together. Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde are the star-crossed brother and sister. Charlie Hunnam, Sissy Spacek, and Kris Kristofferson co-star. Give it a try.
New On DVD The Dark Knight Rises Christian Bale returns as Batman/Bruce Wayne four years after the last megahit. As was the case the last time, the film is too long at 165 minutes, and all the action sequences begin to wear. Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, and Anne Hathaway co-star. Tom Hardy gets the plum role as the villain that

Now Playing Playing For Keeps (PG-13) Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit Of Happiness) brings us this run-ofthe mill romantic comedy about a professional soccer star (Gerard Butler) who comes home to regroup. It is clichéd, but the film has its moments – just don’t expect it to be more than it is. Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Dennis Quaid co-star. The Collection (R ) Elena (played by Emma Fitzpatrick) is excited about going to a secret party set up by her friends, but her joy turns to terror when she is instead brought to a horror chamber of torture and gore. Yeah, it’s one of those. May the blood flow in a theater near you during this joyous holiday season. Add a star if you are 16 and have been left back more than twice.
