the sales by doing their latest campaign, modeling along side my sister and my niece Ella Rose. All my family and I are big supporters of this bag and wear and talk about it all the time. So it’s nice to be part of this exciting adventure for my mother.

By Tamara Hayes

DJ Nick Cohen is not kidding when he says he is staying busy. Cohen is on his grind prepping for business school, getting involved in a restaurant and some projects we’re just going to have to stay tuned in to see in the future. Hampton Daze chatted with Cohen about his DJ career and what changes we can expect to see in music this year.

When did you get your start in DJing? Eight years ago I used to DJ a bar on the Lower East Side for peanuts and free beer as a way to make a couple bucks and throw parties for my friends to hang out at. Most memorable gig? French Vogue’s 90th anniversary. Carine Roitfeld hired me to play a Disco Masquerade ball at what was formerly Karl Lagerfeld’s Mansion in Paris. Fun! Serato or Tracktor? CDJs or Technics? Technic 1200’s and a Rane TTM 57 mixer with Serato built in. Best Hamptons nightclub past or present? Tough one; so much turnover. Irrelevant so long as you have good crew and a bad attitude!

“musicality” and away from “over produced” records. Think Adele and her last album.

Top five most played songs on your ipod? Changes very often. In no specific order preference: “Blue Jeans” (Penguin Prison Remix) - Lana Del Ray “Nightcall” (Breakbot Remix) Kavinsky “The Walk” - Mayer Hawthorne “No No Song” - Ringo Starr “Feel So Close” - Calvin Harris “Save It For a Rainy Day” - Stephen Bishop Where can we find you when you’re not behind the wheels of steel? Being very busy living life!

What do you do when partyers have a request? Depends who is asking. Most likely ignore them!

Complete the following: When I’m in the Hamptons, I can’t leave until I go to . . . Gosman’s Dock in Montauk!

What if they write it on a $100 bill? Does Benjamin have any twin brothers?

What’s next for Nick Cohen? Business School, a restaurant and there are a few other projects brewing. Stay Busy!

What’s your signature style when it comes to entertaining the crowd? “That Nick Cohen Sound,” I have heard people call it that. To me it’s about transferring energy while not compromising musical integrity. What do you think we’ll see more of or less of in music this year? I would hope that there is a return to

At 25, Alexandra Richards is a regular 21st century renaissance woman -- she’s a celebrity DJ, an artist, and a model. Hampton Daze spoke to Richards about spinning on the beach at sunset in Uruguay, helping her mother with her handbag line and her artwork.

When did DJing peak your interest? About five years ago. I was DJing

a small bar near my apartment. It was a place where all my friends would come and just let their hair down. It was a place I started and practiced every night.

What’s your favorite city to spin in? I can’t choose one. Every place or city has such a different audience, so I like to keep that open to who I play for. Most memorable gig? Uruguay in Punta del Esta -- first time there for me. I DJed on the beach at sunset. It was so beautiful, it was a great beach party! Everyone dancing in the sand. Serato or Tracktor? CDJs or Technics? Technics and Serato. What are the pros and cons to being a DJ constantly on the road? For me in the beginning it was hard to balance the modeling jobs after a night of DJing late. I had to find ways to book my jobs around the modeling so I could rest. The pros are traveling and experiencing the cities and the different taste in music all round the world. You’re working with your mom on a handbag collection called Hung on U. Tell us about how that came about and what it’s like working so closely with a parent. It’s actually my moms handbag line. I’ve been helping out with

What comes easier: being a model or being a DJ? I’ve been modeling for a while so it’s kind of natural for me. I can’t say it’s easy but it definitely has its perks. DJing is fun for me because it is a part of me. I love music and sharing that is something I enjoy doing. I read that you went to SVA (School of Visual Arts) while DJing and modeling. Is it safe to say you’re a 21st century renaissance woman? Ha. I have been able to maintain two careers while I was at school for the two years, but each job came at its own time and doesn’t sound as stressful. I’ve had a great support system with my family and friends and have been able to keep in touch with all. I like being busy. I love to work. And I’m going to take what I can get at this time in my life. It’s important to hold on to that as long as you can. When can we expect to see your artwork on display? Hopefully this summer. I have great new projects in the works with collaborations. So I’ve been busy in the studio on my off time. Complete the following: Every time I’m in the Hamptons, I have to . . . Jump straight in the ocean, have a barbecue and watch the sunset at Little Plains with my friends. What can we expect from Alexandra Richards in the next few years? Only creative projects that hopefully inspire other people around the world. One love.

thday: Today’s BirM agler Marvelous arvin H

Marvin Hagler, is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time, a Middleweight Champion who ruled his weight class for a decade during the 80s, the heyday of boxing. Hagler was too good – no one wanted to give him a title shot. Finally, after 50 fights, he traveled to England to fight the reigning champ, Alan Minter, a Brit who had made a racially charged comment about Hagler. Hagler, who is from Newark, brutally and unmercifully took his opponent apart, and the fight was stopped after three rounds with Minter bleeding profusely. Hagler then beat the legend Roberto Duran, setting up a string of high profile fights that would make Hagler wealthy beyond his dreams. His fight with Thomas Hearns in 1985 is considered among the best of all time, three rounds of non-stop action in which a shaken Hagler prevailed. The battle is now referred to simply as “The War.” Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard staged an epic 15 round fight in 1987 that ended in a split decision for Hagler, a decision still disputed to this day. When Leonard refused to fight a rematch, Hagler retired and moved to Italy, where he became a movie star, specializing in action films. He is a member of the World Boxing Hall of Fame and was twice named Boxer of the Year and Boxer of the Decade by Ring magazine, which ranked him #17 on its list of the greatest boxers of all time. ARIES (Mar. 20 - Apr. 20) Guard against taking on too much, saying yes too much, this week. There is a great deal of conflicting energy, so it will be best to pick and choose what you put into action wisely this week. It is okay to say,

‘I’ll think about it’ when someone asks for you help. Take a beat. TAURUS (Apr. 20 - May 21) Oh, happy day. Things seem to be coming together and it is okay for you to do the happy dance. I know

also how that thinking affects those around you. It may be challenging, but keeping your head in a good place just may change everything.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 22) There has never been a better time to take a look at the bigger picture. Right now with the expansive planet Jupiter at your side you can get an overview of things like never before. The minutia is not your friend, and the big picture is.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21) Focus, focus, focus. Set a goal and then keep focused on that goal. Allow the Universe to lead you toward the goal, allow the plan to unfold before you. Your job will be to follow the signs and pay attention to the nudges of the Universe. Just stay focused on the goal.

CANCER (June 22 - July 23) There are many reasons to feel challenged, many reasons to feel forced to make changes, but can you trust even these challenging things? Trust is key above all else right now. You are being asked to adjust your original plans. If you trust the adjustments you may end up with more than you imagined. LEO (July 23 - Aug. 23) It may seem that others are blocking your way right now, but if you check in with yourself, the answer will always be within what you feel passionate about. If you are moved toward one direction and that seems blocked, then check in with yourself and find something else that moves you. VIRGO (Aug. 23 - Sept. 23) Right now in your life it is all about trusting your inner guide. Meditate or take a bath or go for a walk by the water, whatever is going to help you tune in to the inner voice. To say your intuition is high doesn’t capture the value of your intuition at this moment. Tune in and trust yourself. LIBRA (Sept. 23 - Oct. 23) Time to come clean and reveal yourself to those around you. If you have been hedging your bets and trying to protect yourself by not exposing the vulnerable parts, it is time to surrender. Not a time to battle; a time to put everything on the table. You will feel so much better and you may find that those around you reveal themselves as well.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21 - Jan. 20) This week may allow you to discover something about yourself that you previously had no idea about, or perhaps you had a little peek at this personal truth a few weeks back. It is amazing that no matter how old we are, we can still discover things about ourselves. Take a chance in a new direction. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20 - Feb. 19) One way to allow the wounds to heal is to do your best not to keep bringing up the old sad stories. The wound can become familiar and somehow comforting. Challenge this within yourself and really listen to the stories you tell and see if you can come up with a different spin, a spin that includes joy. PISCES (Feb. 19 - Mar. 20) Everything is going to be alright. Make your peace of mind the goal and know that you can have peace of mind right now. Regardless of how challenging exterior things seem right now, find the place inside you that KNOWS it will all be okay. That place is the truth. Shuckers Lobster & Clam Bar

Shuckers Lobster & Clam Bar is back for the season. The restaurant in Hampton Bays, located at The Beach Bar, hosted their grand reopening this past week. The restaurant, run by Patrick McCormack and Chef Brian Mazzio, is a seafood lovers dream. The menu includes a dish called "The Mother Shucker" which includes two lobsters, mussels, clams, shrimp skewers, a half loaf of bread and corn. The menu at Shuckers has grown since last summer, while keeping the same great deals. My friend and I started off with a few appetizers.

The sesame teriyaki marinade tuna tidbits with spiced pineapple sauce was delicious, as was the lobster spinach dip with house fried tortilla chips. Please note that all of the dishes that include lobster - and there are many - have very generous portions. For our entrees we decided on the lobster and wild mushroom risotto and a salad with heirloom grape tomatoes and fresh mozzarella over arugula and mixed greens with basil pesto and an aged balsamic reduction. Both dishes were outstanding.

Along with our meal, a few specialty cocktails, we recommend the Ponquogue punch which includes light and dark rum combined with pineapple, orange and cranberry juices.

Grilled Vegetable Wrap With Cilantro And Lime Coleslaw Ingredients (serves 4) 1 package flour tortillas 1 red pepper 1 large red onion 2 zucchini 3/4 cup cheddar cheese (shredded) 1/2 head of white cabbage (sliced very thin) 1 carrot (peeled & julienne) 1 lime 1 tbsp ground cumin 1 tsp ground black pepper 1 tsp chili powder 1 tsp old bay seasoning 1tbsp salt 2 tbsp olive oil 2 tbsp cider vinegar 1/4 cup mayonnaise 1 tbsp granulated sugar 1 hand full of cilantro (chopped)

Method Begin by pre-heating your grill.

Cut the zucchini, red pepper, and red onion into half inch thick slices. Remember to reserve a small bit of the red onion for the coleslaw. Coat the vegetables with a bit of olive oil and grill for two minutes on each side on a very hot grill. Put the grilled vegetables in a mixing bowl and cover in plastic wrap, this will steam the vegetables and finish the cooking process. To assemble the coleslaw simply place your thinly sliced carrots, cabbage, and red onion into a mixing bowl, add the juice of one lime, one tbsp of salt, mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, and the cilantro and mix well. To finish the wrap, remove the plastic from the bowl of grilled vegetables. Drain any excess liquid and season with the spice mix of cumin, chili powder, old bay, and pepper. Give the vegetables a rough chop and grill your tortillas for about

15 seconds on one side. Spread a little cheddar cheese on the side that has not been grilled and fill with a healthy portion of the grilled veggies. Wrap it up and plate with a side of the cool refreshing coleslaw. www.chefjoecipro.com
