Breaking limitations and climbing up the ladder
KAILEN Chetty began his journey with Jackpersad & Partners Inc in January 2021 as a young radiographer appointed to the Lenmed Shifa Private Hospital radiology department.
His time there, although brief, was essential in helping him adjust to the company’s environment, protocols and workflow.

“I realised the standard of work expected of me and worked hard to ensure that I met those expectations. The radiology department at Shifa was so pleasant and willing to help me understand more about the company and its expectations.
In May 2021, Chetty took his foundational knowledge to Life Chatsmed Garden Hospital’s radiology department. The move was for logistical purposes, as he lived closer to this radiology department and was able to gain experience working with an MRI scanner.
“Shifa gave me the grounding I needed to adjust to working in the company. At Chatsmed Hospital, I was able to refine my skills, expand my knowledge and grow even more as a radiographer. The staff members at Shifa Hospital were essential in ensuring that I succeed in the company, while at Chatsmed Hospital, the staff helped ensure that I push through my limitations and better myself in every way possible.”
In April 2022, Chetty took on a new role and joined the IT department as the new picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) administrator – a role which had intrigued him as a student.
“I would always be more drawn to the science and technical aspects of radiography. The ways in which systems could be put together, how X-rays were generated and how images were stored. These were aspects of radiography that interested me as a student and what drew me to the PACS administrator role.
“Along this incredible journey with Jackpersad & Partners Inc, I have not just grown as a radiographer but also as a person. I have met and worked alongside some of the most incredible people who would go out of their way to assist you and who wouldn’t hesitate to teach you new skills, ensuring that everyone is able to develop together.
“If you told me in January 2021 that in just 16 months I would go from a radiographer to a PACS administrator, I would have called you crazy. Nonetheless, here I am; continuing to learn, grow and develop.
“I am grateful to Jackpersad & Partners Inc for the opportunities they have given me. Since my first day, I have always been encouraged to better myself in any way I can and the company has stood by me. To my managers and colleagues, both past and present, I thank you for your support and guidance on this journey. I am proud to be part of such a company and I hope that I can contribute to the continued growth and progression of JPI for as long as I am able to.”
