SENIOR HIGH SKI TRIP

WHO CAN GO? This trip is designed for any student currently in 9th through 12th grade. HOW DO I REGISTER? Signing up is a two-step process:

1 2

Go to www.skidaddy.com/indepres, and complete all of the required information under “sign up” and then submit your request to join the trip. You will also be directed to a “release of liability and waiver” form for the ski resort that you will need to complete. Then go to www.indepres.org/ministries/ senior-high/ski-trip. There you will find two forms: IPC’s medical/liability release form and IPC’s personal/contact information form. We will need a medical/liability release form for every student attending this trip. However, we only need a personal/contact information form if we don’t already have one on file for your student (i.e., your student hasn’t attended a trip with us during 2015). Please send your form(s) to: Independent Presbyterian Church, Ski IPC, 4738 Walnut Grove Rd., Memphis, TN 38117. Included with these forms should be a $300 deposit, payable to IPC, with the student’s name written in the memo line. This deposit should not be placed in the offering plate.

COST The base cost of the trip is $950, which includes round-trip bus transportation, four nights of lodging at YMCA’s Snow Mountain Ranch, four days of both breakfast and dinner, three days of lift tickets, and basic ski rentals (including a helmet). However, if you sign up BEFORE SEPTEMBER 16, you will SAVE $100, making the total cost of the trip $850. The trip cost DOES NOT include:

• Several Meals (on the road, at the ski resort) While four breakfasts and four dinners WILL BE provided, students will need to be prepared to purchase at least five fast food meals on the road, and four lunches at the ski resort. Therefore, a minimum of $100 in spending money is necessary for those meals. • Ski Lessons Anyone is welcome to take a lesson, but if you have never skied (or snowboarded) before, you are REQUIRED to take a lesson. This will be included in your total balance due to IPC. The cost of a lesson is $89/day. It is a full day and includes your lunch.

• Ski or Snowboarding Upgrades A snow board rental is $5/day; performance snowboard or skis are $16/day, high performance snowboard/skis are $20; and demo snowboard/skis are $24/day. This will be added to your total balance due to IPC. • A Fourth Day of Skiing Though some students will be exhausted from skiing all week/staying up late on New Year’s Eve, others will want to take advantage of a fourth day of skiing. We are offering this opportunity to those who are interested. The cost of this extra day is $85 and will be added to your total balance due to IPC. PAYMENTS A $300 deposit is required in order to sign up. The remaining balance will then be due by Sunday, November 12. Note: All deposits and payments are non-refundable unless we are able to replace the spot. (There is trip insurance available through skidaddy.com.)

WAITING LIST As of right now, we are only planning to take one 56-passenger bus for this trip. Once those spots are reserved, we will then begin compiling a waiting list. However, should this waiting list reach a number that would justify taking a second bus, we would consider doing so. A second bus should not be assumed, and so with limited space and an incentive to sign up early, students are encouraged to act quickly to reserve their spot. SKI TRIP PARENT/STUDENT MEETING Participating students and at least one parent/ guardian should be in attendance for a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, December 2, from 5:40–6:20 p.m. in the Senior High space. JOB OPPORTUNITIES/SCHOLARSHIPS If a student is interested in this trip, but money is a concern, financial assistance is available for those willing to work.
