Visiting high mountains in pursuit of fun and adventure, when the temperatures are down to minus 25-degree Celcius, may be a common thing, but thinking of tying the knot in such harsh weather conditions is a rare happening. Travel creator and YouTuber Aarya Voraa did the same by taking ‘saat phera’ (seven steps) with her mate, Ranjeet Srinivas, setting an extraordinary record under the banner of India Book of Records (IBR). The duo embarked on an extraordinary trip to the hills to tie the knot amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Kaza in the Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. Their story is not just about love; it’s a testament to adventure, resilience, and the boundless possibilities of following one’s heart and making every minute of it memorable.

The wedding was conducted with Hindu rituals at the altitude of 12,500 feet above sea level, marking a unique celebration at Kaza, a town and the subdivisional headquarters of the remote Spiti Valley in the western Himalayas. The daring travel vlogger from Mumbai drove an SUV 4x4 from Chandigarh on February 23, 2024, and completed the journey at Kaza in Spiti Valley on February 26, 2024, covering a total distance of 1200 km, where the wedding mandap was set up amidst snowy mountains at an icy minus 25-degree temperature. Her husband Ranjeet is a professional settled in Dubai. Both have a passion for adventure and traveling. Despite coming from different parts of India, their love knew no boundaries, uniting them in a tale filled with wanderlust and affection. Their wedding was not a mere event, but an epic journey spanning miles of rugged and adventurous terrain.

The daring love birds exchanged vows amidst snowfall, making their wedding ceremony a fairy tale spectacle that will be etched in their memories forever. The India Book of Records recognized their daring act as the ‘Longest Road Trip Wedding Expedition’. This remarkable achievement symbolized their unwavering commitment to adventure and each other. Moreover, their wedding was an ode to environmental responsibility, leaving no trace behind and setting an example for eco-friendly celebrations everywhere. The medal and the record certificate were handed over to the young couple in Mumbai at a special felicitation program by Seema Manikkoth, an adjudicator from the India Book of Records.
