PACS Aims & Objectives PACS is a non-governmental organization, which is started by the UK Government’s Department for Global Development. The Poorest Areas Civil Society (PACS) refers to an institution that targets to diminish the gap between the high living standard and socially backward people. This programme is funded by National Advisory Board India, the Regional Project Selection Committee, general public and private corporations. Since the foundation, Regional Project Selection Committee's (RPSCs) have been engaged in appraising & evaluating PACS projects. To make sure that the projects are going rightly, the RPSCs constantly examine progress statements given by the IFIRST Consortium. Following are two RPSCs that work for the welfare of the socially backward people: • The Eastern Regional Project Selection Committee (ERPSC) • The Central Regional Project Selection Committee (CRPSC)


Long-Term Targets PACS have a vision, a set target that works for the welfare of the socially backward groups in India to aid them request their claims and rights. The organization targets to help the below mentioned socially backward groups: Scheduled caste (SC) groups It has been seen that people come in this category face discrimination in one or several ways. These citizens are compelled to live at a specified distance from the rest of the society. Scheduled caste (SC) groups According to the published reports, these groups normally live in faraway forest regions and often talk a different language. Regions settled by these socially backward groups incline to be abundant in mineral and natural resources. Women A female child or lady in India experience gender differentiation at each phase of their life, beginning even prior they exist. A female child coming into this social backward group experiences bigger challenges.


People having physical disabilities Individuals who are physically handicap face public and physical hurdles to examining solutions and livelihood possibilities. Several organizations, government, bazaars and places of employment are, small or medium, not fitted up to allow the complete involvement of people with physical disabilities. Therefore, handicap leads to poverty, and unemployment increases disability. Due to all these reasons, PACS came into existence to provide help to these social backward groups. PACS is supported by a National Advisory Board of India to execute all the day-to-day activities.
