The Ph.D. in Global Leadership will require a minimum of 66 credits of doctoral-level coursework.
All coursework is taught by outstanding faculty, many of whom have national and international leadership experience.
Research Core
Our students are provided outstanding, cutting-edge courses that prepare them for the academic world of research and writing. These six courses will focus on research methods, scholarly inquiry and technical writing, critical analysis of literature and statistical analysis. The research core will prepare the student for the development of the dissertation phase.
Global Leadership Core
The global leadership core provides six courses exploring leadership topics related to change, communications, ethics, social responsibility, teamwork and global strategy.
Leadership Concentrations
Students choose a concentration consisting of six courses totaling 18 credits: Organizational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, a combination of the two, or Global Health Leadership. Indiana Tech’s Ph.D. program also offers a special pathway created specifically for students who have earned their Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). MBA graduates can transfer 15 credit hours of their graduate coursework toward a Ph.D. from Indiana Tech.*
Dissertation
The dissertation is the culmination of the Ph.D. program. It addresses an original investigation of a problem of significance in the candidate’s area of specialization, analyzes it with a global perspective and provides the opportunity for the candidate to demonstrate comprehensive leadership knowledge by way of a public dissertation defense.
* STUDENTS MUST HAVE EARNED THEIR MBA FROM AN ACCREDITED INSTITUTION WITHIN THE PAST 10 YEARS AND GRADUATED WITH A CUMULATIVE GPA OF AT LEAST 3.0.
Degree Completion Requirements
To successfully complete the Ph.D. in Global Leadership, students must:

Complete a minimum of 66 doctoral credit hours of coursework, including 18 credit hours of research core, 18 credit hours of global leadership core, 18 credit hours of concentration and a minimum of 12 credits of dissertation coursework.
2 Attend a minimum of three Immersion weekend experiences.
Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25.
3 Complete the degree within seven calendar years of the initial course start date.
4 Prepare and successfully defend the qualifying paper.

5 Prepare and successfully defend the proposal and dissertation.

Meet all financial, academic and other related obligations of Indiana Tech and the Ph.D. program.
