Task Lighting

Task lighting gives you a well directed beam of light for activities such as reading, or working in your home office. Place your task lamp right next to or near where your task is being conducted for example, by your bedside, next to a sofa or on your desk. We suggest opaque or darker shades to help direct the light to where it’s needed.

Proportions

When choosing your lamp bear in mind the space it will go on. Large lamps on small side tables are likely to get knocked over or look disproportionate. A too small lamp and it gets lost on your tabletop or cabinet. Don’t forget to also consider the size of the shade. The shade should ideally be ½ to ¾ of the size of your base.
