After completing a past life regression session, you may have many questions still swirling around your head, some of the questions I often hear are: Were the images, thoughts or feelings that came through real? How do I make sense of the everything I experienced? How can I use this experience to help to heal or bring clarity to my life? Just as there is not one way to experience a regression, there is not one way to process the information that comes through. Each of us is on our own spiritual journey, clarity and enlightenment come from witnessing our experiences with an open heart and mind. The goal of regression therapy is to awaken memories from your subconscious that lead to a greater understanding about the current circumstances in your life. This understanding can then lead to healing, and when you have healed, clarity emerges. These practices were developed for you to use at home in between the regression sessions, and following them. They are designed to help you to come to your own conclusions about the questions posed above, because no one can truly answer those questions for you, they are answers you must uncover within yourself. Take your time with these exercises, release any expectations about what is to come, and create a silent sacred place to be, for it is within that still silent space of awareness that our deepest insights are often born. Light a candle or incense and play high vibrational music or bring some nature inside to invoke the presence of spirit. You want to make sure that you are in comfortable clothing and have a slightly empty stomach free of caffeine, alcohol, sugar or drugs (don’t eat a heavy meal right before any of these exercises, it is best to wait a few hours after a light meal). One final thing to remember is that although looking into your past to understand the past patterns and places that your soul has gone can bring immense healing, it also has the potential to wrap you up too deeply in your own story. The practice then is to view the past lives of your soul as a collective past. Meaning that your pasts are inextricably linked to the pasts of others, and your soul is not a personal phenomenon, it is universal. You then can view your past memories as tools for healing, not only yourself, but tools for healing the world through an awakened compassion and empathy for others who have experienced the same pain, suffering and struggle as you have. You can also utilize the past life regression practice to remember and reconnect with the strengths that have always been within the expression of your soul. There really is no end until you decide that you are complete. Until then, the journey is eternal. I am with you in spirit :) NamastÊ, Aimee
Part I Journaling and Meditation 30 minutes Find a journal or small notebook that you can devote to your spiritual growth process. Open this journal and record the images that stand out in your mind from each of the past lives that you experienced, try not to censor yourself, write it down even if it seems silly, stupid or does not make any sense. Take a separate sheet of paper to record each lifetime on, so you will end up with three journal pages, each with a description of the experience at the top. Then, sit in an upright position, either with your feet flat on the floor, or legs in the cross-legged position (with both feet bent inwards and under the body, crossing each other at the ankle, with both ankles resting on the floor or cushion). Close your eyes and bring your attention within your body. Slowly focus on your breath as you inhale and exhale, let your attention follow the breath. Release all other thoughts from your mind, and for several moments, simply focus on your inhales and exhales, focus on how they feel, and allow all other thoughts to drift away. When you feel as though your body and mind have reached a state of calm and relaxation, turn your attention to the first page of your journal activity. Read over the experience and allow yourself to write any thoughts that come to mind when you read this. Allow yourself to write down anything that comes to mind, do not censor yourself, or try to figure anything out, you are simply freely associating with the images, words, and feelings that the first life evoked for you. After you feel as though you have let everything empty from your mind, return to the deep breathing meditation exercise. Take several minutes to clear your mind and regain the sense of peace and relaxation, then move to the second page in your journal, the second past life experience. Repeat the exercise above, return to the meditative state when you are done and then repeat the journaling exercise with the last past life experience. The purpose of this exercise is to gain insight into how the past lives that you experienced tie into your life today. Sit with the writing that you came up with and read over it, ask yourself in what way is it connected to things that you are experiencing or feeling in your life today?
Part II Automatic Writing 30 Minutes Begin with your sacred journal or notebook and a pencil or fountain pen (you want a writing utensil that will not skip, drag or pull). The process of automatic writing is one in which you open your unconscious mind and allow these thoughts, images or words to come forth uninterrupted on the paper. Once you have found a comfortable position, sitting upright (as described above), practice the short meditation exercise described above to move your mind into a place of relaxation. Focus your attention on one question that you have about the regression experience. It could be one of the questions that I have listed above, or something very specific. Write this question at the top of a blank sheet in your journal. Then sit your pencil or pen on the paper and close your eyes, write whatever words come to mind. You may hear words, just know what to write, or receive images in your mind’s eye. Whatever comes through, no matter how silly or unrelated it may seem, allow yourself to write. Sit with this question in mind, writing whatever comes forth for the entire 30 minute period. Allow your mind to remain clear, if you feel yourself getting stuck, return to the meditation exercise above of focusing on your breath. Practice does allow clearer messages to come forth, so do not become disappointed if you have nothing to write during the first of these exercises. Try to set aside some time to practice this exercise at least every couple of days for a few weeks. You may ask the same questions, or different questions every time. When we have patience with ourselves and with the process, it gives our unconscious and spirit a chance to come through. If your messages do not seem meaningful, so not give up, often we have to allow this process to unfold, much like a child first learning to write from consciousness, the practice of writing from your unconscious takes time and practice.
Part III Deep Healing Through Past Life Regression 60 minutes Regression techniques have a proven track record in alleviating mental, emotional, and even physical tension or pain, fears and phobias. You first have to understand the nature of the universe in order to understand past life regression. Envision our world, every world we have come from and all of time as existing in this huge web of energy intertwining and weaving back and forth throughout each other. Accessing the lives you have lived in the past is as simple as reaching into that web of energy and attracting that energy or lifetime to you. You attract that lifetime by setting the intention to do a past life regression, setting up the time to connect and allowing yourself to open to whatever form of energy flows to you. The divine love of the universe always delivers the most healing experience that you can handle in your physical self at the time. Therefore, it is crucial to understand that every little glimpse that comes through in a past life regression, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant has been brought to you for a reason. A common fear of those who enter into a regression is, “Am I making this all up? What if this is my imagination?”. If you can relate – it is a common trick of your ego to question what comes through your subconscious mind. Trust that your subconscious mind is in fact in deeper union with your essence then your logical mind until both become one with the essence of all that is and you move into an enlightened state. To release fear is to stop questioning what you are presented with. This brings you into a flow of certainty and understanding that whatever you receive from your subconscious mind holds a deep truth that is asking to be expressed. I treasure each piece of information that comes forward in a regression – it is sacred knowledge, here to help you to heal and move forward in a stronger way on your path. Some important steps to take when evaluating your own regression experiences are to ask the following questions, in a quiet meditative space:
1. Were there any patterns, similarities or differences between the lives? In most past life regressions we are given lives that link together through some major theme, feeling or understanding.
For example, if you are alone and feel lonely in three different lives then that is an important lesson that is trying to be shown to you. 2. Ask yourself what is it that I am being shown in these lives that I still need to heal from? Each lifetime is attracted to you because of a specific healing purpose – it is the goal of God to heal us all –so what could this life be showing you that you need to heal from? For example, you are being shown a number of lifetimes feeling lonely so that you can understand why you sometimes feel that way in this lifetime. The lesson is that that loneliness was in your past – you are just remembering it now - today you have people that care you and love you – sometimes you don’t focus on them because you are too focused on remembering the past and feeling lonely. Often we are perceiving the present moment with a lens from the past. As you learn to witness and release and ask to heal from all past life memories that surface throughout this practice, one by one you move into an energetic space that is more free, more open and more one with Source than ever before.
Conclusion Later, in the days ahead, it is possible that you will receive further flashes of insight or dreams related to your past lives. Appreciate and document that material. Write into your journal any new insights about that lifetime. As you honor all that comes through as you would value a precious gem, the guidance that streams forth from your subconscious will radiate more and more through the pure white light of the divine. The door to your subconscious mind retains ajar and a new inspiration can come at any time. By logging all such insights, you will increase the learning gained and help to strengthen your intuitive mind. Through the act of writing, you practice trusting what is coming through in the present moment and this trust brings more revelations, insights, and understandings of your inner self and leads to the highest expression of yourself.
