TIMBER trading along the entire eastern seaboard was disrupted or brought to a standstill as flood rains of Biblical proportions hammered down on coastal and inland regions in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. In southeast Queensland, the wrath of La Nina has been a tragedy of epic proportions as overwhelming volumes of water cut a destructive swathe through Queensland down to Brisbane and beyond, wrecking families and their fortunes with a death toll of 16, including children, and more than 50 people still missing.
