eimler & Sons Construction has won numerous awards as well as the continued loyalty of its customers through years of professional and efficient construction and high-quality customer service that goes hand in hand with old-fashioned family businesses. After he was laid off in 1975, Gary Deimler started a small company called Gary Deimler CGR Custom Home and RemodelingGary Deimler Custom Home and Remodeling, while taking small repair jobs to support the business. Through his hard work, Deimler & Sons has grown into the successful home-remodeling business it is today, with annual revenue of $2.7 million. Deimler & Sons still does maintenance and repair jobs in addition to larger remodeling services for bathrooms, kitchens, basements and home additions. They also keep up with the latest developments in the construction business, including incorporating green materials and designs. All field employees are EPA trained and certified in lead-safe practices. The firm also uses the principles of universal design, which gives greater access to people with limited abilities. Certified Aging in Place Specialists (CAPS) as designated by the NAHB, so that they can remodel and adapt homes to allow people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. Deimler did a super job for me. I would highly recommend them...... I will keep “selling” Deimler as opportunities arise, and I’m happy to do it. I know how frustrating it can be for homeowners trying to find a trustworthy contractor. I was there a year ago until I met the Deimler team. Gary’s son Craig says honesty and ethical workmanship are more important to the Deimlers than profit. Customers appreciate the personal attention and straightforward communication that they get when they work with Deimler & Sons. “We want our clients to truly enjoy the transformation of their homes and be ecstatic with the work progress on

a daily basis, as well as on the final day,” the company says on their website, www.gdsconst.com. “This means it looks the way it was expected to look, costs what it was expected to cost and the journey was enjoyable for the client.” This commitment to providing the customers with the best possible experience is built in to the construction process. The standardized procedure consists of eight steps, all explained in clear and detailed terms. In each step, from “dreaming and planning” to post-construction, Deimler ensures that the client and contractor understand each other’s expectations with the help of a dedicated schedule and checklist. The company’s efforts have paid off; many customers are so pleased with their work that they refer family and friends. “I know how frustrating it can be for homeowners trying to find a contractor,” wrote one customer from New Cumberland, Pa. “I was there a year until I met the Deimler team.”

The high quality of their customer service also stems from a working environment that values the employee-employer relationship. All employees must have experience in the remodeling business before joining, and continued training and education is provided for the staff. The online biographies of the Deimler & Sons team feature not only work experience, but also each person’s family and hobbies. For the Deimlers, work is a family affair. Gary and Craig work closely to oversee the company’s continued service and growth, and Gary’s wife Nancy has served as the company’s office manager since its founding. In keeping with their goal to inform the general public about design techniques, the company holds local educational seminars throughout the year. The Deimler team hopes to continue to grow professionally and personally in the future while providing outstanding customer service to its clients. CLT Summer 2010 7
