As rumours swirl and suspicions mount, Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman developer Michael Ryan says he is carrying on normally, “just as I have for the last five years”, rejecting fears of ruinous legal problems. “This is a whole bunch of charges that has been taken out of context and blown up,” he said yesterday, responding to queries about a 28 February lawsuit filed by creditor RC Cayman Holdings. “I have not seen the whole thing, and can’t comment,” he said, declining to elaborate, saying only that “we have taken all appropriate steps”. Mr Ryan is the subject of a late-February lawsuit, filed by Conyer Dill & Pearman on behalf of Delaware-based RC Cayman Holdings, which seeks to take control of the hotel in satisfaction of an outstanding multi-milliondollar loan.
