The Beachcomber range comes from a lifetime of collecting beach treasure washed up on the shore. Always dodging the waves to get that perfect shell on the shoreline, the salt water creates vibrant colours which bleach in the sun, we are the shell seekers, eyes down looking for the perfect specimen.

Who doesn’t love strolling along the beach with the sand in your toes and waves gently lapping on the shore? Your eyes are on the sand hoping to find the perfect shell, crab claw or the most beautifully patterned pebble. It’s a priceless treasure trove of sun bleached and sea washed jewels full of stories of the ocean. It’s amazing when you discover a rock pool and you’re filled with warm feelings of childhood holidays. You then wonder what hidden treasures you’re about to discover, will there be a hermit crab, anemone or best of all a starfish?

You put your hand into the unknown, the water is warm and inviting, you turn the first stone and wait to see the treasures beneath. It’s a feeling that you never tire of and as you stroll home, happy with your bucket of gems, you’re reminded of a perfect day of salty seas and sand in your toes. You wonder in excitement when you’ll return again and add to your collection.

“It doesn’t matter where I go in the world, I spend hours looking in rock pools and scanning what the sea has deposited on the tideline.

I suppose I am what is commonly known as a Beachcomber.

Living where we do, it’s hard not to be beside the sea and every time I go, I find a treasure. It could be a piece of beautiful seaweed washed up on the sand, artfully arranged by nature to look like something that could be picked up and framed. Or a sun-bleached shell with beautiful markings, or even a starfish, that would be a very special find.

Some of my earliest memories are coming home, happily tired after a day on the beach, with a bucket full of hermit crabs and wondering where they had gone when I came out to find them the next morning.

My favourites are mussel shells, the shades of blue, from deep indigo through to ink and then fading away to soft blues, this is always an inspirational colour palette for me.

Let the sea wash over them and the colours instantly become rich and vibrant, dry them out and they are salt washed and muted, both so beautiful in their own way.”

Razor clams, mussel shells, winkles and a whelk shell sit against a beautiful fan of indigo seaweed. It has shades of blue, from deep washy indigos, silver greys, through to sky blues with a pop of soft pink, this collection of shells reminds us of a Cornish summer.

We love the rare Nautilus shell in this design, they’re not found in Cornish waters, but Rebecca has found these washed up on her local beach in Australia.

We’ve also added the scallop shell which we find everywhere in Cornwall, it’s so beautiful and a shell that we keep coming back to as we love them so much.

The ubiquitous Whelk has so many species, so they never look boring!

Lastly is a piece of beautiful coral, which forms the backdrop for this eclectic collection of shells.

This beautiful design has two of our favourite elements, the classic scallop shell and delicate branches of coral. We’ve called it Manderley, this contemporary yet classic design is inspired by romantic Cornish novelist Daphne Du Maurier. It suits a beach house just as much as an eclectic patterned home in-land.

These cushions are reversible and backed with ‘Navron’ our very pretty mini scallop shell design which is the perfect accompaniment to our Manderley pattern.
