Desfila así el catalán Puig, el francés Lhote, nuestros mayores maestros, Alice, Collivadino, Pettoruti... un coro de genios que dan la bienvenida al genio. El siglo es duro y la latitud aun más dura todavía, pero el genio es imparable, díganlo sino Xul Solar o Berni. Todo indicaba que Ides Kihlen ahondaría en la pintura intimista y metafísica a lo Paul Klee, como en verdad lo testimonian sus acrílicos y collages que parecen emerger de sus manos como pájaros reclamados por el aire. Pienso en Leonardo liberando a los pajaritos de sus jaulas. Se diría que Ides extiende sus brazos sobre sus telas y cartones y líneas y colores se combinan entre sí a partir de un gesto mas mágico que artesanal, lo que solo puede lograrse a partir del dominio absoluto de la artesanía. Ya todo parecía dicho, pero hete aquí que nuestra maga saca un nuevo conejo de la galera: su lirismo intimista nos sorprende con una obra de aliento épico, algo que excede por sus dimensiones la tela de caballete y se incorpora al muralismo. Se nos dice aquí de ese aliento especial que incursiona en la sensibilidad pública, dada la distancia necesaria para apreciarlo. Los "leit motif" de Kihlen, sus líneas sutiles, sus acentos rojos y azules danzan entre el blanco y algunas manchas apenas coloreadas de ocres. Ides Kihlen describió el círculo completo. Quiero suponer que no habrá barrera de distancia ni de tiempo que puedan detener el desborde de una grandeza espiritual que nos invita a desplegar nuestras propias alas.

Everything pointed that Ides Kihlen would delve into intimate and metaphysical painting in the style of Paul Klee , as her acrylics and collages bear witness. They seem to emerge from her hands like birds claimed by the air. I can visualize Leonardo liberating birds from their cages. One could say that Ides stretches her arms over her canvases or cartons and that then lines and colors combine with each other, obeying a gesture that is more magical than workmanlike , which can only be achieved after thoroughly mastering the craft. When everything seemed to have been said, our magician pulls another rabbit from her hat and adds to her intimate lyricism a surprising work of epic proportions, something that exceeds the limits of the canvas and moves on to murals. It is spoken and felt here by that special breath that feeds public admiration and sensibility, in great part due to the necessary distance needed to appreciate such a work of art. Kihlen's "leit motif", her gentle strokes, her reds and blues which dance among whites and stains of soft colors enhanced by almost invisible ocher. Ides Kihlen describes the complete circle. I would like to believe that there will never be a barrier of time or distance that can detain the overflow of spiritual grandeur that invites us to spread our own wings in flight.
