Trend Micro International signed a definitive agreement to acquire HP TippingPoint, a leading provider of nextgeneration intrusion prevention systems (NGIPS) and related network security solutions. The approximately $300 million agreement encompasses security technology, intellectual property, industry expertise, as well as a large, loyal enterprise customer base. This acquisition positions Trend Micro as the go-to enterprise security provider of dynamic threat defense solutions spanning endpoints, network, data center and the cloud. Trend Micro will also combine current and acquired capabilities to create a Network Defense business unit, serving more than 3,500
enterprise customers. Since 2014, Trend Micro and TippingPoint have had a strategic partner relationship. HP and Trend Micro will continue to be strong partners post transaction. The two companies will form a strategic partnership with TippingPoint around re-sale, managed services and OEM activities, as well as security intelligence, app security and data security.

As one of the leading group in digital entertainment products, what is Zebronics’ approach to the growing online retail market? Online business conspicuously has seen good growth in recent time. Still at Zebronics it contributes only a very small percentage of its overall business and considering Indian tradition of business where bonding and relations equally matters, channel business will always be priority to Zebronics and would play a important role. The market for digital accessories has undergone tremendous change in the past few years. How would you evaluate the changing trends? Zebronics has a lot of accessories products for mobile devices. In recent few year mobile device accessories has evolved rapidly. Like power banks have become a essential product for many in short period of time. As trends change in mobile device the accessories segment changes with it. As these devices are getting more powerful and multifunctional the market for accessories like power bank, bluetooth keyboard, bluetooth earphone/headphone, portable speakers will keep on changing. Mobile devices are becoming primary computing devices for many. They will surely need accessories to go with that and
Zebronics is always ready with latest accessories for consumers. This is very dynamic market and you have to keep pace with changing technology and we hope to launch many more products in this segment. Zebronics has a great range of speakers in the market. How is Zebronics positioning its products in this competitive segment? In last few year we have covered good ground in speaker segment. This segment is very competitive and fierce. The core value of Zebronics brand EQR mantra(Excellence, Quality and reliability) and Value for money price have helped us in winning the consumers. Also our in-house Research and Development department has taken us to the next level in this segment, monitoring the latest developments in the field of technology and innovation to find more suitable products for the market. The R&D team has been able to design products which are more inline with the local requirements. The recently introduced tower speakers ZEBBT9900RUCF and ZEB-BT9990RUCF comes with crossovers which are designed by our R&D wing. In this price range, such audiophile quality speakers are unheard. The R&D team has helped also with strict QC control which we have for products. This has boosted confidence of channel and consumers in Zebronics speakers. We have won “Make in India” award for Audio Video products recently from SME channels. Zebronics has introduced its range of surveillance products. What is Zebronics strategy for its security range? Surveillance is new segment for Zebronics,
we entered this product segment in February 2015. In such a short period of time we have a huge lineup of products. Cameras in all the segments like analog, HDCVI and IP have been introduced in the market. The Digital Video Recorder and network video recorder range consists of various models in 4/8/16 channel configuration. There is a range of video door phone from 4.3” screen to 7” screen with touch feature. The CCTV power supply has has various models to choose from. Zebronics also has Micro Load Sense UPS for surveillance segment. Its first of its kind product in India, developed by Zebronics R&D division. As we know the opportunity is huge with large untapped market. Our plan is to give quality product at value for money prices. We initially want to tap the small home and office segment. We wish to update the products range regularly and bring the latest technology in surveillance to the customers. Reliability and quality backed by good service support would be our added strength. In the upcoming IFSEC expo at New Delhi we will be launching many new products. How would you evaluate the market for Webcams and headphones in India? Headphone segment is doing great for Zebronics. Our 7.1 channel virtual surround headphone Ironhead recently received best headphone award at DT awards. Recently we updated the gaming headphone range with Electro head and Metal head. Even for mobile device now we have wide range of bluetooth and wired headphones. Products like Happy Head and Airwalk 2 are huge success among channel and the consumer. These are high quality products with pocket friendly price. These products defines the Zebronics brand and what we stand for. Webcam is a IT peripheral product, we

INTERVIEW have quite a few models in webcams. The market for webcams has dropped. As all the mobile devices comes with built in cameras. In desktop space Zebronics webcam still has small market. The digital entertainment products have a vibrant potential in the B-Class and CClass cities. What are Zebronics’ plans to tap this market? We are doing a lot of BTL activities in the B and C class cities like road shows, expos, shop branding, pop branding materials, hoardings, school/college events etc. We wish to further increase such events. We have 31 offices across India and huge list of loyal channel partners, making sure than Zebronics products are available in every nook and corner of the country. We are expanding the channel rapidly and aggressively. The new segments of televisions and surveillance has also given us even wider reach. It helps the existing Zebronics channel to grow further, when all these are added the sum is large than its parts. What growth prospects do you see for the digital accessories in the coming years? As said earlier this segment has grown exponentially in recent few years and will continue to do so as the mobile device
usage and penetration increases. More and more people are now using mobile devices as their primary computing device. We already have a lot of products in this segment and continue to launch new products and expand our range in this segment. What are your expectations from channel partners in creating a favourable market for digital entertainment products? So far we have good response from channel partner for these products. We have added many new partners. Even our existing partners have option to expand their horizons in these segment of products. What are the future plans of Zebronics? Are any new products in the offing? We are very strong in IT peripherals segment and one of the fastest growing brand in consumer electronics segment. We have registered 35% CAGR for last 3 years, this year we expect to do even bigger in terms of growth. A lot of this is because of careful and meticulous planning of products. We wish to make technology affordable by giving value for money products to consumers, without any compromise in quality. We are very aggressive about our plans in consumer electronics products such as Speaker, LED TV and Tablet PC, while

retaining our strong hold on IT as the No 1 peripherals brand of the country . Our goal is going forward and staying "Always Ahead". What is your message for the channel partners? We are extremely strong with the channel and there has been increasing good recognition and acceptance of the Zebronics brand. We are introducing at least 10 new products every month, to which, again, the channel reacts extremely well. Our partners were able to go back to consumers with attractive products every so often, that helped in spread of word-of-mouth and took our business forward. We want to re-assure our partners that increasing awareness and brand presence of Zebronics will mean good times for the channel community. Surveillance and consumer electronics segment is huge opportunity for all Zebronics partners to joins hands with us in this lucrative new segments. we will ensure that our products match the world class quality and service, this is one commitment to our partners.
