ECHA is now looking for the most talented candidates from each European Union Member State or country of the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) for the following position: Scientific Officer- Contract Agent M/F FGIV 1. JOB DESCRIPTION The staff concerned will work in the operational Directorates of the Agency in multidisciplinary teams managing different scientific/technical processes foreseen by the Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), by the Regulation on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) or by the forthcoming Biocides Regulation. Upon recruitment, staff generally start working in one area of work, but will be expected during their career in the Agency to develop skills to enable them to work in multiple areas. The main areas of work are: - Checking the completeness of registrations and other dossiers submitted by industry and issuing where relevant the corresponding invoice; - Settling data sharing disputes and inquiries; - Processing incoming dossiers and extracting the information to be disseminated; - Checking the identity of substances to which a company or Member State dossier refers; - Evaluating testing proposals made by industry; - Checking the compliance of registration dossiers; Analysing dossiers prepared by the Member States identifying further information needs for registered substances; Analysing dossiers prepared by the Member States identifying substances of very high concern, proposing a restriction, or proposing harmonised classification and labelling; - Assisting in the development of Agency proposals for substances to be placed on Annex XIV of the REACH Regulation; - Determining the need to impose safety conditions on Process and Product Oriented Research and Development activities in industry, based on submitted information; - Participating in the development,
