Documentation
Final Clue Every one of the clues will needed to be added together for solving the location of the final site that will be need to visited in order to finish the race.
One of the major challenges of this project will be documenting how the race unfolds. as the race is happening over a huge aera and potentially 9 days there will be a lot of activity. The goals for documenting the race will be: • Getting footage of people doing that activities • Footage of the challenges in action • General race footage • Interacting with the clues
the final clue will be a puzzle that will have have to be solved before the racer has set of. in this case a location will not be given, rather the racer will need to use there knowlage of the places and routes that they used in order to locate the finish line.
Budgets The cost of each part of this race is something that will need to be carefully looked at. Most people will not want to spend a large amount of money. However some of the activities and challenges will require money. This will need to be kept to a minimum, so as to ensure that everybody can take part. All of the locations will be accessible by public transport, so the cost of a myki fare of met card fare is unavoidable
QR codes Using digital cameras and video recorder we hope to follow people and record their participation in the race. Camping out route and clues will be the main method which we will record the race, waiting for people to interact and then following their progress.
A QR code is a 2 dimensional code, a barcode. it can be used for a wide range of different application. With software a picture of such a code can send someone to a website, unlock information, and provide access to a network. In this way it can provide a link from the real world to the virtual world. Generators for this type of code can reveal • URL’s • Text • Phone numbers • SMS
we will also hopefully get access to security footage from the buildings in which challenges and activities take place. Tracking people using the web site could also be used as a way of gauging how many people are playing the game.
Race Time Frame The race its self will be run over the course of two weekends as well as during the week. This will give those participating a good chance to get to all the required locations regardless of their schedule. the clues can also be with held until a certain time, this would allow the race to be spaced out and controlled. with the final clue being released at a time that allows the largest amount of people a good chance of succeeding
Web site Using a website such as word press clues would be able to be given on entering a certain clue. Then the next cryptic clue could be displayed. the website would allow for the clues to be given to as many people as required. this would solve issues such as running out of clue copies. The website would also allows us to track the level of interest in the race.
