Mid-semester self-assessment

What indicates the current levels of your performance and achievement in the studio against each criteria? Describe in detail the indicators (evidence) of quality at the level of performance you honestly believe you have achieved so far. In less detail, describe what would indicate if you had achieved above or below your proposed level. ‘SATISFACTORY’ PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

‘GOOD’ PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

‘VERY GOOD’ PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Throughout the semester I was given small projects that helped me get a better understanding of different avenues to test, like going to different suburbs and exploring their urban practices, playing games in Bourke street, informal market trading, ect. To achieve higher performance I believe testing and exploring this idea more will help me with my final project.

‘OUTSTANDING’ PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

I believe that I have handled real life situations and scenarios well by taking into consideration of others that are within these spaces. After one situation in Footscray I learnt really fast that it’s better to ask people before filming, recording audio and taking photos of anyone.

I believe that I could have tested and explored more on the creative techniques for the informal market trading, by looking at my post cards and how they could have connected better with the gift that I was handing out.

I do believe that I have conceptually framed all my mini projects which have been relevant to the design ideas that I was hoping to achieve. I think taking it further and testing it more will improve the outcome. But with the fashion parade in South Yarra, I do believe that my group and I tested the way we approached the public in a creative way by making it fun and posing interesting questions. With all that we achieved the intended goal by having the interactions with the public.

5

Have I achieve what I set out to do?

6

Reflected, examine and discuss my work with my peers.

CRITERIA RELEVANT UP TO MID SEMESTER ONLY List criteria (if any) that you believe only relates to your work up to mid-semester. 1

Conceptually framed my approach, interest and intention within the studio context in order to develop a design proposal relevant to the project.

2

How have I handled real life scenarios/situations through testing different methods and mediums?

3

Having understanding of what an informal urban practice is.

Yes, I set out mini briefs before going out and documenting my results by listing some outcomes and final ideas of the intended situation, but when you’re working with the public things that I intended to achieve will change according to the different areas that I’m filming/photographing in. Throughout the entire semester I have communicated with my peers and the group members that I was working with, to come up with other ideas and also how we could have taken that further to make it a stronger project.
