Activity Week We are all looking forward to “Activity Week beginning 4th July. The additional activities have been included as a result of our Olympic Legacy Funding. As well as the usual Sports Days we are welcoming dance, foam polo, basketball and football coaches into school. Children should come to school all week in PE clothing (this could be their outdoor PE kit but we are happy for them to come in any suitable PE clothing for the week).
School Fayre Thank you to all families who supported the School Fair again this year. We can all see the benefits of fund-raising by the FWPS, without their support many additional events in school and projects, like our improved playground, would not be possible. A big thank you to the volunteers; without them, the fair simply would not be able to go ahead.
Thursday 30th June
Building Work There is scheduled building work for the Summer Break. The main entrance of the school will be improved and secured with a new system of doors. The nursery ceiling will also be fitted with sound reducing boards which protect the children from the vibrating sound from the corregated roofing.
Play In A Day Last Thursday a group of Key Stage 2 children enjoyed a fun-packed day, rehearsing and preforming a fabulous rendition of Treasure Island. Fond Farewell We have reached the time of year when we say fond farewells to pupils and staff who move on to exciting new phases of their life. Firstly, I would like to send our best wishes to Miss Pilcher and Mrs Keay. Miss Pilcher is off to pastures (or should I say deserts) new, as she moves to her new post in Dubai. Mrs Keay is starting her well-earned retirement after 18 years of dedicated service at West Park School. She has many wonderful plans for her years of retirement - and we all wish her well. Our Y6 pupils move on to their secondary education. Once again we are proud to send such a wonderful group of children to a number of schools in Hartlepool and our region. They are well prepared for secondary education being a group of successful, hardworking children with an outstanding attitude to their learning. The best of luck to all you all :)
