welcome Sebastian Hutch, CEO – Bloodstock Sales
Welcome to the 2022 Premier Yearling Sale. The Victorian breeding industry is one of the most progressive of any jurisdiction anywhere in the world. There has been huge investment by existing and developing Victorian-based entities in racing stock, stallions and breeding stock, while there has also been a wave of major farms either expanding into the State or new ventures establishing themselves, all of which is hugely exciting. Yearling buyers are big beneficiaries of this and are afforded the opportunity to sample the fruits of this investment as part of the best Victoria has to offer each year at Premier. The results are there for all to see – in recent years this sale has produced the World’s Best Sprinter in Nature Strip and his heir apparent Masked Crusader, young stallions in Ole Kirk and Written By, ageless warriors like Santa Ana Lane, Beat The Clock, Gytrash and Hey Doc and fabulous fillies such as September Run, Kenedna and Youngstar. Premier graduates have also won 20 of Australia’s Open $1m+ races since 2019, more than any other individual sale in the Southern Hemisphere. There is incredible strength in this year’s catalogue in terms of the breeders with stock represented and in the quality of the horseflesh itself.
We’re excited to welcome you to one of the world’s best cities, Melbourne, for what will be a fantastic week filled with entertainment both in and out of the sales auditorium. Please know the Inglis bloodstock team is always available to assist should you have any queries in the lead-up to or during the Premier Sale, so please do not hesitate to get in touch.
