Sunflower Seed Bread Fill your kitchen with the homey smells of baking bread. You’ll need 1 ¾ cups white bread flour 1 ¼ cups whole wheat flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon sugar 1 packet (½ oz) quick-rising yeast 1 cup warm water 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 cup sunflower seeds 1 tablespoon milk Place flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Make a well in the center and pour in the water and olive oil. Mix to make a soft but firm dough. Turn the dough out onto a lightly dusted work surface and knead well for at least 10 minutes. Get an adult to take a turn if your arms get tired. Add three-quarters of the sunflower seeds. Knead them into the dough. Divide the dough into four pieces and place each in a small loaf pan. Cover pans with a clean kitchen towel and leave in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size. Brush the tops of the risen loaves with a little milk. Sprinkle loaves with remaining sunflower seeds and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until the loaves are golden.
