A NOTE FROM TAMRYN As we draw to the end of another year, my heart is filled with thanksgiving. The Lord could so easily have appointed the angels to preach His Gospel, He could have elected that these radiant beings share in the joy of reconciling men and women with their Maker. Rather than select them however, He appointed us. He appointed you and me. Together, dearest friend, let us get the job done! This year, we have witnessed thousands saying “Yes!” to Him from Mudabula, Malamulele and Mumias to Ntlhaveni and most recently, Nwamatatani. Their lives, families and communities will never be the same. Onwards we move now into 2017. Africa is being saved! Yours in His service, EV. TAMRYN KLINTWORTH and the In His Name Team
nwamatatani responds to jesus Our final crusade for 2016 was glorious! Nwamatatani is an isolated village community in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Dry and dusty, its remoteness has caused it to be forgotten by many. But, not by the Lord! From 30 November to 4 December, the Shangaan people responded to our Jesus in a wondrous fashion. Precious men and women, young and old called upon His matchless name for salvation, healing and deliverance, and, the results were fantastic. Night after night, the altar was flooded with those eager to become His children, a marvellous total of 1 786 decision cards having now been handed over to the local pastors for follow-up. We thank the Lord! A pastor approached me during our Sunday evening service
One precious moment with Jesus can change a life forever

and shared how so many elderly newcomers had attended his church that morning, all having accepted Jesus at the crusade. While many young people accepted the Lord, the high number of older people has thrilled us. These have lived lives seeped in witchcraft and ancestral worship. Deciding publicly for Jesus is a serious business. In fact, when the village chief addressed the crowd to thank In His Name for coming, his words reiterated this. “Gone are the days in which we relied upon the witchdoctors,” he professed. “Now, we shall put our trust in Jesus.” Amen and amen, this declaration touched us deeply. Prayer for the sick and oppressed resulted in many demonic manifestations and all manner of ailments

being given the boot. So many healing testimonies were heard of people being delivered from ailments that had plagued them for ten years, twenty years and more. Yes indeed, our Lord was at work! Jayela (63) had struggled with intense bladder pains and high fevers since the birth of her first child. Five children later, she was no better. On the Friday night, all that changed. Jayela is now free from all pain. “I thank God for healing me!” she exclaimed. Margreth (47) had fought mental ill health since 1985. Today, her mind is clear, her emotions joyous. “I have experienced the power of God,” she expressed. An elderly Masekani (62) had not been able to use her right arm for fifteen years, it hung limp at her side. During prayer, she heard something in her arm crack followed by the return of all movement. Hallelujah! What a happy mama she was, jiving for joy, the crowd dancing with her. Nomsa (36) had come to our crusade with a hand and wrist that were incredibly painful and swollen. During prayer, she suddenly felt her watch loosen on that arm. Looking down, she saw it had returned to its normal size and all pain had disappeared. Phenias (69) accepted Jesus as his Saviour during the crusade.
After suffering a stroke in 2012, he had relied upon a crutch to walk and was unable to use his left arm and hand. As he testified, he moved that limb with ease, his crutch resting unused by his side. Patmoni (70) jived to the stage with contagious joy. “Look at me, I can see!” she exclaimed. “I was blind but Jesus has opened my eyes. I am able to see now. I was unable to do anything but now I will do everything I used to do.” Praise the Lord! On Saturday evenings of our crusades, I always preach one final teaching on the baptism of the Holy Spirit after the Gospel message (building upon what I have taught on the Thursday and Friday evenings) before we pray for the fire to fall. Men and women were first overwhelmed by Him and then overflowed with Him. It was splendid! One precious lady had travelled almost 500km to attend the service. She left rejoicing, speaking in her heavenly language for the first time. Yes indeed, Nwamatatani has been forever transformed by our Saviour King! Without your fervent prayers and generous financial support, dearest friend, this crusade would not have been possible. Your commitment has rendered it a magnificent success. Thank you and thank you again.

Over the Christmas season, I always find myself meditating not solely upon the miracle of God becoming flesh, but also the role players in the story. Mary was blessed with a responsibility that set her apart. Her love for our Saviour went beyond the love of redeemed and Redeemer, creation and Creator, woman and God. Therein was intertwined the devotion and attachment that a mother feels towards the child she bore, nursed and raised. The Son of God was also the son of Mary. Mary loved Him as her God. She also loved Him as her son. What intimacy they must have shared, what tender devotion. Her heart would have swelled with both pride and awe, adoration and wonder as the babe she had carried within her raised the dead, calmed the storms and declared Himself to be the bread of life. This privilege of being both follower and earthly mother of Jesus was a gift from God indeed. It was her calling, her divine appointment, her joy. And yet, with that joyful calling also came much sorrow. It was the very depths of her love for Christ that brought her more grief and pain than any of the disciples upon His crucifixion. The disciples saw their Messiah agonise and die. Mary saw not only her Messiah suffer but her son as well. She must have desired to take His place, and yet, He was taking her place instead, bearing the weight both of her sins and those of the entire world. She lost child and Redeemer that day. Her anguish must have been acute, far more so than even the twelve apostles. Why do I fix upon such matters? We must understand, dear believer, that when the Lord calls, He is not promising an easy journey. He has assigned each
one of us tasks, duties, responsibilities, all meant to be vehicles through which He proclaims to this world that Jesus saves. The talents He has gifted us with we are to drain with use to their dregs and by doing so, shining as His lights in the darkness, drawing the lost to Him. The family He has placed us within, the children we parent, we are to love with His love, being His hands, showing His heart. The paths He has commanded we walk along, the doors He has prompted we step through, all these we are to seize with the greatest zeal and commitment. Our God has bid us and we live to please Him. Now, while He strengthens and equips for such endeavours, the battles are often intense and sometimes long. However, be assured, just as Mary went from the joy of watching her son excel to the agony of watching Him suffer, so, when she came face to face with His resurrected self, joy overtook her heart again. Our Heavenly Father knows our limits, He knows what we are able to handle. He will not stretch us to breaking point. He sees the entire tapestry while we see only a few threads. He knows what He is doing, He knows what our trials will ultimately yield. Be encouraged, dearest friend. He sees our lives through the microscope of eternity. His perspective is different to ours. Trust His perspective. Keep your eyes on Him. Keep your heart sensitive to His whisperings. As you enter this new year, do so with confidence. Remember Mary. Remember that though weeping may last through the night, joy is surely coming (Ps 30:5).
