ISSUE # 5 / OCTOBER 2015

A NOTE FROM TAMRYN As we move into the final season of 2015, let us persevere to finish off this year strong. And, when I mean strong, I mean it from the perspective of heaven. Over these next few months, may your relationship with Jesus become more intimate, your passion for souls heightened and your commitment to building His Kingdom even more intense. This, dear friend, is my prayer for you. Within this newsletter are inspiring devotions, an informative interview and, while rejoicing over the crusades past, news of what is yet to come. Together, Africa shall be saved! Yours in His Service, EV. TAMRYN KLINTWORTH and the In His Name Team

RISING WITH HIM When you are faced with a challenge, when you are in need of rescue, earnestly ask the Lord what role you need to play in your deliverance. You will always have a role. Our Lord desires to work alongside us, not drag us through life like a holy couch potato. Is there something you need to do, some step you need to take? Regardless of any other specific task, there are always two you cannot rise up without – PRAYER and FAITH.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.” – Isaiah 60 v 1 - 2 What a beautiful portion of Scripture! We see the word “arise” being used herein to describe the movements of two parties. In verse 2, the Lord is boldly declared to soon arise over His people. However, another party is urged to rise up, such being the people of God themselves. Interestingly, this instruction is issued right in verse 1 – before the Lord arrives on the scene. There is an urgency in the command issued. Get up! Rise up! Put your trust in God – He is on His way! You see, our action and God moving on our behalf, are intrinsically linked.

Let us first consider PRAYER. The Lord did not instruct us to pray for the purpose of giving His saints some innocent activity to occupy their time. Our prayers and His handiwork are partners in our deliverance, a fantastic sort of spiritual chemistry existing between the two. Perhaps we do not understand how this partnership works. Yet, it is enough to know that such exists! “But, Tamryn,” you may say, “I do not have the time to pray for hour upon hour.” Do not be dismayed, the important thing is that you pray. One minute here, five minutes there. Whether spoken out loud or deep in your heart, those words echo across His throne room. Now, what about FAITH? Prayer without faith is a pathetic shell of a thing, a bullet without gunpowder, an explosive without dynamite. What kind of faith does God require? A level of belief belonging solely to the most mature believers? Of course not! The faith God requires is a decision. He requires we make a conscious decision to believe. I assure you, dear believer, you can make this choice.

Slow going is better than no going. If the Lord places something on your heart to pursue, get going with it!

How did In His Name start? I was in the third year of a four year law degree when the Lord called me to crusade evangelism. He did so in a very simple manner, by whispering to my heart during the final service of a crusade I was attending of Ev. Reinhard Bonnke in Abuja, Nigeria. His voice was not audible to human ears – including my own – but nonetheless shook my soul with its intensity. When I returned home, I gingerly enquired when He expected me to launch out, since He had not included within the calling permission to quit my studies. I must confess, I anticipated a gentle, “Of course, once you have finished that degree of yours. You have a lot on your plate right now, I do not want to put too much pressure on you.” That, however, was not the answer I received! His answer? “Now!” And so, I got going. Between classes, I preached at schools. On weekends, I held a little Bible study. I registered the ministry. I planned a crusade at a nearby campus. I started slowly, but I started. Of course, as soon as I finished my studies, I went fulltime and never looked back. There are so many believers who extinguish their callings by waiting and waiting for the perfect moment to get going. I always encourage such peo-

ple with an important truth: slow going is better than no going. If the Lord places something on your heart to accomplish, get going with it, no matter how small the steps you are taking may seem. Unless the Lord has expressly told you to wait, then you had better not. The devil will ensure your “perfect moment” never arrives.

Orar é simplesme nte falar com Deus . Se você move os seus lábios ou fala com Ele de dentro do seu coração, Ele escu ta a toda a palavra e pensamen to. Derrame o seu coração para Ele. Peça a Ele paa que lhe most re o Seu amor. E depo is – escuta! A Sua voz não é audív el, mas pode ser sentida dentro de si, onde ninguém mais pode falar. Ele te dirá o quão Ele te ama. Ele vai lhe dar direção. Ele vai sussurar palavras de comforto e encorajamento.

We eagerly await and prepare for our final Gospel Crusade of 2015. Such will be taking place from 30 November to 6 December in HULENE, an informal township situated within the capital city of Mozambique, namely Maputo. Our venue is the local sports field – the “Estadio de Hulene” – which can be seen in the photo below, taken by our Crusade Director.

IR A IGREJA

LER A BÍBLIA

Quando nós acab amos de conhecer um novo amigo, aprendemos mais nós sobre aquela pessoa. Isso é exactamente o que a Bíblia faz conn osco enquanto crescemos no nosso relac ionamento com Deus. Spoken by our Lord, the words quoted above serve to remind us just how personal our Jesus truly is. He calls His sheep by name. They are individually loved, individually addressed. This does not solely apply to those who have accepted Him as Saviour. He knows both saint and sinner, fellowshipping with the first and wooing the latter. You see, Jesus is all about the individual. The ocean of humanity is not to Him a blur of faces. Rather, in His sight, every man, woman and child stands alone and wonderfully distinct. “For You

formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb,” David wrote in Psalm 139. “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.” While we witness multitudes accepting Him on mass during our crusades, Jesus hears each individual call coming from each individual mouth, separately and uniquely. He rejoices over each one as if they were the only one to ever say “Yes!” to Him. Dear friend, be encouraged today. Our Lord knows you. He knows your dearest desires and deepest fears. He poured out His life for you on the cross and pours out His love for you today still. Allow yourself to be embraced by Him – and embrace Him in return.
