CONTES

Artists and designers are in a constant need for exposure and getting their work out there for the rest to see. Implied Form was launched as a 'Happenings' making machine. November 17, 2007 marked the date for Implied Form's Event at the Pink Ghost Store in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This was the fist contest organized by Pink Ghost, Chixink and Iniciativa Colectiva for artists and designers. The contest consisted of artists sending in their designs for the crew at IF to select. Five selections from the 86 designs submitted were immortalized on a tee and were also voted on by the public online. The girls from Chixink and Pink Ghost announced the winners the day of the event at the store where they gave away prizes and freebies. Implied Form intrigued many designers and has gained followers since the day it was launched. *Piktorama (Amaranta Martinez), an illustrator from Florida, took the First Prize by popular vote with her playful design, "Raul". The other four finalists, Freshfauxx (USA), Frederick Kober (Germany), Iker Muro (Spain) and Pitt (Brazil) participated with hip designs all reflecting Chixink style. The winners were chosen from 86 entries and only twelve tees were made per design. This limited edition is available at chixink.com The announcement of a second contest has been made and it should be posted soon at impliedform.com

Piktorama's playful imagery always reflects her mood: Happy. Her illustrations are always sweet and have a magical feel. For Implied Form, she illustrated a set of AfroDudes all portraying her friends and thus, we fell in love with Raul the DJ. Piktorama is Amaranta Martinez. For the past 3 years, she has worked as an Art Director for Nickelodeon. She is Venezuelan.

One of our finalists, Pitt's whimsical design became one of Implied Form's favorites. The Power of Love is the title of his work. Pitt is from Brazil. WEB: flickr.com/photos/atentadodigital

Directly from Spain, Iker Muro's Jellyfish caught everyone's attention when it came down to the top 5. An amazing visual artist whose wall paintings are intricately thrilling and leaves you wanting to see more. WEB: murocracia.com

Frederick Kober's Bee design was on our top selection from the beginning. It was tough to select just one from the 8 entries he sent. Fredrick is from Germany. EMAIL: frederick.kober@gmx.de

Herman Lee (aka Freshfauxx) participated in IF with 'Emo Boy' and we just fell in love with the lonely boy in the corner. Freshfauxx is from Toronto, Canada. WEB: freshfauxx.com
