"Textural Geometries"

Page 1

Tom Herbert and Amy Sarner Williams are both inspired by the world that surrounds them, and in their practices they reflect on, deconstruct, and transform their surroundings. For both Herbert and Williams the resulting work is geometric but natural, calming yet energized, textural but flattened, and organic yet constructed. Tom Herbert attended New York City Community College majoring in Communications Arts, and went on to obtain a BFA in Art from East Carolina University. Herbert has worked in the graphic arts field as an illustrator and designer and currently pursues fine art on a full time basis. He works out of his home studio in Jenkintown, PA and has exhibited in local and regional shows. He has work in private and corporate collections. Amy Sarner Williams received her Bachelor of Art’s from the University of Pennsylvania. She has focused her career on supporting the field of Ceramics as an educator and through her involvement with the Clay Studio where she served as part of the development staff before transitioning to a Board Member, and later serving as its Executive Director. Williams currently is focusing on her family and studio practice.
