FAREWELL TO LINDA

After 16 years welcoming families through the Admissions process and telling the world about what we offer through Marketing and Communications, Linda can be proud of the positive changes she’s brought to KAS

When Linda started at KAS in August 2006, the school was significantly smaller and had just one person responsible for Admissions. The process for attracting and admitting students was fragmented with only one Open Day each year, an event combined with the KAS Summer Fair. Tours for prospective parents were organized on demand resulting in a staggering 1,360 tours conducted between 2006 and 2012! The school prospectus was designed and produced by a group of parents and the KAS website by the Head of ICT.

Linda took on the challenge to attract prospective students in the now highly competitive North London school’s marketplace. Group rather than individual visits were offered to parents, including talks and tours of the site. The format of the Year 7 intake was totally re-shaped, and the interview process for the Sixth Form prospective students firmly established. The introduction of on-line registration was a particularly important development – KAS was one of the first schools nationwide to adopt this practice. From 2012 Linda also took on the marketing role within KAS. The team has gradually increased in size and the area today looks very different to 2006. Under Linda’s leadership, we now have termly open days, KAS branding, a fully functioning school website, targeted advertising campaigns and vibrant KAS social media across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Throughout her career, Linda’s professionalism and inter-personal skills have been greatly appreciated by both KAS families and staff. She represented the Support Staff on Council and has served on many important committees over the years. Her determination and commitment to promote and celebrate the KAS ethos have been inspiring, and she leaves a strong legacy as evidenced by KAS’s reputation and our very healthy pupil numbers.

Whilst Linda will be much missed, we wish her well in her retirement and know that she will always be part of the extended KAS community.
