MATCH MADE In Noosa

Pairing wine with food enhances the dining experience, creating a heightened appreciation of the texture and taste of the finer things in life. Carlie Wacker unveils a series of perfectly paired dining experiences to whet your appetite at Gusto Noosa.

The IN Noosa Magazine family have long spruiked their love of a good wine lunch and this year our much-loved Gusto Noosa is serving up a series of food and wine events to showcase different wineries and encourage us to all be a bit more adventurous in our food choicesand confident in our wine selections. Owner of Gusto, Timothee Lepoutre and full-time sommelier Dale Potts appreciate and know their wine.

Dale (who you may recognise from Gibson’s) joined the Gusto team last year to bring his extensive knowledge and passion for wine to the restaurant and their lucky diners.

Timothee said they were privileged to have Dale join the team.

“Dale knows his wine and is a real asset to Gusto,” he said.

“He is so engaging with customers.”

With a team of enthusiastic food and wine aficionados you just know the series of wine lunches and dinners on the calendar are going to be memorable. In fact, there is an event planned for later in the year that pits Timothee and Dale against each other in a competition between each of their home countries.

The France vs Australia wine event promises to as entertaining as it is educational. And as guests you get to make the final call – are French or Australian wines better?

Each month, Gusto will share a unique experience which kicked off with a sold-out lunch exploring wines from the Derwent Valley in Tasmania.

Upcoming experiences include a foray into Mitchell Wines from the Clare Valley. This vineyard is run by the third generation in the Mitchell clan and the wines are a reflection of a true passion and dedication to winemaking.

In May, you can indulge in a Sunday Long Lunch feasting on shared plates matched with handcrafted small batch wines from the winery with a hard name to pronounce but an exceptional wine to drink - De Iuliis from the Hunter Valley.

In July, experience a night in Burgundy for Bastille Day and in September, journey through Barossa Valley, Eden Valley and the Adelaide Hills with a dinner featuring Michael Hall wines.

See, swirl, sniff, sip, and savour your way through 2023 with the best in food and wine at Gusto Noosa! Cheers to that!
