DVUSD Alcohol policy From the Student Handbook Alcohol Violation (use possession, under the influence), is defined as the possession or use of intoxicating alcoholic beverages or substances represented as alcohol. This includes being intoxicated at school, school-sponsored events and on school-sponsored transportation. The minimum consequence is a 10-day suspension; The maximum is expulsion. From the DVUSD Athletic Code of Conduct • Use or possession of all tobacco or alcohol products requires a suspension of 20 percent of the next athletic opportunities from the day the infraction was discovered. • Use or possession of a controlled substance requires athlete to be suspended from athletics for the remainder of that school year and may face long-term suspension if the infraction occurred on campus, at an off-campus activity, or in school vehicle.
