Program Intern Position Description Looking for highly motivated, creative and responsible individuals to help carry forward the work of In Progress and in particular the Critical Eye Program. Interns are selected based on past history of volunteerism with the organization and a proven track record of successful completion on given tasks and assignments. Because In Progress has so few resources, Interns are expected to be able to work independently, while communicating well with others. The first round of internship opportunities come to us through funding through the Yackel Foundation. We will use these $$s to acknowledge the value of our studio leaders by providing an honoraria to all who follow through with the listed requirements Intern responsibilities: - attend weekly staff meetings (presently Tuesdays at 5PM) (1hr per week) - take responsibility for a series of weekly tasks as delegated by the group (3 hrs per week) - oversee studio 301 one evening or weekend per week (4 hours per week) - plan 3-5 events for Critical Eye participants. (independent time) that will be presented and further developed by the group. The activities will take place once secondary funding is in place. These activities once funded should include you as either a coordinator or instructor more work….) What happens after that is up to YOU! The world is endless and so are the possibilities. Expectations of In Progress Interns Each internship requires the following: Volunteer one session per week as a lab supervisor. During these periods you will be able to work on your own artwork while supporting others coming to the studio to learn. You will be expected at those times to take a break from what you are doing, meet with the individuals coming to the studio and assist them on any project needs they have. Work one session per week on In Progress duties. These may include any of the following: website gallery design, festival submissions, equipment inventory, studio 301 clean up, activity planning, etc… Lead one or more activities on behalf of the Critical Eye Program. Assist in planning and implementing a winter gathering of CE participants. Plan a series of exhibits and screenings for the community Participate in a series of technical and instructional training sessions that will prepare interns to tae on greater responsibility in the running of In Progress.
