Primary Goals: 1. increase skill in technical, aesthetic, and creative applciations in digital media 2. gain professional expertise in electronic music creation 3. gain necessary leadership skills to promote artistic creation within other youth 4. further develop In Progress's capacity to serve Hmong artists. 5. increase level of responsibility for the operation of In Progress 6. understand artwork and it's relationship to the artist and an intended audience. 7. increase level of understanding of how to be successful as digital artist Strategies to Achieve Goals: 1. Produce a comprehensive body of artowrk in music, video and photography 2. Participate in specific mentorships that will strengthen music skills 3. Lead two or more workshop activities for In Progress 4. Focus artwork, training and workshop activities within Hmong youth communities 5. Assume more responsibilities regarding the general care and public presence of In Progress 6. Critique Houa's technical skills are strong. He has excellent camera skills and understands composition This summer I would like to see him work on deepening the content of his work, integrating further his love of music with an art of storytelling. Finally he should work on how to use the technical and aesthetic elements of digital video as part of the storytelling process. Summer Strategy 1) Mentor others in the art of video production. Your technical skills will improve dramatically! 2) Produce 3 short videos in different genres - documentary, music video, narrative Strive with each to deepen content and improve upon all levels of technique 3) Seek out critique from Kris, Sai & others. Use that critique as a guide to improvement Seeking an overall improvement of 1.2 points

Program Instruction Critique Houa has already shown some strong basic skill in program instruction. He has to date been in the role of a supporter rather than a program instructor. This will change this summer. Houa needs more practice in presentation and general aesthetic elements of digital video as part of the storytelling process.
