illustration by Richard Humphreys/Dog on Fire Maybe you’re still wondering what to do in November’s election, but when it comes to voting for your favorite restaurant, bar or retail shop (and many more), you didn’t hesitate. Best of the Coast began in 2000 as a way to celebrate the people, places and things that make Pensacola a fun and unique place to live. Initially we had about 300 readers mail in ballots. This year, we had over 5,000 votes cast online. Long-time local favorites were rightly celebrated again and new businesses and faces made their way to the winner’s list too. Read on to see the 2012 Best of the Coast winners. Those winners who became a part of the issue by advertising have write-ups.
