Despite being almost 500 miles away from oceanside ports in Southcentral Alaska, Fairbanks is a popular destination for summer visitors taking a cruise to the state. Many cruise lines coming to Alaska offer one-way Gulf of Alaska trips that include the port of Vancouver in Canada and either Whittier or Seward as the port in Alaska.
