WHAT TO DO LOOK OUT FOR SCAMMERS

SCAM ALERT

We have recently received reports from members who have been contacted by scammers. The stories vary as far as the scammers approach, but the ultimate goal is always to get your personal information - especially your banking information. If you receive a phone call claiming to be someone from Dixie Electric Cooperative and they are asking for your personal information, do not give it to them and immediately contact our office at 1-888-349-4332.

Ingredients:

Five Ingredient Taco Soup

1 lb. ground turkey, chicken, or beef

1 packet of taco seasoning 1 (32 oz.) box chicken bone broth 1 (15 oz.) can diced tomatoes 1 (15 oz.) can black beans, drained/rinsed

Directions: Add 1 tbsp. olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add meat. As it cooks, sprinkle the entire packet of taco seasoning over the meat. Cook until the meat is no longer pink. If you’re using beef, make sure to drain any excess fat to keep the soup from becoming greasy. Next, add the diced tomatoes and bone broth to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer. Add the black beans and let the soup simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes. After simmering, divide the soup into bowls and enjoy!

The thermostat is one of the best places to lower your energy use because heating and cooling account for a significant portion of home energy consumption. During winter months, adjust your thermostat to the lowest comfortable setting to reduce energy use. The Dept. of Energy recommends 68 degrees or lower.
