HOLIDAY LIGHTING SAFETY TIPS Statistics show that home fires and electrical accidents typically increase during winter months. Keep these lighting safety tips in mind to stay safe this holiday season.
Carefully inspect decorations before use. Cracked or damaged sockets and/or exposed wires can cause serious shock, injury or even start a fire.
Always unplug electrical decorations before replacing any bulbs or fuses.
Check for certification labels. Decorations without UL, CSA, or ETL labels have not been safety tested and could be hazardous. Turn off all indoor & outdoor electrical decorations before leaving home or going to sleep.
