SLOVENIA

WEATHER

The weather in Slovenia differs between areas. Alpine climate is typical for the mountain region, the coastal areas has a sub-Mediterranean climate, and the north-east lowland part has a continental climate. The average temperature is above 20°C in summer (July), and around 0°C in winter (January). Summer daytime temeperatures can go higher, even to 30°C or more and the weather is mostly dry, while in winter, expecially in the mountain regions temperatures can even drop to – 10°C.

FOOD & WINE

While visiting Slovenia you should definitely try its very delicious culinary specialties. Do not miss drinking a glass of wine in one of the smallest, but most diverse wine regions in the world. Slovenia has one of the best selections of wine, and numerous are ranked among the best in the world. Local touch and dedication to tradition are often present in Slovenian cuisine whether you decide for a simple meal in a local tavern or a mountain hut or while visiting one of the Michelin star awarded restaurants.

NATURE

Slovenia is known as a green county, with forests taking up 60% of its total land area, making it one of the most forested countries in Europe. Thanks to its diverse landscape one can enjoy its numerous lakes, rivers, stunning waterfalls, impressive gorges. Choose one of many marked hiking paths and climb a mountain or one of the hills that are practically anywhere for breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere.
