Christmas Tradition in Germany

Day 01 – Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Arrival to Frankfurt Airport and private transfer to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the real jewels along the Romantic Road. The remainder of day is at leisure to visit the Christmas Market. Overnight in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Day 02 – Dinkelsbühl

Enjoy a guided walk through Rothenburg’s historic old town with its romantic alleyways and picturesque squares and get an overview on the various aspects and epochs of its history. During the tour you will get to know the most important and most beautiful historic buildings and you will find out what life was like in a medieval town. In the afternoon drive to Dinkelsbühl, which is one of Germany’s most beautiful medieval town complexes, with a completely preserved city wall, numerous gates and towers and magnificent patrician houses. Visit of the Christmas Market. Then continuation to Nuremberg. Overnight in Nuremberg.

Day 03 – Nuremberg

You start the day with a half day walking tour of Nuremberg. Nuremberg – the name brings to mind emperors and medieval councils, the Reformation and Albrecht Dürer, but at the same time reminds us of Nazi party rallies and the Nuremberg trials. The historic old town with its mighty castle and city walls, its many churches, monuments and picturesque half-timbered houses still show the glamour of the old imperial city. Free time to visit of the famous Nuremberg Christmas market in the afternoon. Overnight in Nuremberg. Day 04 – Regensburg

Morning at leisure. Early afternoon drive to Regensburg. According to Sir Norman Foster Regensburg is one of the most beautiful cities of the world and its medieval centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2006. Each December the courtyard of the Thurn and Taxis Palace forms the magical backdrop for the Romantic Christmas Market. Remainder of day at leisure to visit the Christmas Market. Overnight in Regensburg.

Day 05 – Regensburg

After breakfast meet your guide for a short Regensburg walking tour. You will not only learn about the history of this picturesque city, but also about Regensburg and its beer. End the tour at restaurant Wurstkuchl for a typical German dish and a good beer. Overnight in Regensburg.

Day 06 – Departure

After breakfast private transfer to Munich Airport and end of tour.
