Cave Towns are important tourist attractions of Georgia. Uplistsikhe is the oldest one, built in 1st millennium BC. Vardzia was built in the Golden Age of Georgia, under the reign of Queen Tamar in the 12th century and is the most monumental site of south-west region
THE CRADLE OF WINE
Vines found today on the territory of Georgia date back to 6000 BC. One of the most popular and widespread methods of making wine has always been the so-called Kakhetian tradition: storing wine in clay jars called “kvevri” buried under the ground (UNESCO World Heritage). In the middle of Alazani Valley lies Kakheti’s largest and one of the most important wine cities, Telavi.

Kazbek as the punishment for stealing fire from Zeus and legend about Argonauts, who sailed to the rich kingdom of Colchis (today Georgia) in the search of the Golden Fleece.
