COUNTRY hat makes Chile special is that, with its length of appro imately 300 km 6 0 mi , it features almost all climate ones on earth, with the e ception of the tropics. Chile has appro imately 1 illion inhabitants, almost half of them living in Santiago and the central region. The easiest way to travel around Chile is by plane. Due to the large distances between the highlights of Chile, it is the fastest way to get to know the country.

PEOP E The cultural and climatic di erences have characteri ed the identity of the country and its people. arm, kind, energetic and approachable, Chileans share the love for their country, which invites you to build relationships and to live unique e periences. Chileans are faithful followers of their traditions and customs and celebrate their most important festivals each year.

Due to its location on the southern hemisphere, seasons in Chile are opposite to Europe and North America. The warmest months are January and February, the coldest July and August.

the ocean provides for a constant, often frosty wind, so that a wind jacket is recommended all year round. ith 000 3500 mm 11 in of precipitation per year, rain can always be e pected here, although June to August are considered the wettest months.

The north of Chile The north of Chile is defined by a dry desert climate all year round. During the day, it is mostly sunny with high temperatures, which drop at night, sometimes below free ing. Particularly e treme climatic conditions prevail on the Altiplano. Due to the altitude average 3,600 m.a.s.l. 11, 00 ft. , temperatures drop below free ing easily at night.

Patagonia Southern Patagonia has a cold-temperate steppe climate all year round, with temperatures often below free ing. At higher altitudes, the climate can be considered polar. During the summer months, temperatures rise up to 5 C 5 F in e ceptional cases. Precipitation rain and snow is relatively regular throughout the year.

Chile s central one The Chile s central one reflects a editerranean climate, which is characteri ed by long and very warm summers. The winter is relatively short, somewhat cooler and characteri ed by slightly increasing precipitation. This applies particularly to the valley that is located in between the Andes and the coastal cordillera, including the metropolitan region of Santiago.

Islands A subtropical climate with moderate rainfall can be found on the Juan Fernande Archipelago and on Easter Island. This island, which geographically belongs to Polynesia, is one of the most isolated inhabited places in the world and located at a distance of appro imately 3,500 km 1 0 mi from the Chilean mainland.

SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA This little town is an oasis in the middle of the driest desert in the world. Visit the amazing natural sights close to San Pedro A Sunset in the oon Valley, the El Tatio eysers at dawn or the beautiful lagoons iscanti iniques are just a few of the atractions you can e perience here.

EASTER IS AND The island of Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island, is located around 3,500 km from mainland Chile. The origins of the Rapa Nui date back to the 5th century, even though many mysteries remain. Rapa Nui developed a comple belief system and created the monumental oai figures, which do not e ist in any other part of the world.

VO CANOES Volcanoes can be found everywhere in Chile, there are more than 000, about 500 of them still active. Some of them can even be ascended on special e cursions. In the lake region the volcanoes are an important part of the beautiful landscape.

A TIP ANO The Altiplano is a flat plateau of very high altitude between 3000 and 500m in the north of Chile. It o ers a variety of landscapes with e treme contrasts from arid desert to fertile valleys. A large biodiversity can be found in the diferent national parks and reserves.

Day Santiago Calama San Pedro De Atacama After breakfast, a transfer takes us back to the airport in order to board a northbound flight to Calama in the Atacama Desert. Upon arrival, we make our way directly to the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama. During leisure time in the afternoon, you have the opportunity to explore San Pedro. (B)

Day 3 Atacama Salt Flats Moon Valley After breakfast, we visit the Atacama Salt Flats and Cha a agoon. On our way, we stop in the indigenous village of Toconao, where we visit the pla a and church. e then reach the Salar de Atacama, Chile s largest salt flat. In the afternoon we visit the Moon Valley. This surreal place, one of the most spectacular in the Atacama Desert, owes its name to the unique geological formations that resemble a lunar landscape. e e plore this beautiful landscape and visit the strange creatures that nature has created from salt and clay.

Day 4 Traditions And Customs Of The Indigenous Atacame o People Today we visit the municipality of Ayllu de Coyo, where we get to know two Atacame o families and let them guide us along their traditional paths. In the afternoon a unique e perience awaits us The traditional caravan of the Atacame o people. This walk with llamas allows us to relive this centuriesold way of transport in the desert, while our guide tells us a lot about this symbolic Andean animal. ,

Day 5 San Pedro De Atacama This day is at leisure, allowing you to rela or visit other attractions in the area. e recommend a visit to the geysers of El Tatio. (B)

Day 6 San Pedro De Atacama Calama Puerto Varas After breakfast, a transfer takes us back to Calama Airport, from where we fly via Santiago to Puerto Montt in the Chilean lake region. From here, we continue our journey to Puerto Varas. (B)

Day National Park Vicente Pere Rosales & German Immigrants In The ake Region After breakfast, we enjoy a scenic ride along lanquihue ake to Vicente P re Rosales National Park. Here we visit the famous rapids of Petrohu river, one of the wildest in Chile. e then continue to nearby All Saints ake, Todos os Santos located at the foot of Osorno Volcano. After a walk along the lava beach, we move on to the small village of as Cascadas. Here we meet a erman

Day The Indigenous Huilliche In San Juan De a Costa Today we travel to the homeland of the Huilliche indigenous people, the southern brother tribe of the apuche natives. In the coastal area of San Juan de la Costa, we learn about their local traditions while enjoying beautifully pristine coastal landscape. After lunch with a local family, we hike through the ancient native Valdivian rainforest. Here we meet the family of onko tribal leader Carlos Paillamanque and learn more about the cosmovision and way of life of the Huilliche and apuche. In the afternoon we make our way back to Puerto Varas. ,

Day Puerto Varas Punta Arenas In the morning, a transfer takes us to the airport in Puerto ontt. After a two-and-ahalf-hour flight, we land in Punta Arenas, one of the most southern (and at the same time windiest cities in the world. The afternoon at leisure is a good opportunity for exploring the city s main points of interest.

Day 10 Punta Arenas Torres Del Paine National Park Today we embark on a journey into the Patagonian heartland. Our route takes us through the typical pampa landscape of the agallanes region, past huge Patagonian estancias sheep farms . In the afternoon, we reach the stunning Torres del Paine National Park, without a doubt an absolute highlight of every Chile vacation. It is here, where the vastness of the Patagonian steppe meets the steep peaks of the South Cordillera, that nature shows its most breathtaking side. (B)

Day 11 Torres Del Paine Puerto Natales Today we dedicate ourselves to e ploring Torres del Paine National Park, one of America s most impressive natural attractions. 000-meter-high peaks rise out of the vast steppe abruptly huge glaciers, deep blue lakes and wind-blown, gnarled southern beeches determine the picture. Our tour finishes in Puerto Natales, where we spend the night.

Day 1 Santiago After pick-up at Santiago Airport, you are taken to your hotel in the center. e then set out on a city tour to get a glimpse of this metropolitan city. Amongst others, we visit the historic city center, the market, the cathedral and the main square. Santa ucia Hill rewards us with stunning views of the city and the impressive Andes ountains.

Day Santiago Puerto ontt Puerto Varas After breakfast, a transfer takes us back to the airport. Our southbound flight takes us along the Andes ountains to the capital of the ake District, Puerto ontt. Here our driver awaits us to take us to the picturesque nearby town of Puerto Varas on the shore of lanquihue ake.

Day Puerto Varas Chaiten Yelcho ake Today we begin our journey southwards on the Carretera Austral. e cross the rugged Patagonian fjords on several ferries. Eventually we reach Chait n, a small town under reconstruction after the une pected eruption of the eponymous volcano in 00 . The locals tell us about the enormous e orts

of reconstruction after being able to return to their village.

Day 5 Chaiten Yelcho ake a Junta Puyuhuapi Today we continue our journey on the Carretera Austral further south. The road leads us deep into untouched wilderness, along the turquoise R o Fr o, glacier-covered mountain massifs, tranquil lakes and picturesque waterfalls.

Day 6 ueulat National Park Coyhaique It is only a short ride to Queulat National Park, where you can choose to do a 3-hour hike to the viewpoint of the impressive hanging glacier Ventisquero Colgante and its waterfall. The journey then continues along the wild vegetation of the Carretera Austral southward. Through the wild and romantic valley of the Simpson River, we reach Coyhaique.

Day Coyhaique eneral Carrera ake After leaving Coyhaique, the road leads through an increasingly barren steppe landscape and crosses a deep valley, whose rock face shimmers in a variety of colors. The Devil s ountain Pass , o ers a stunning panorama of the Cerro Castillo massif and up to the summits and glaciers of the northern ice field. Chile s largest lake, eneral Carrera ake, is already visible at a distance.

Day ago eneral Carrera Perito Moreno (Argentina) Along ake eneral Carrera we approach the border with Argentina. The climate changes slowly, and transforms our surroundings into a drier steppe landscape. e pass the town of Chile Chico. Shortly after crossing the border with Argentina, we reach the village of Perito Moreno.

Day 10 Ruta 0 Fit Roy assif Today we travel on the legendary Ruta 0. Eventually we leave Ruta 0 and drive westwards towards the Andes Mountain Range. On clear days, you will soon be able to see the fantastic rock formations of the Fit Roy assif, before reaching the town of El Chaltén.

Day 11 Fitzroy Massif Trekking enthusiasts from all over the world hike its many trails in the os laciares National Park. e are no e ception today you have the possibility to embark on an e ploration of the spectacular mountain scenery during an easy hike of several hours.

Day 1 El Calafate os laciares National Park Perito oreno lacier Today we drive past the Viedma ake to El Calafate. Immediately after arrival, we continue on to Perito oreno lacier. Floating icebergs testify the pro imity of one of the most powerful natural events in the world with unimaginable force, the Perito oreno lacier moves enormous masses of

ice from the continental ice field down into the valley, which then crash thunderously from its white-blue walls into the lake.

Day 13 El Calafate Torres Del Paine National Park On Ruta 0, we cross the Argentine pampas one last time on our way to the Chilean border. ack in Chile, we head to Torres del Paine National Park. Herds of guanacos on a gently undulating steppe landscape, rugged red-gray rock massifs, granite towers, milkygreen shining lakes and gleaming white ice fields combine to form a magnificent panorama.

Day 14 Torres Del Paine National Park A demanding full day hike takes us all the way to the foot of the Paine Towers (the Torres) today. We walk up in serpentines to Refugio El Chileno mountain hut. The last meters involve some scrambling, until we reach the easternmost point of the lagoon. From here we enjoy a wonderful view of the three towers.

Day 15 Torres Del Paine Punta Arenas Today s destination is Punta Arenas. On the way, we visit the nearby cave of ilodon, where the remains of the primitive ilodon animal were found and a life-si ed statue can be visited.

Day 16 Punta Arenas Santiago Transfer to the airport of Punta Arenas.

Full payment is due and payable to us 65 days prior to the scheduled date of departure from Australia and will be notified to you in your confirmation of booking. 5. e are not responsible for any changes made by a Third-Party Travel Provider to the balance due date and prices are not guaranteed until payment has been made in full and documents have been processed and issued to you. Failure to pay a deposit within days from the date of confirmation or in full by the due date may result in the automatic cancellation of your booking without refund of monies paid, unless you have been unable to complete the booking and pay the balance by the due date, due to our fault. 6. ookings made within 35 days of scheduled departure require full payment on request. . AMENDMENTS BY THE TRAVELLER 1 . Once itineraries are confirmed with a deposit on file, one amendment free of charge is permitted provided the amendment is made 65 days prior to departure. All amendments within 65 days prior to departure are subject to a A 50 per booking amendment fee plus any additional fees charged by the Third-Party Travel Provider.

CANCELLATION & AMENDMENTS BY THIRD PARTY TRAVEL PROVIDER 13. If the Third Party Travel Provider changes any part of your booking for reasons beyond its control, for e ample, if a Third Party Travel Provider changes its schedules, overbooks, or if there are any changes in applicable surcharges, fees or ta es, we will use our reasonable endeavours to notify you. If any such changes result in your Travel Product costing more or otherwise being materially di erent, then you may cancel the Travel Product and we will refund any monies already paid less any fees charged by us under these terms and conditions and by the Third Party Travel Providers under the terms and conditions you agreed with them. Please check with your consultant before cancelling or amending a Travel Product in these circumstances as some ThirdParty Travel Providers may charge cancellation fees up to 100 of the Travel Product s price as per their terms and conditions.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS 1 . Travel documents will be issued after final payment has been received. Travel documents may include special conditions including restrictions such as baggage si e and weight limits. Travel documents are not transferable. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport holder and some carriers will deny carriage if the name varies and the booking may be cancelled. e have no responsibility for any loss or damage arising from the incorrect entry of a passenger s name or as a result of the Third-Party Travel Provider s policies. River Cruises – shore excursions & water levels The nature of some shore e cursions in Asia means that for some e cursions there are no formal jetties. hile sta are always on hand to assist, those with limited mobility may find these areas di cult to access. Due to the unpredictable nature of weather and its e ect on river conditions and water levels, it may on occasions be necessary to complete some elements of the itinerary by land, rather than by boat, or to alter the route of the vessel including substituting some planned stops for others. Such changes can occur at any time without prior notice or warning and no refunds will be given in this instance. On the lower ekong River between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, large seasonal variations in water levels necessitate low-water and high-water itineraries. The only significant di erence is a vehicle transfer to from Siem Reap in place of cruising across Tonle Sap ake. As a guide, low water itineraries are applied typically from January to early July, but this may vary depending on rainfall across the river catchments. Ticketing For international and domestic departure, e-tickets will be issued upon payment and completion of the booking process. In some instances, an e-ticket on the flights or fares selected may not be able to be issued. ookings that cannot be issued as an e-ticket will have to be changed to comply with e-ticket regulations. All other travel documentation, such as hotel, car hire, transfer and tour vouchers will be emailed to you as an e-document. Should the Third-Party Travel Provider issue paper vouchers, these will be posted to you. Accessibility Travellers with a physical or mental disability that may require assistance during their trip must advise us of their needs upon booking and declare all pre-e isting medical conditions. This enables us to ensure the suitability of each booking to the individual traveller. Bedding configuration Requests for specific bedding types must be made at the time of booking, however, cannot be guaranteed. Please note that double rooms can be fitted with either double or twin beds and that single rooms are often smaller than other rooms. Triple rooms usually comprise a twinbed room with an additional sofa bed, roll-away bed or a fold-away bed for a third person.
