Captivating Kuching
Day 1 Kuching
On arrival in Kuching, be transferred to your hotel. Stay the next four nights at Abell Hotel.
Day 2 Kuching
This morning visit semi-wild orangutans who have been rescued from captivity and trained to survive in the surrounding forest reserve. The rehabilitated animals roam freely in the rainforest and often return to the centre at feeding time. Later this afternoon, visit the award winning Sarawak Cultural Museum which showcases Sarawak’s unique and diverse culture. Authentic buildings are set amidst a scenic 17-acre site and is populated by members of Sarawak’s many ethnic groups, going about everyday activities. These include wood and bamboo carving, beadwork, weaving, sago-processing, and tree-bark cloth making amongst others. Visitors can learn how to throw a spinning top, try a Penan blowpipe or pick out a tune on an Orang Ulu’s sape. (B)
Day 3 Kuching
Meet with your local guide to explore Kuching’s city highlights on a walking tour. See traditional villages, enjoy local cuisine and stop to enjoy the colourful Sarawak Layer Cake. Spend the afternoon free at leisure. (B) Day 4 Kuching
Discover Bako National Park, a small peninsular that is only accessible by boat and is home to seven distinct ecosystems. Bako’s most famous residents are the bizarre proboscis monkeys. It is also home to the silvered langurs, long-tailed macaque monkeys and bearded pigs. Well-marked trails lead to rugged jungle-covered hilltops and secluded beaches. (BL)

After breakfast be transferred to the airport for your onward journey. (B)
