Get Inspired

Our Mission Inside the Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing orchestra music to young children in Colorado, cultivating music appreciation and enhancing their education through an engaging first-hand experience with the orchestra. Our programs are an experience like no other – families get to discover what it is to be truly inside the orchestra as they are seated on the floor and surrounded by our professional musicians. Conductors are the tour guides through the program, facing the audience and teaching them about the music while it is playing around them. By incorporating contemporary music, we teach children that orchestral music is all around them and part of their everyday lives. By introducing classical music, we help them explore music they might never have heard before. By encouraging them to interact directly with the conductor and the musicians, we show them that music is designed to be explored and enjoyed. By highlighting a child their age excelling musically, we inspire them to pick up an instrument and remind them that music is accessible. By highlighting dance, opera, and storytelling, we show them how art forms work together. There is no alternative to the immersive experience Inside the Orchestra provides.

Our Vision Our programs are designed to engage the budding musician and the complete novice; the child who has discovered a love of music, and the one who needs a first introduction; the future concert pianist, and the future audience member. We know that creating opportunities for children to engage with music is a critical part of a full education, and of building a thriving community. We want children to engage with music with their minds - through imagination and storytelling; with their bodies through physical movement; and with their heart - through emotional connection.

Our Programs: Family Concerts Inside the Orchestra for Families is an engaging 50-minute performance created to get families and children of all ages “inside the orchestra. Using a 15-17 piece orchestra, the family concerts incorporate components of our school and Tiny Tots programs, to introduce the family and the community to the world of Inside the Orchestra.

Our Programs: Youth Soloists Inside the Orchestra proudly fosters young talent with our Concerto Program. Tiny Tots and school programs all feature one or more soloists (Grades K-6) who perform with the orchestra, demonstrating peer success to our young audiences. The Concerto Program serves as a valuable launch pad for future performance opportunities, giving soloists experience, confidence and inspiration to pursue their talents.

Feedback

Our Feedback

The instrumentation, repertoire, and personnel reflected a well throughout out music program, enhancing current music program as well as giving out students a chance to participate in a unique experience. This was an outstanding program that had a great impact on the kids here. As a parent, I loved how the orchestra experience became a very accessible experience for my kids (ages 5, 3 and 18mos.). The conductor interacted with his audience in a way that was engaging and certainly age-appropriate. I felt this was such an enriching and unique experience. My daughter told me she wanted to learn violin after a Tiny Tots concert. She loved the music and was inspired by the little girl who played the piano solo. That was 4 years ago, now she's 8 and her violin has become a part of our family.

I have taught for 20 years and yours was the very best assembly I've ever attended! What a gift to our students to experience the beauty and majesty of the music13from the inside out. Thank you, thank you,
