leep is a necessary biological process and has long been recognized as an essential determinant of human health and performance. Whilst not all of sleep's functions are fully understood, it is known to restore energy, promote healing, interact with the immune system, and impact brain function and behavior. Even transient changes in sleep patterns, such as acute sleep deprivation, can impair judgement and cognitive performance, whilst long-term aberrations have been linked to disease development. Global trends in sleep suggest a decrease in average sleep duration. Given these trends and the implications of sleep for health and well-being, better characterization of sleep characteristics represents a public health priority. In recent years, there has been a significant expansion in the development and use of multi-modal sensors and technologies to monitor physical activity, sleep, and circadian rhythms. These developments make accurate sleep monitoring at scale a possibility for the first time. Vast amounts of multi-sensor data are being generated with potential applications ranging from large-scale epidemiological research linking sleep patterns to disease to wellness applications, including the sleep coaching of individuals with chronic conditions. However, to realize these technologies' full potential for individuals, medicine and research, several significant challenges must be overcome. There are essential outstanding questions regarding performance evaluation and data storage, curation, processing, integration, modelling, and interpretation.
To overcome these challenges and provide comprehensive care, sleep disorder solution providers leverage expertise across neuroscience, clinical medicine, bioengineering, electrical engineering, epidemiology, computer science, mHealth and human-computer interaction to discuss the digitization of sleep from an interdisciplinary perspective and state-of-the-art sleep-monitoring technologies. These companies also explore the opportunities and challenges from data acquisition to the eventual application of insights in clinical and consumer settings. Embracing the journey of such exemplary companies and organizations, Insights Care's latest edition, '10 Best Sleep Disorder Care Solution providers,' highlights the novel solutions offered by these stalwarts of the healthcare industry in the following pages, along with two trendy articles crafted by our in-house editorial team. o you feel exhausted and have very low energy throughout your day even when you sleep 6-8 hours at night? Or, on the contrary, have you heard of people complaining of how they have spent a night tossing and turning and hence feel tired, cranky, and out of sorts that day? According to a study, 70 percent of the world population between the age of 20 and 59 report having sleep-related issues regularly. Such sleep difficulties can be associated with stress, hectic schedules, or other outside influence. Hence, people feel that this is considered "normal." However, this daily fatigue, anxiousness, and tiredness could also indicate having a sleep disorder. If such problems are left untreated, they can raise the risk of having a heart attack or stroke and can make a person more prone to many chronic diseases. Depending on the type of disorder, Michigan Center for TMJ and Sleep Wellness facilitates a wide range of treatments for headaches, jaw pain, or ringing in your ears from a TMJ disorder. It provides a one-stop solution for daytime sleepiness, loss of energy and focus, or incessant snoring. With experience in treating patients for over two decades, Dr Jeffrey S. Haddad, has become an expert in the state of Michigan for TMJ and sleep disorders. He has an astonishing journey of training other dentists and doctors using the latest techniques to address TMJ symptoms and/or a sleeping-breathing disorder. A Motivational Beginning The Michigan Center for TMJ and Sleep Wellness was established to help other medical professionals with their patients who were suffering from TMJ and Sleep disorders. Dr Haddad has been identifying and treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients in his general practice, Rochester Advanced Dentistry, since 2004. It soon became very apparent to him how underserved this population was.
patients in need. They started seeing patients over at Unasource two Fridays per month. Then within three months, they were treating patients every Friday. Within six months, it went on to treating patients on Mondays and Fridays! Through this process, they truly realized how many patients needed their help and how underserved the sleep-breathing disordered patient population was. It was time to build a center that could properly treat these sleep-breathing disorders, give these people the help they needed, and get them back to living the healthy and fulfilled life they deserved. A Unique and Only Solution in the State of Michigan The practice treats Snoring, Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), and other sleep breathing disorders with a completely different approach. The Michigan Center is the only practice in the state of Michigan to utilize techniques of muscle relaxation and measurement of the facial muscles to determine the optimal jaw position for sleep appliances. This not only will treat snoring and sleep apnea, but it also supports the patient's jaw in a muscularly comfortable position resulting in an even healthier night's sleep. This computerized jaw tracking and muscle diagnostic technology is not used anywhere in the state of Michigan and offers people the most advanced treatment for OSA in the country. Dr Haddad lectures nationally on this approach and is one of the foremost experts in teaching other doctors this technique. With these aspects and Dr Haddad's experience, patients receive an elite level of treatment and the most innovative sleep appliance to address their sleep apnea. Maximizing Outreach
In 2014, he was personally asked by members of a large medical group in Troy, Michigan, called Unasource Healthcare to help treat their patients who were looking for answers outside of a CPAP machine, which most patients cannot tolerate.
Dr Haddad was one of the first dentists in the state of Michigan to start treating snoring and obstructive sleep apnea patients with dental devices. He pioneered a very advanced approach to treating OSA and snoring many years ago. Because of the thousands of patients he has successfully treated, more awareness of this lifethreatening condition has occurred in Michigan. The office continues to work with medical professionals throughout the state to help people who are suffering from sleep apnea.
Based on the vast population of people that were suffering from sleep breathing disorders, Dr. Haddad saw the necessity to find a solution to identify and treat more
In addition, the Michigan Center facilitates home sleep testing (HST) without the need for in-office or hospital study. It is

as simple as calling the office and sending in a copy of your driver's license and medical insurance card and gathering some personal information. Dr Haddad states, "We will determine all your medical benefits and your out-of-pocket expenses before any testing. If you then give consent, we will send the ResMed ApneaLink Air Type III home sleep test device directly to your home."
The company has a proven solution to snoring and sleep apnea, which will help its clients, help their overall health, and help the well-being of their marriages.
He further states that all patients are tested for two nights which increases the company's success rate and minimizes potential retesting occurrences. Testing both nights ensures that it gathers enough data for its affiliate board-certified sleep physicians to interpret your sleep patterns. According to Dr Haddad, "We will then have a proper diagnosis so that we can give you the ideal treatment for your condition.” Advanced Offerings for Multiple Sleep-related Problems The latest statistics show that 52% of patients with a sleep breathing disorder also exhibit TMJ symptoms or are prone to them. These symptoms include headaches, migraines, jaw pain, ear pain, tinnitus (ear ringing), vertigo, and neck pain. Therefore, treating these patients with mandibular advancement devices (MAD) with their advanced techniques minimizes the aggravation of these TMJ symptoms and, many times, helps relieve them. The center oversees many patients who have had standard sleep appliances made at other offices who are now suffering from severe TMJ symptoms because of improper fitting and jaw positions. This measured and precise approach gives the practice's patients the most comfortable MAD sleep appliance possible, resulting in optimal sleep and wellness. Strategizing the Future When speaking about the industry's future, Dr Haddad expressed, "I believe and hope that the future of sleep breathing disorders will have clinicians who also understand the importance of TMJ disorders and how to manage them.” According to him, 75% of TMJ disordered patients have a sleep breathing disorder and 52% of sleep breathing disordered patients have TMJ symptoms or are prone to them. These are essentially the same people. Many people are suffering daily from debilitating headaches, migraines, and facial pain and have lost hope of finding relief. Furthermore, most physicians and patients are not aware of the myriad of symptoms that fall under the TMJ disorder category. There is a need to have medical providers properly identify these patients and educate them on both conditions to treat them properly. Dr Haddad believes, "When a patient finds us to treat their sleep apnea, our office also informs them that the symptoms they are living with are a result of a TMJ disorder." He further states most patients are living on pain medications because they were not accurately diagnosed
and were never told how these symptoms were related. A Note to Remember When asked to give a piece of advice to budding entrepreneurs, Dr Haddad said, "Be passionate. Have compassion. And realize that what you are doing for these patients is life changing. This may sound like an exaggerated comment, but I hear this daily! Dr Haddad, you changed my life! Dr Haddad, you SAVED my life! Dr Haddad, you SAVED my marriage!” According to him, the last comment is quite common in his practice, and it is such a powerful statement. When a man and a woman stop sleeping in the same bed or same room, their relationship can adversely change, and intimacy can slowly disappear. Hence, the center has a proven solution to snoring and sleep apnea, which will help its clients, help their overall health, and help the well-being of their marriages. A Word of Appreciation Below are a couple of testimonials of their extremely pleased patients. Anthony Costa writes: My sleep quality is now restored thanks to Michigan Center for TMJ and Sleep Wellness. It was an e ortless process; everyone was extremely professional and helpful. My appliance was comfortable, and my snoring stopped immediately. I feel refreshed and completely awake for the entire day, better yet, my TMJ pain subsided in about 30 days. Very thankful for Dr Haddad and the sta !! J. writes: Cannot say enough about Dr Haddad and the team. I su er from severe sleep apnea, and my snoring was not good for my home life. I tried the CPAP machine and could not do it. I am a stomach sleeper, and it just is not comfortable. The sleep appliance I received was just what I needed. I immediately stopped snoring the first night. Slept through the night without multiple wakeups. I feel energized in the morning, and I can take the appliance with me everywhere. Thanks again to Dr Haddad, Christine, and the whole team! It changed my life!

There is a need to have medical providers properly identify these patients, and more importantly educate them on both conditions to treat them properly.

10 Best Sleep Disorder Care Solution Providers

Sleep Services I n recent years, many people are diagnosed with sleep loss, which has far-reaching implications for human well-being. Studies suggest that 45 per cent of the global population is deprived of sleep. As sleep deprivation is becoming a global problem, the sleep disorder solution providers must offer appropriate solutions to overcome these issues. Indeed, among the many solution providers, Benchmark Sleep Services excels in the niche by offering solutions to deal with all kinds of issues. The organization is dedicated to providing outstanding service which achieves good patient outcomes without compromising the highest medical and ethical standards. In an interview with Insights Care, Christian Rabatsch, CEO, shared some facts about the company's services and the inculcation of technology in achieving results for the betterment of sleep. Christian, brief our audience about your company. Kindly tell us the source of inspiration for starting the Sleep Disorder Care Solution Provider company. Benchmark Sleep Services was born in October 2011, following my career as a sales manager with Fisher and Paykel Healthcare, Somnomed, and Philips Respironics. I felt many suppliers of sleep apnea equipment were not providing the level of services needed to help people through their treatment journey. There were a few large companies that employed people with little experience, and these companies were more about financial rewards. I felt there was a need for a company that took the treatment experience to a new level. We want to be the Benchmark in the industry hence the name of the company being Benchmark Sleep Services.

The patients who need treatment can have a choice of machine and mask and this is vital as every face is different, and it is important to try and get the right mask. CPAP machines are the gold standard in treating sleep apnea. These machines work like a vacuum cleaner in reverse and will provide positive pressure to the upper airway and allows for this to prevent the patient from stopping breathing during sleep. The consequences are immense. The patient will maintain high oxygenation, avoid pressure on the heart, and therefore the brain will relax during sleep, and people get a better quality of sleep. People wake up feeling more refreshed,

Pioneering leadership
Christian started as a science graduate from Sydney University in 1990, and he had a sabbatical overseas for three years in Europe. Upon returning to Australia, he was a pioneer in establishing over four sleep units in NSW and was a manager at Bankstown Sleep Unit. He then moved to Fisher and Paykel healthcare as their NSW state manager and spent time at Somnomed and finally was the National key Account Manager at Philips Healthcare.
Experience in the industry was never an issue, and Christian realized he had a network with the doctors who understood his passion to assist people with sleeping issues. Christian developed a loyal following within the sleep community as doctors knew he employed clinical staff with good communication skills. Support is vital to people using their treatment, and Christian knew this and made a clear plan to make sure people used their machines and were motivated to continue.
have greater daytime function and productivity, can have reduced Blood pressure, and there will be no more snoring. In your opinion, how can sleep disorder care solution provider companies use the latest technologies in their products and services to promote healthy sleeping habits in individuals? One of the latest innovations in sleep treatments has been the invention of apps and how they link to sleep apnea machines. This not only allows for the data to live in the cloud but also allows our staff and doctors to see the data remotely. This allows for early intervention if people are having issues with the usage of their machines. Data also motivate patients by giving them insight into how they are progressing, and people tend to continue using because of this. In your opinion, what could be the future of the sleep and wellness solution providers' companies? And how are you strategizing your company's operations for that future? The industry is at a crossroads at the moment because of the internet. Online pricing is going down, and people expect to get the best service and the best price. I suspect that those companies who are well established and big enough to compete with online sellers will continue. Still, I feel there will be a lot of smaller operators who cannot compete, and this will eventually lead to a handful of big suppliers dominating the market.
Any people starting in this industry need to do their homework and establish a good network with trusted health professionals who will support their business. Invest in good staff, and technology and expect it will take time to get things off the ground. Always maintain strong integrity as your reputation is integral to your success. How do you envision scaling your company's services in 2022 and beyond? We would like to grow the business by establishing more locations in Australia. It takes time for new locations to become established, and we need to work on cementing the relationships in areas where we have operations whilst looking at areas where a need is not being met. Give us a few testimonials from your clients or customers and awards or recognition that accurately highlight your company's position in the market. We received the award from Fisher and Paykel in 2014 for number one supplier of CPAP in NSW. I have a number of Physicians who would supply excellent referrals, such as Professor Peter Cistulli, Dr Jonathon Williamson, Dr Anna Muhammadeh, and Dr David Jankelson, who are KOLs in the area of sleep disorders. I have individual customers who would be happy to supply testimonials if needed but would have to check with them first.
Our strategy has always been to reduce the pricing to a level that is economical but not as cheap as online. People do value good service, and we have faith that people realize that service comes at a price. We have had to introduce consultation fees to compensate for the loss of income from the sales price. As an established leader, what would be your advice to the budding entrepreneurs and enthusiasts aspiring to venture into the industry as sleep and wellness solution providers?

The team at Dynamic Dental Wellness and I believe in a whole-body approach to health because oral health is intertwined with total body health. I got inspired to work with sleep patient because my dad suffered from sleep apnea, was on a cpap and passed away. I remember my dad loud snoring from when I was a little girl. It sounded like a lion was in the house. None of my dad's physicians or dentists ever asked him about his sleep habits, snoring or ever ordered a sleep test till the condition was very advanced and damage was already done to different organs due to low oxygen levels over many decades. I received my Diplomate status with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine for dedication to treatment and advanced education in the management of patients with sleep apnea. This is known as the highest credential a dentist can earn in dental sleep medicine. I am a full spectrum dentist who fuses together all aspects of modern dentistry and traditional health practices to optimize my patient's oral health. I incorporate features of the holistic and naturopathic community and utilize the most advanced technology in my practice so that I provide the absolute best treatment options available anywhere. My focus is 'integrative medicine' to understand and fix parts of the mouth and jaw that are malfunctioning, misaligned, or diseased due to factors elsewhere in the body. My results are what some call 'functional biological dentistry' or enhanced performance techniques that improve the whole body as a system.

LEEP! Don't you wish you got more of it? Well, it is so elusive that catching up to nine hours of adequate sleep-in today's rush life has become a task for many. Not getting the right amount of sleep makes an individual feel tired all the time, which can be a bummer, furthering its impact on one's mental and physical health. Clearly, lack of sleep has resulted in sleep disorders that are nothing new under the moon. The causes of these are quite simple and popular not just among the youth but across all age groups. The changes in lifestyle like consumption of substances like caffeine, alcohol, and many others, increased screen time, be it television or laptops, unhealthy eating patterns, and lack of physical activities have resulted in sleep deprivation.

In this article, we are going to highlight the significance and development of technology that has helped to introduce state-of-the-art innovations in order to cure sleep disorders. Below are some of the key technologies that have helped individuals get a peaceful and blissful slumber. Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) The continuous positive airway pressure technology was discovered back in the 80s. This revolutionary technology made it easy for physicians and patients to treat sleep apnea which at once was resolved through surgical measures.
The technology uses therapeutic treatment, which has been evolving ever since its invention, becoming more convenient and easier to use. The latest AutoCPAP has features that self-adjust itself based on an in-built algorithm, responding to breathing disturbances in realtime. It is such a well-built cloud system that helps in data collection as well as therapy adjustments.
source of data. Apart from beds, there are many other wearables like pads and integrated mattresses, which also capture the same information. The beds have features like raising the head section in order to alleviate snoring. Sleep beds also have temperature regulations which can possibly alleviate insomnia symptoms. External Bedside Monitoring
Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulator The last decade has seen massive advancements with respect to newer technological development. Likewise, the hypoglossal nerve stimulator has become one of the effective surgical treatments for curing severe sleep apnea. This pacesetter for the tongue activates the airway muscles during deep sleep, thus relieving the condition of individuals who cannot tolerate CPAP. Sleep Apps With newer developments, scientists and researchers are revolutionizing beds, bedrooms, and also the person who sleeps. One such example of this revolution is the sleeping apps. It is humanly impossible to count the number of sleeping apps that exist in today's world. The apps have various features that help them track sleep and wakefulness through motion sensors. These motion sensors collect information that can be further used to synchronize a morning alarm. Apart from this, there exist various apps which propagate relaxation techniques by playing soothing sounds. Certain apps have features that help give individuals advice and also coordinate with wearable technology and other devices. Wearables and Fitness Trackers Wearables and fitness trackers come in the form of wristbands and smartwatches. They are well incorporated with movement data, heart rate, and even blood oxygen measurements in order to estimate the status of one's sleep. These trackers and wearables also help guide the individual by offering changes in order to improve sleep.
External Bedside monitoring infrastructure is supposed to be placed on a nightstand. This technology has helped physicians and individuals collect information on the kind of sleep environment a person sleeps in, bringing together data on sleep and potentially extending information. Indoor Air Quality Monitor As the beds have got smart, the homes have got smarter. The best example of this is the indoor Air Quality Monitoring device which helps to measure air quality, humidity, temperature as well as noise. Audio Sleep Devices If an individual is facing severe insomnia, then the audio sleep technology helps them get to sleep by providing an environment that is completely sonic shut. These sleep earplugs block the sounds and solve the problem of insomnia. These plugs have soft tips are the end which does not cause trouble while sleeping. They help entirely to block noise and get you a good night's sleep with sweeter dreams. Wrapping Up As all of us love to jump into our beds after hectic days, the struggle to drift off earlier can be less daunting after the use of various technologically advanced devices. These sleep devices have lent a helping hand to people who are sleepdeprived and have provided them with blissful slumber. These devices have encouraged sleep patterns in various ways with the n-number of features they have, resulting in nothing but a peaceful, blissful, and indeed a good night's sleep!

Orbicularis oris muscle, also known as musculus orbicularis oris, is a complex, multi-layered muscle that attaches through a thin, superficial musculoaponeurotic system to the dermis of the upper lip and lower lip and serves as an attachment site for many other facial muscles around the oral region. If this muscle is not substantially fit, you can face severe difficulties in sleeping, leading to stress-related problems. However, every quandary has its solution!
Enabling a proactive therapy with an innovative idea, Dr Yoshiaki Akihiro(ex-lecturer at Tokyo Dental College) invented the device 'Patakara® Lip Trainer' Originated in the year 2000 in Japan, the device was further patented as a Myofunctional Therapy Device in the world. One such clinic that is utilizing the device for its patients who suffer from sleep disorders is OCC (Oya Culture Centre) Pvt Ltd (Since 2003, Japanese firm in S'pore). Under the coherent leadership of Mr Oya Seiichiro, Director, the clinic is assisting its patients with the active use of the medical device not only to cure sleep disorders

but can rehabilitate synapses in the brain and improve IQ and behaviour for the patients. In an interview with Insights Care, Mr Seiichiro sheds light on the benefits of this magnificent medical device, highlighting his experience and opinions on its use and significant muscle improvement. Mr Seiichiro, please tell us about Patakara® Original Lip Trainer from Japan in detail. Over 5,000 clinics and hospitals inside and outside Japan are used for radical medical treatment cures. The result in training with the simple device is much bigger than what you expect! Patakara® Lip Trainer is a worldwide used device for natural health and the beauty lost due to the lack of facial muscles that can be improved. Also, training four times a

day for three minutes can creates new synapses in the brain and enhance IQ and behaviour. What inspired you to cure Sleep Disorders and enable a sustainable future for your patients? I was facing some breathing difficulties. I used to breathe through my mouth. I had a stuffy nose, altogether with a mouth ulcer, bad breath, bleeding gums from a young age; I was snoring from my early 30s and going to the toilet every night after going to bed. One day, I found out about a simple instrument called a lip trainer (Patakara) invented by a dentist. When I started using it, eventually, I stopped snoring—it was quite a surprising result that amazed me. All of the chronic illnesses mentioned above have subsided in nasal breathing. It is so strange that it is completely cured, so I asked the developer (Dr Yoshiaki Akihiro) why the chronic illness has gone and the reason for each illness. I was further surprised to comprehend that the cause was weak muscles around the lips (orbicularis oris muscle), which is the main reason behind breathing through the mouth. And from that moment, my life changed drastically, in a positive way.

Since then, over the 20 years, we have provided more than one million services worldwide, and there are no complaints about the effectiveness or function of the equipment. We will continue to serve more people with the motto of "getting emotional and convinced and regaining health, energy, and smiles.” Tell us more about the Patakara® Lip Trainer and what makes it stand out in the industry? The concept of training the orbicularis oris and turning mouth breathing into nasal breathing to secure the airway does not yet exist except for the lip trainer device (patakara). Only Japan and Singapore are registered as medical devices, and other companies do not have skills that can be proved in clinical trials and understood and convinced by medical institutions. Patakara® Lip Trainer is the device for strengthening orbicularis oris muscle and facial muscle through lip exercise. You can feel really difference in two weeks and your mouth will stay put in a relaxed manner, even when you are asleep. And then, your chronic symptoms will be gone.

"Patakara® Lip Trainer" strengthens Mimic muscles and Orbicularis Oris muscles to change Mouth-breathing into Nose-breathing through lip-exercise Being patented in China, France, Germany, Japan, the U.K, and the USA, it is also by over 5,000 clinics and hospitals for radical treatment. In your opinion, how can Patakara® Lip Trainer promote healthy sleeping habits in individuals? Training to close the device with the lips tightly secures the airway by strengthening the muscles around the lips and jaws, naturally nasal breathing and posture lying on the back during sleep, supplying almost 100% oxygen to the brain and body. As a result, deep sleep causes the brain to rest for the first time, balancing the autonomic nerves and boosting immunity. I think many people take it as a theory on the desk, but that is why medical device registration is duly approved (Japan and Singapore only). A wide variety of doctors use Lip Trainer (Patakara) for patients. As an established leader, what would be your advice to the budding entrepreneurs and enthusiasts aspiring to venture into the competitive industry you are serving? It is essential to "get inspiring and convinced" through the service. Furthermore, I think it would be best if we could devote ourselves to making medical professionals, common users and end-users satisfied and truly happy. Please give us a few testimonials from your clients or customers and awards or recognition that accurately highlight your company's position in the market. These words of wisdom are from the individuals who personally used this device. These testimonials highlight "How this device can actively solve sleep disorder problems!” Yee Ling: A simple device is recently classified as medical equipment by our medical council. Mr Oya presented pervasive research and clinical use in hospitals locally and overseas. Very impressed and highly recommended anyone without troubling health issues to sit in and have a thought about it.

I have used it for nearly three weeks since I bought it around half a year ago, and my sleep apnea has vanished since then. I also observed significant adjustments to the mouth and nose region that aid in breathing. Sean: I bought your lip trainer a few years ago and had great success with it. I had lip incontinence for many years, and your product quickly cured it. Edward: I am using the patakara now and am very interested in the results. I am trying to get my lips to be horizontal as I have slightly slanting lips. I think it will work. As in anything to do with muscles, we must persevere and give it time.

ou are snoring. Your partner pushes you to your side with an elbow. One of you gets up and sleeps in another room. No matter what, you both are tired and exhausted the next morning. Sounds familiar? Well, you are not alone. It's estimated that 2 billion people worldwide suffer from snoring. Some studies show couples struggling with snoring have a higher divorce rate. Those couples who stay together often "sleep divorce," meaning they permanently sleep in separate bedrooms. However, people often fail to understand that snoring is caused by underlying obstructive sleep apnea, which is a treatable sleep disorder. Providing cures to such a wide range of sleep conditions and disorders, Sleep Better NYC offers sleep coaching, education, and care coordination to help its client get a peaceful sleep. In an interview with Insights Care, its Founder, Teresa DeNike, BS CCSH, talks about how the company provides wellness solutions to help its client attain healthy sleeping habits. Please brief our audience about your company. Kindly tell us the source of inspiration for starting the Sleep Disorder Care Solution Provider company. Sleep Better NYC is a company for sleep coaching, education, and care coordination. Our services are 100% virtual, so although we are based in Brooklyn, NY, we have worked with people from across the country- and even have some connections in other parts of the world! We believe that consumers deserve accurate, specific information and tools to improve their sleep. Patients also need education and support to get through the process of testing, treatment, follow-up, and lifestyle change. We are determined to bridge this obvious gap in sleep education and healthcare. Tell us more about the products that make your company stand out from the competition. First and foremost- our coaches have clinical experience and credentials- we are trained by sleep professionals. We understand the science behind the recommendations we give, and we have the ability to refer clients to the

appropriate professional when they need testing, medical treatment, and/or psychiatric support. My right-hand person is sleep coach Drew Copeland, who is a registered polysomnographic technologist, and a subject matter expert for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. We also have an incredible advisory panel, which we refer to for guidance. Tell us about how your company's products support individuals in improving their sleep and tell us about the latest products developed by your company to fulfill an individual's sleep and wellness goals. We believe in realistic recommendations and small changes for sustainable results. We try to meet people where they are, without judgment, and help them improve their sleep situation for the reasons THEY feel are the most important. With our new self-paced programs, we've made it easier to access accurate information, recommendations, and tools for better sleep. We offer virtual coaching sessions, but we found that people were having trouble committing to the time each week with family and work obligations. They would often message us between sessions about products, articles, and blogs they saw online. The information they saw was frustratingly generic and rarely fit their specific needs. We designed these self-paced programs to put everything in one place for them for easy learning and future reference. We include information on how to make improvements and how to seek additional help when needed. Then we are available via live chat or virtual session for more support. Teresa, tell us about your journey in the industry and how you have made the company excel in its niche. For the last 14 years, I've worked in medical and dental sales and consulting, but I never found my passion until I got involved in the world of sleep medicine about five years ago. I worked for the world leader in oral appliance therapy- a manufacturer of effective and comfortable devices that so few people knew existed. I saw the lifechanging impact these devices had on patients of physicians and dentists, and I wanted to do more to increase awareness. In 2020 I started an Instagram page, started taking online courses, and worked with clinicians and a sleep lab to prepare for the exam to earn my clinical credential- the

Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH). Since then, the response to this goal of awareness, education, and personalized support has been overwhelmingly positive. I made the transition to full-time business owner and sleep coach in October of 2021, and we've been growing and expanding outreach ever since. In your opinion, how can sleep disorder care solution provider companies use the latest technologies in their products and services to promote healthy sleeping habits in individuals? Being open to evolving technology and virtual communication is critical. We get questions regularly about consumer wearable devices, which are not the same as medical-grade testing and monitoring devices. Rather than ignore or dismiss these "wearables," we see them as learning tools. By explaining exactly what they do and don't do, we can set expectations and diminish some of the anxiety that some people feel when tracking their sleep. We can watch for trends and improvements over time and spot red flags that require (testing or) treatment. Our clients can sync their wearable devices to our free, secure portal, whether they are coaching clients or just using our selfpaced resources. Although some treatment and testing in person are necessary, we're realistic about what people want, what they have time for, and what they are going to follow through with. We certainly cannot give our best advice and coach through live chat, but if it's the only thing someone is willing to do, we are there for them in that way. For example, if someone just wants to know where they can find a local sleep dentist, we can provide that information via chat. In your opinion, what could be the future of the sleep and wellness solution providers' companies? And how are you strategizing your company's operations for that future? As wearable tracking technology improves in the consumer and medical space, we see this as being important for all providers. This kind of data empowers people to take their health into their own hands; it can encourage them when they see improvements and help find apparent reasons for times when sleep and wellness are not optimized.

As with anything wellness-related, collaboration is key. Companies with different offerings need to work together, just like clinicians with different specialties work together. That being said, the "wellness" space cannot completely cut out the clinical community, as you cannot supplement your way out of a food allergy, use breathwork to eradicate mental illness or use mouth tape to "cure" sleep apnea. We are committed to staying within our scope of work with so many people needing help, the fear of "competition" should be replaced with excitement for the potential of collaboration. As an established leader, what would be your advice to the budding entrepreneurs and enthusiasts aspiring to venture into the competitive industry you are serving? When I started my Instagram page just a little over a year ago, I could barely find any adult sleep coaches. Now, they are popping up every day (most are fitness professionals), and there are multiple apps that claim to coach as well. It is competitive but here's the silver lining- there is such an abundance of potential clients and people who need sleep support. A recent report showed over 237 million annual google searches about sleep. Almost every person has bouts of sleeplessness due to stress, and over a-third experience insomnia. It's known that about two billion people worldwide experience snoring. All this to say, there are so many people who need help and want help. My advice would be to get educated, stay focused, find your niche & commit to moving towards your goals. How do you envision scaling your company's services in 2022 and beyond? I know we will be able to scale to help significantly more people but working with partners who believe in our same values and integrate with our virtual model. Since releasing our self-paced programs, we plan to focus a bit more on the clinical world. In this way, we will be helping patients of physicians and dentists who have been diagnosed with a sleep disorder and need more support. We help guide patients through a process that can be complicated and frustrating. This allows our business, helps save the time of over-burdened clinicians, and helps patients get the information they need for positive outcomes.

Sleep is an incredible and dynamic journey between bed and breakfast. It is a journey from a tired yesterday to a delightful tomorrow or a day of stress and fatigue to a day starting with a refreshing morning. A systemic journey healing mind and body during sleep determines tomorrow's wellness. If the journey is loud and rough, tomorrow is tired and dull. If the journey is quiet and smooth, tomorrow is delightful. In this journey, breathing patterns play an essential role in ensuring a peaceful sleep.
In 1998, I decided to take a lifechanging risk to "Simply Help the World Sleep." I walked away from my law practice in Wisconsin. I moved to Atlanta to be near a major airport so I could travel and give talks at Hospital sleep support groups around the U.S. As I look forward to the new year of 2020, when I turn 77, I may have done better financially if I continued practicing law. However, the "feel good" inside of me has been worth more than money. I sleep well and receive "good news" from Chin-Up Strip users every day. www.chinupstrip.com. Over 10 million FDA cleared Chin-Up Strips die cut from 3M medical grade tape have been shipped to sleep centers, resellers, snorers and Cpap users worldwide.
Looking back, I did not sleep well for many years. During the decade of my 40s, I woke up congested and tired. My wife and children told me I snored loudly every time I fell asleep. Relatives and friends joked about my snoring the same as we had joked about my father's snoring before he died in his sleep in November 1983. I am sure my father would have lived longer with today's advances in sleep medicine. In the late 1980's I became involved, as a personal injury trial attorney, in two auto accident cases where drivers fell asleep while driving during the daytime! People died, and others were seriously injured. Those sad cases convinced me to schedule my first sleep study at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, in 1993. I was 50 years old in 1993. My RN wife told me for years that I stop breathing during sleep. After my first hospital sleep study, Dr Honsotia informed me that I am a nocturnal mouth breather suffering from a severe condition called sleep apnea.

My respiratory disturbance index (RDI) was 22. I would stop breathing, for ten seconds or longer, 22 times per hour! Dr Honsotia prescribed Cpap therapy for me. CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine changed my life. I had more energy, but dry mouth and jaw pain from the Chin Strap that jammed my upper and lower teeth together was a problem. During a follow-up doctor visit, I asked if mouth breathing could be the cause of my snoring and sleep apnea and dry mouth. Dr Honsotia said: "I wish we had a tolerable cure for mouth breathing. That would help you.” After that doctor visit, my RN wife and I worked on coming up with a simple way to keep my mouth closed during sleep. We laughed about how difficult it may be to find a tolerable device to keep an attorney's mouth closed, even when sleeping. On December 21, 1995, I returned to St. Joseph's Hospital for a second full night's sleep study using no device the first half of the night and using only our original Chin-Up Strip the second half of the night. Dr Honsotia indicated that I snored and experienced numerous sleep apnea events during the first half of the night. In the second half of the night, using only our Chin-Up Strip, my snoring was reduced significantly, and my Respiratory Disturbance Index dropped to five, which was in the normal range. Dr Honsotia said: "Attorney Miller, you need to get a patent on your ChinUp Strip device as soon as possible! There are millions of people who would benefit from using your simple device to control mouth breathing." In 1997 and 1998, patient sleep studies were conducted to "Evaluate the ChinUp Strip" in a hospital sleep center in
