Creativity at the epitome of the evolution of the mind.

What is creativity? Creativity is the ability to take an original perspective and an idea and execute it in whichever way suits you or your purpose. According to scientists, the right side of the human brain is from where the creative thoughts and perspective originate. The left side of the brain has to do with logic and reasoning whereas, the right side is what enables you to think differently. That is what creativity is, the ability to see things from a different perspective and create an original form of that perspective. Creativity is a major requisite in many parts of all industries as well as day-to-day normal tasks and chores. As humans, presently we are only able to use a certain percentage of our brain. The percentage of the brain that we use so far has evolved with the help of creativity playing an important role. Many of the innovations that the human race has come across, started off as an idea and a thought because of the ability to think differently. Without which we probably would’ve still been stuck in the

stone age thinking that our only source of light was the sun and the moon (which reflects the light of the sun of course). The evolution of the human race has also led to the evolution of the thought processes and the mindsets of people all over the globe. In every industry we have people who are required to be the “creative brains” behind certain plans, innovations, products, etc. If you ask me, I feel mostly every task has some amount of creativity in it. Why? Every individual is their own person, they are the only version of themselves, therefore making them the original and the only one. However, an enemy of creativity is habit. When people get used to a certain way of doing things or to how things work, the ability for the mind to be creative is lost. Therefore, one of the many upsides of being creative is being able to break habits. Being able to see certain patterns, being able to perceive and understand things differently, being able to put thoughts or ideas across in a different than usual way; that is creativity. People who rely on creativity, for example writers, artists, musicians, fashion designers, graphic designers, film makers, script writers, etc., often suffer with something called a “creative block”. This could be very frustrating at times, especially when they have a time restraint. Other than this, what can also be frustrating to a certain extent to some people is when their ideas and their creative thinking isn’t clear or understandable to others. However, some people are creative for themselves and some for the purpose of others (jobs, projects, school, etc.). The process of being creative isn’t always easy as such, there is a lot of thinking, brainstorming and plenty of ‘tearing out the pages and throwing them in the bin’ parts that come with it. Different people have different techniques to help them get their ‘creative juices’ to start flowing. Some of those techniques vary from listening to music, dancing, playing instruments to taking walks, going for runs, sitting somewhere secluded while gazing up at the night sky, etc. Here are some quotes to inspire you to be more creative and not give up when you are at a stand-still:

● “Everything you can imagine is real.” – Pablo Picasso. ● “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use the more you

have.” – Maya Angelou – 1982, the Bell Telephone Magazine, Volume 61, Number 1, page 32. ● “Creativity is intelligence having fun.” – Albert Einstein. ● “To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to

human soul.” – Dieter F. Uchtdorf. ● “It’s really hard to design products by focus groups. A lot of

times, people don’t know what they want until you show it to them.” – Steve Jobs.

● “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what

you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.” – George Bernard Shaw. ● “One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time

to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.” – Paulo Coelho. ● “When learning is purposeful, creativity blossoms. When

creativity blossoms, thinking emanates. When thinking emanates, knowledge is fully lit. When knowledge is lit, the economy flourishes.”

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam – Book:

Indomitable Spirits. ● “Art, indeed, began with abstraction.” – Sigfried Giedion. ● “Creativity comes from a conflict of ideas.” – Donatella

Versace. ● “Creativity is the quality that you bring to the activity that

you are doing. It is an attitude, an inner approach – how you look at things . . . Whatsoever you do, if you do it joyfully, if you do it lovingly, if your act of doing is not purely

economical, then it is creative.” – Osho – https://www.speakingtree.in/article/love-what-you-do-by-os ho. ● “If you want something new, you have to stop doing

something old.” – Peter F. Drucker. ● “Creativity is the greatest rebellion in existence” – Gautama
