eing able to meet the constantly evolving demands and expectations of customers, managing statutory/regulatory compliance, staying abreast with the competitive industrial environment, planning and stocking inventory and most importantly, manufacturing quality products consistently are some of the prominent challenges faced by manufacturing and assembly companies. IQMS® addresses all these aforementioned issues, as well as other challenges, faced by businesses operating in the manufacturing industry. IQMS takes great pride in offering its suite of highly scalable, flexible and faster ERP solutions for the manufacturing sector. IQMS is a privately held, global software company based in Paso Robles, California with offices across North America, Europe and Asia, built by and for manufacturers. Born on the shop floor, its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is tailored exactly for the manufacturing environment. It understands manufacturers’ challenges and delivers quality solutions that allow customers to run their businesses better. Designed on accountability, the IQMS system combines ERP, manufacturing execution system (MES), and manufacturing software to advance all aspects of a manufacturer’s business, providing a comprehensive end-to-end suite that is supported by real-time performance and scalability. Fascinating Leaders of IQMS Randall Flamm, Founder of IQMS, began his career in 1973 as a Maintenance Engineer at a Northern California based molding facility. Due to the lack of commercially available manufacturing software, Flamm began developing a program that targeted the information needs of the plastics industry. As his new quoting software was embraced and implemented at the company, so did his desire to expand it

to encompass scheduling, inventory control, and production reporting. In 1989, Flamm founded IQMS and started evolving the ERP product with new features and functionality across numerous industries. With Flamm’s retirement in 2015, Gary Nemmers joined IQMS as the CEO and President of IQMS. Both IQMS corporate leaders saw the same opportunity: a manufacturer’s success was contingent upon the shop floor’s procedures and processes. With the outline of automation and information technology oversight and management for the industry, shop floor operations could increasingly become more efficient and cost-effective with the right system in place. Superlative Solutions with Great Services IQMS solutions are quite apt for discrete and batch manufacturers of auto components, consumer products, electronics, machinery, precision products, plastics, steel and various manufacturing and assembly plants. Specifically, IQMS' ERP solution is perfect for process manufacturers of leather, cement, dairy, food and beverages, chemicals, plastics, steel, etc. Developed specifically for mid-market repetitive, discrete and batch process manufacturers, IQMS delivers robust capabilities for addressing strict customer and regulatory certification and compliance. IQMS achieves this by supplying traditional ERP functionality for accounting, sales orders, material requirements, inventory and purchasing, plus extended native features for customer relationship management (CRM), human resources, production scheduling, shop floor control, warehouse and quality modules. Within the ERP market, the company is seeing debates on the merits of the cloud versus on-premises implementations. IQMS believes that its customers should be able to choose the deployment that best suits their needs, so the company has formed its Choice is the New Cloud™ program. Through this program, IQMS offers options for deploying software that confirms robust protection and disaster
We are committed to providing smart, safe and sustainable ERP solutions around the world
recovery for its customers, but without the cost of maintaining a remote data center. Instead, customers can install the IQMS system through one of three deployment approaches: (1) As a cloud-based subscription service, (2) As licensed software managed in the cloud by IQMS, or (3) As an on-premises implementation of licensed software. With these three deployment options, manufacturers have the flexibility to choose the right solution for their company and their budget. IQMS’ competition tends to emphasize traditional “back office” ERP functionality; whereas, with IQMS, its focus is on the manufacturing shop floor where “the money is made” by fulfilling orders on time with quality products while minimizing costs. The company makes it a priority to ensure that manufacturers are meeting quality strategies and standards while accomplishing short delivery times, saving time and money. As technology progresses, so does IQMS’ software. From wireless and mobile capabilities to the ever cumulative requirement for instantaneous visibility, collaboration and communication, IQMS EnterpriseIQ software will continue to protect a strategic place in manufacturing as the only total, enterprise-wide solution. New Approaches and Cutting-edge Solutions IQMS believes that previously the manufacturing industry was focusing on low-cost components, relying on long,
‘
‘
complex and unreliable supply chains in order to achieve increasingly lower price points. However, today, the manufacturing sector is reshoring to the countries where the final product is made, enabling short supply chains that can be relied upon to produce quality parts on short notice. IQMS sees manufacturers building additional plants close to their end consumers to ensure this ease of doing business. With multiple plants in place, manufacturers are relying heavily on automation along with production and process monitoring to deliver quality parts on time to specification. In the most advanced manufacturing regions, industry regulations are on the rise, and these requirements are being pushed down the supply chain. Mid-market manufacturers are seeking information and equipment to measure and document regulatory compliance. Therefore, the need for ERP systems with integrated quality management functionality is on the rise. Through its Implementation by Design™ process, IQMS certifies that manufacturers can migrate to a fresh ERP system within three to six months. Making Clients a Top Priority At IQMS, there are three teams dedicated to client relations: First, the frontline Customer Support Group, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, directly answers its customers’ product usage and support
We form long-term partnerships with our customers based on trust, support and bottom-line, measurable ROI
questions, ensuring their systems continue to run efficiently. Second, its Professional Services and Education Group provides ongoing training so that customers can continuously receive additional value from their ERP systems. With a solid team of project managers, solution architects, and subject matter experts in place, the Professional Services team offers assistance from planning and implementing the new ERP solution through full adoption and ongoing maintenance of the solution with training, shadowing, mentoring and change management support. And third is the Customer Success Group, which works proactively with customers to extract maximum value from their IQMS products and services. Team members from this group collaborate with customers to recognize their uses of and experiences with the software, identifying any gaps. Centered on their findings, the team will offer recommendations and work with their IQMS Support and Professional Services counterparts to provide customers the training, knowledge and resources to maximize their operational efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring customers reach their business goals and objectives. What most stands out about IQMS is its Implementation by Design™ approach for getting customers up and running successfully in a predictable timeframe. Importantly, its implementation approach parallels the manufacturing process. This accelerates understanding and buy-in among customers about the people and processes required to get an enactment into production effectively and on schedule. Remarkable Impressions of Employees behind the Successful Journey of IQMS IQMS appreciates that company employees are vital to its success. The company stats include a 25% improved headcount over the past year alone. IQMS is known for its

extensive 120-day training and evaluation program. New hires undergo 90 days of core hands-on product training followed by 30 days of shadowing and mentoring, concluding with both written and verbal testing on product knowledge and soft skills. IQMS fosters a participatory management style, beginning with open door policies and engagement across all levels of the organization in strategic planning, process creation and strategic direction of the company. While articulating about its company team, Gary Nemmers says, “Not only do IQMS team members work hard, we play hard, too. Associates enjoy a ‘Google-like’ environment, filled with company provided snacks, ongoing staff mixers and company-sponsored events. In addition to giving back to our associates, we also take pride in giving back to the local community. Over the past year, IQMS donated nearly $200,000 to local non-profits, including $40,000 in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) scholarships to eligible high school students. We even provide opportunities for associates to volunteer several hours a month at local non-profits while on the clock.” Future Outlook Holds Significant Opportunities IQMS attributes its success to placing customers first through its manufacturing shop floor focus and world-class support. The company realizes that its success is linked to their success, which is tied to their ability to ship quality products on time with minimal costs. IQMS sees that the manufacturing industry is developing, which means customers will be looking for process enhancements to become more proficient and productive. In addition, IQMS knows that the sustained adoption of the internet of things (IoT) and the use of big data to perform predictive analytics will make manufacturers more productive and more reliable, ensuring better quality while cutting operational and labor costs. As a company that places the goals of the shop floor and manufacturing first, IQMS will continue to prove itself and its value in the marketplace, providing ERP total system solutions to its current customers as they grow while expanding its current customer base.

INTELLIGENCE ERP: An Innovative Approach in the Market

rom the past few years, it is observed technology focused companies use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications for smooth-running of the business processes, for enabling the business to have a greater insight and visibility into their supply chain operations. This revolutionary development boosts the pace of businesses and helps in maintaining a competitive edge in the industry. Due to ERP, now, the companies have acquired capabilities to break down barriers between the business and the customer. Due to an increasing demand for ERP software solutions the competition has intensified. iERP a Next Wave in ERP Technology is continuing to expand our knowledge and abilities and business leaders are demanding some new updates to improve their business. It’s not satisfactory to only have an ERP as organizations already have the capacities, but it is vital to have intelligence ERP which delivers results. iERP performs many more activities like collecting data, reviews from various aspects and yields information based on exemptions and business rules. Only intelligence ERP have these abilities as standard ERP applications don't have these capabilities. Intelligence ERP contributes several advantages including, Machine Learning (ML), Enhanced Business processes, Differentiated user experience (UX), and Product improvement. Machine Learning (ML) Shaping the Business iERP applies the ML and advanced analytics to foretell, study, investigate, report, and maintain company resources and business practices. This characteristic allows the entire snapshot of the operational data vital to the ERP application. As iERP software learns, the application serves to build forecasting analytics and imminent solutions to obtain the information required to adjust and reconfigure the business developments. Enhanced Business Processes An iERP allows the users to reveal new judgments, develop specific estimates and predictions, set up process automation, and develop suggestions for subsequent levels.
Users can observe the information and set goals for business transactions or forecasts iERP provides a 360-degree panorama of the company’s overall effectiveness and furnishes the administrative team with the tools required to make better and faster decisions. Allow Users to Perform Smart Tasks The additional advantage of ERP practices is the way they change the UX and eventually affect the way employees do their jobs. The traditional ERP software requires employees to trace the information they need to perform their tasks, at lengths before putting it into action. Due to Intelligent ERP systems, it becomes easy to perform many of the tasks rather than collecting just information and it enables the users to fulfill their tasks more efficiently. iERP Enhances Product Quality With the support of iERP, the organizations will able to develop their outcomes. The use of iERP can create an accessible method of interaction with their representatives which will enhance the product development. Also, iERP system can perform modifications to their products, records, or production process that they might have neglected before. These modifications help to increase revenue. According to IDC estimates, 35% of business leaders will demand intelligent ERP by 2018, as there is more to it than just the technology. The ERP technologies are impressive and typically combined with big data and cloud deployments to make the proper resources available for these huge computing jobs. Reduces Cycle Time iERP uses all the information about product, market, and trade sector and interprets them, and also discovers the method as it goes on. The introduction of iERP into business can greatly diminish sales cycle times. Due to automation and augmentation in iERP several steps in the business process can be diminished, and those lingering steps can be expanded by constant learning in the system. Workers Need to Evolve Skill Sets There are few factors that are making iERP practices worthy, possibly unavoidable. It will affect the employees of the organizations who carry those practices. It reduces the human interference to perform business processes so that employees will need their skill sets to adapt to the new landscape. The Future is Ahead The iERP system has progressed beyond recognition. New digitalized iERP business forms are facilitating magnified experiences and innovations, opening the importance of information.

o be a leading entrepreneur and to increase a business, one should focus on processing their business with proper planning and execution. The best way is to analyze the data and strategize accordingly for better results. But it is difficult sometimes to store so much of data and hence the data gets misplaced. So we have ERP. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a software solution that provides manufacturers with the information necessary to effectively manage their business processings. ERP is a fully integrated real-time system giving the information needed to grow business. ERP connects agility by collecting information from every department, every process throughout the entire enterprise. This means, up to the

moment, seamless communication and accurate picture of the valuable resources and tools with better project plans. This is total business intelligence with quote to figure out management potential and sleek office automation. ERP equips you with ability to instantaneously track orders and monitor the acquisition of raw materials, parts, services and labor.
ERP Protections
A complete ERP solution integrates a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and the Quality Management Module. MES enhances ERP with up to the moment in process job data. This provides the ability to make critical adjustments immediately. With real-time quality management integrated, tools are available to secure& ensure a superior product with higher customer satisfaction, which ultimately will be leading to increase business. Security Challenges Today, opportunity in hacking business is at peak. ERP in particular is a paramount. ERP systems are the focal point of the businesses that use them. Pirated access can affirm medical records, open the door to larceny at financial institutions and undermine industrial firms. Hackers have deviated their focus from individuals to enterprises. An increase in number of targeted attacks, including ones against ERP systems is expected. There are a lot of resources on the Internet providing all the required information to attackers to customize their techniques on the ERP's architectures. We can say that ERP is vulnerable. It is now time for firms to take ERP security on a serious note. Some of the challenges in ERP security are as followsInadequate Response Planning The first ERP security threat is lack of planning. Many of the businesses cannot run properly due to lack of planning. Firms do not have effective methods in place to detect ERP vulnerabilities and incursion. The worse scenario is that, many don't have an adequate incident response plan in place for when there is a suspicious activity. There is often a paucity in business in a proper incident response that includes the ERP layer. Logging for forensic purposes is not defined properly.
Ransomware Attacks There is no such system which is immune to the ransomware epidemic. Experts believe that the volume of ransom attacks against ERP systems is going to rise from here onwards. At present, researchers at ERPs have leaked a proof-ofconcept attack against SAP systems. A remote command execution vulnerability allows the autoloading of any program from the server onto the workplace in SAP's standard client application. The cybercriminal can download malware to the device that can automatically be installed on every endpoint with SAP graphical user interface when a user runs the application. Insider Threats One of the most widespread internal attacks is payroll fraud. Malicious workers or former employees who still have access to the ERP system are another top security threat. Even if it is tough to stop, businesses are already concerned about it. Insider threats top the list of security risks. An employee can change its wage. A direct modification can be easily detected. Many of these breaches by employees instead inflate the number of additional working hours, raising total wages secretly. The fraud therefore is extremely difficult to detect. Vulnerable Interconnections ERP systems are commonly interconnected with many other systems. This is a part of the value of ERP. It also poses a security threat because it is a vulnerability in one of the systems which opens the door for access to the others. The ERP systems can be compromised potentially by a vulnerability in a connected app. And a vulnerability in ERP can spread to other systems. A flaw in ERP may be the first step in a multi-stage attack resulting in physical damage. Interconnections should be taken into account by enterprises. They also need to monitor them closely because there is more room for attack than ever before. Poor Patch Management The process of repairing vulnerabilities in an infrastructure of an organization in order to maintain network security is
23 August 2017
called as patch management. One of the biggest ERP threats today is inactive security patches. ERP systems are not often upto-date. Many businesses have an inadequate process for monitoring these updates and putting them into place. IT security teams have their own patch management programs. These programs usually exclude ERP systems. According to security perspective, poor patch management can be costly. Poor ERP Security Delegation Defining the handling of ERP security is one of the biggest security challenges in the current year. The consequence is that many preventive measures fall through the cracks. SoD and user management are two terms which are mostly focused by security teams inside ERP-specific departments. IT security teams mainly focus on the OS and networking layer rather than ERP application itself. Today, the key challenge for ERP security is the grey area between those teams. Defining the same, it is critical in closing the gap between them. The information security teams are not fully aware of the importance of ERP security in a holistic way. This not only includes a lack of awareness about basic security practices but also more modern best practices such as scanning for security vulnerabilities, continuous monitoring, and proper cloud security. ERP provides with a clear view of opportunities, to serve better to new and existing customers in an ever challenging market. Modern ERP is flexible but one should look forward to the security challenges to increase a business. Therefore, refined attacks are only a small part of the problem when it comes to ERP security. The bigger challenge is organizational. ERP eventually is perching at the root of a business. Today, many of the top ERP security challenges actually come from action not taken by the firms using these systems.

t the end of the month, it’s taking longer and longer to reconcile financials. Even forecasts related to sales are based more on guesswork than on solid figures. As a result, business is having trouble in keeping up with its order volume and also customer satisfaction is faltering. Marketers have no idea how much inventory they have in their warehouse and it is quite painful to find out the same. If this is the scenario in their business or close to it, then it may be the time to consider an ERP system. Because each and every organization is unique and there is no single indicator that utters, “Your business

needs ERP now!” However, the companies that are benefited most from ERP software will often face exactly same problems and frustrations. Is your business facing some of these same issues? Here are the points which will help you to discover the signs that your company is ready for an ERP. Having Different Software for Various Processes Think for few minutes about how employees at your company track records and process information. Does your account’s staff use one system for payables and receivables while sale’s staff uses another system to enter in customer orders? Is that process of order taking and fulfilling into
accounting takes time-sucking manual process? Do your employees use different solutions to track shipping and receiving in the warehouse? It can wreak havoc on the processes when various front and backend systems run separately, that are meant to ensure smooth running of company. While not having an accurate data from sales, inventory management will suffer a lot and without the updated information from accounting can prompt a contagion effect on everything varying from marketing budgets to payrolls. ERP software amalgamates these systems so that each and

every business function depends on a single database. An ERP solution breaks up information logjams with one source of information that contains accurate, real-time data and helps staff in making better decisions more quickly as well as freeing up their time to work on more high-value exercises so that it can help the businesses to grow even more faster. Not Having Easy Access to Information How long will it take to find out, what your average sales margin is? What about various key performance metrics of orders per day? Companies relying on siloes systems and spreadsheets needs to be constantly updated and should be reconciled manually. When employees across your company need immediate access to key data that means the pace of business is faster than ever before. At any time, executives can get a holistic view of business operations with an ERP solution while others can only get the information they needed for doing their jobs more efficiently. Accounting is More Difficult and Takes Longer Often, from your accounting department only, the first noticeable sign will come that your company needs ERP software. If your employees every week spend hours in manually entering paper-based invoices and sales orders into different accounting then you need to consider that most of the time is being wasted on tasks that ERP software can handle instantly. The same scenario is going with financial reporting, an ERP solution can make a noteworthy impact if it is taking ages to reconcile or consolidate information related to finance across systems and through countless spreadsheets. So, if all the financials will be in a single database then accounting staff won’t have to spend several hours rekeying numbers, crossposting information, or manually reconciling data. Thus, it will help your accounting staff to deliver critical reports without any delay or frustration and they will become more productive. Sales and the Customer Experience Suffers Often, inventory management is one of their biggest challenges when companies are growing very fast. As it ensures that the subsequent amount of products is in the right place at the right time, which is a vital part of any business operation. When customer data, inventory and sales are separately maintained, then serious problems can occur across your company. Sales will be off until the next shipment arrives, if you are running out of a popular product. Meanwhile, if customers are calling to inquire about an order and employees are not able to track it to see whether they are shipped or are still in stock then company will start developing a poor reputation for services and reliabilities. Moreover, with an ERP system staff of every department will have an access to the same and will also have up-to-date information too.

Oracle’s cloud customers can get to the business at hand to plan their next competitive disruption, rather than spending time planning a future software upgrade project.
Delivering Industry-Leading Cloud ERP Oracle has used their deep business experience to form one of the strongest and most complete ERP cloud portfolios on the market. Oracle is a name trusted by companies in all industries across the globe to help them get the utmost efficiency and innovation from the cloud. Oracle knows there are a range of choices for customers who are using ERP for the first time or looking to replace/upgrade their existing infrastructure—but stresses the selection should be guided by which provider can best support the evolution and growth of your business. The Oracle ERP Cloud solution provides for the needs of your business now and in the future. It is mobile, has built-in analytics, and includes secure social collaboration. Oracle partners with customers to achieve their business goals – assembling the right team to ensure that everyone’s needs are met, identifing the technical needs for their cloud ERP, building a business case to secure C-level buy-in – including a detailed ROI forecast – and working with the customer to define what cloud ERP success looks like for their business. They provide cloud customers with a minimum of two upgrades per year, which deliver additional features, better experiences, and new technological capabilities, whereas an on-premises solution might do an upgrade every five years or so. Thus,
As a part of Oracle’s ongoing R&D and innovation efforts, Oracle will
amplify its cloud applications, including ERP Cloud, with artificial intelligence and machine learning. Steve asserts, “I’m more than a little enthusiastic about the promise of our new Adaptive Intelligent Applications and the benefits they'll have for our customers. Our competitors, of course, have a narrative around AI and machine learning, but we're outcomefocused, working to improve business results for our customers with adaptive intelligence and many other emerging technologies.” Leveraging insights confined within Oracle’s Data Cloud, which is a collection of more than 5+ billion consumer and business profiles, with over 45,000 attributes, Oracle Adaptive Intelligent Applications will use Oracle’s web-scale data and apply advanced data science to learn and ingest the data about an organization’s
users and their behaviors. They then deliver targeted information to customers and employees. The great benefit is that the Applications will automatically offer individualized recommended actions to streamline the tasks of business users, including finance professionals. A Vision for the Future Oracle develops and invests substantially in R&D, bringing the latest business software innovations for customers to use as needed. Additionally, using global customer input, they're constantly working to push the boundaries to enable customers to do more with ERP Cloud. While describing their competitive strategy, Steve says, “I’m lucky, as I get to meet and listen to hundreds of customers both one-to-one at our focus groups and at Oracle events around the world such as Modern Finance Experience and Modern Business Experience, Cloud World and our Digital Days. I’m a voracious reader, with Forbes, Inc., WIRED, Fast Company, and HBR at the top of my list, and I’m always looking for new ideas on Medium and from the Twitter feeds of The World Economic Forum, Bain & Company, and so many blogs.” Oracle continues to innovate their cloud solutions. They have developed their own Cloud Applications so that they can harmonize with other systems. In moving to customers to the cloud, they help them to either advance a single process such as supplier qualification, planning and budgeting, or to modernize parts of their business, such as a subsidiary. Modernizing a subsidiary with Oracle ERP Cloud and uniting it back to the overall group systems can be the first step to link their existing finance system to the cloud.

nterprise software has failed us! For decades, vendors and consultants have claimed a savings of 20-30% with the implementation of MRP, CRM, ERP .. or a plethora of other offerings over the years. Far too many of these systems fail to realize the benefits that justified the initiative to begin with. Most companies embark upon the enterprise software implementation with big fan fare, company wide town-halls, memos and armed with an army of consultants. After several months of implementation and hundreds and thousands of dollars spent, the majority of the workforce figures out a way to ‘bypass’ the system and its use is relegated to a handful of poor souls in the back-office departments. Why does this happen? A study by Sand Hill Group shows that only 1 percent of potential users of the system, cited the cause as a lack of software functionality. An overwhelming 70 percent cited usability and complexity as the main

obstacle. Former NYTimes Design Director Khoi Vinh captured this common frustration in his seminal 2007 article, If It Looks Like a Cow, Swims Like a Dolphin and Quacks Like a Duck, It Must Be Enterprise Software, saying: “If you work at a big company and you’ve ever had to do something that should be simple, like file an expense report, make changes to your salary withholdings - or,.. if you’ve ever tried to apply for a job at a big company - then you’ve probably encountered these confounding user experiences. And you probably cursed out loud.” The problem is that enterprise software has to support very complex tasks, but software companies design it for a general audience, not for specific users. Since it has to work for a variety of companies, it’s designed as a one-size-fitsall solution that doesn’t actually fit anyone well.
try to alter their employees’ behavior to fit the flaws in the software. This is wrong and it needs to end. Enterprise software used to be about making existing work more efficient. Today, the opportunity for software is to transform the work itself. Here at TiZE we are passionate about this goal. We are embarking on this journey with our industry specific solution for the speciality chemicals industry based on an entirely new approach to software. The approach based on providing the simplest fit and function, combined with ease of use. As Bessemer Venture Partners state in their industry focus, occasionally technology is so revolutionary that it can transform the way an entire industry works. This is perhaps the most compelling opportunity ahead of us.
A lot of enterprise software was created a long time ago when there wasn’t as much concern for the user experience. Now, customers are more demanding of a quality experience, but with many existing customers, it’s difficult for enterprise software companies to do a complete redesign. And with little competition, customers don’t have much choice. There is also a darker, ulterior motive behind this mess. Having many features allows enterprise software sales professionals to engage in a conversation that allows for incremental increases over time. Often enterprise software is tiered in a variety of ways in order to extract maximum revenue. Because it’s so challenging to fix problems with enterprise software, companies find that it’s easier to change their work processes. Through training and documentation, they
